Clear sound, comfortable non-hearing impaired use, pricey but well worth every penny
Short background to our situation. My husband was born with irreparable 90% hearing loss in his right ear. For his entire life, he has done well having hearing only in his left ear.Several months ago however, he suffered complete sudden hearing loss in that left ear. He received treatment right away, but has so far not recovered any of his hearing. This essentially left him completely deaf.He has since gotten Cros hearing aids that provide comfortable hearing for most daily face-to-face situations, and these phones make a world of difference allowing comfortable tele-communication the rest of the time. There are several volume settings which are all very intuitively easy to set (even without reading the manual). There were a handful of days that he was without his hearing aids. This meant all he had was about 10% of hearing in one ear. People could communicate with him if they had their mouth within inches of that ear.We turned up both the ring and speech volume on these phones, and he could actually have a conversation. It wasn’t the most comfortable, as he had to hold the handset very tight and close to his ear, but it did still allow him to communicate with his essential clients.Once he got his hearing aids, all he did was lower the volumes. Very adaptable to use in many situations. What is most handy are the volume control buttons on the side of each handset. He works mainly from our home office and he and his partner work here several times a week. His partner and I both have no degradation in our hearing, but we can comfortably use these phones by just lowering the volume using those volume buttons. The sound quality is clear and no different from our other cordless phones. Both the base unit and the handsets, flash when there is an incoming call, which allows you to lower or mute the ring when necessary. The ring volume on each handset is independently controlled, so you can set one handset to ring more loudly than the others. Ring volume gets turned up when out in the garden and the handset is sitting a ways away. We also have the bedroom handset volume turned down since we can easily hear the other handsets ring.We purchased this base unit and 4 other extra handsets. The handsets register and pair very easily and the range is quite remarkable. We have a 2000sq/ft home on 3 levels. The base unit is on the top floor and a handset in the garage poses no connection issues at all.A bit pricey for the entire 5 handset system we needed, but a godsend you cannot put a price on, as it allows “business as usual” for my husband and our household.

Good phone; use only rechargeable batteries
I bought this on behalf of a senior with poor hearing.Pros:-She liked that the phone very loudly announced who the caller is with Caller ID service. It was a little jarring for people with decent hearing. -Listening to messages was easy enough. Reliable answering machine.-The flashing light when receiving a call was a plus.Cons:**Senior did not heed cautionary statement to only use rechargeable batteries in both base unit and handset. She put regular alkaline batteries in base unit, which fried the base unit and tripped the GFCI outlet .** Now I’m shopping for another phone.-Scammer calls got through…..However, there is a feature to block incoming calls when no phone number is provided. She just didn’t use it because she likes surveys.-Senior still had trouble hearing people who talked quietly or did not enunciate clearly.I recommend this reliable phone IF rechargeable AAA batteries are used. She had the phone over 4 years. I think it would have lasted a lot longer. Sigh.

    Good, not great
Pros: Loud ringer; loud boost feature; the red parts of phone blink when there is a call or a voice mail message; setup is easy if you are technology inclined; the phone book can save many phone numbers, has speed dial, buttons are big, phone has long battery life.Cons: Speakerphone without boost is not loud like a speakerphone should be; the backlight does not shine through the dial pad adequately; the screen does not lightup, not enough speed dial numbers (only 9 phone numbers can be stored for speed dial).Summary: I bought this for my mom who is visually impaired. Her good vision comes and goes. When her vision is not so good, the dial pad backlight and screen are not bright enough for her. She loves the boost feature, caller id and loud ringer. She wishes there were more than 9 speed dial numbers.

    LOUD
I purchased this phone for my business. Since I own a bar and restaurant, there’s so much background noise, our phones have always been an issue! For 20 years I have been looking for the right product-THIS IS IT! It rings loudly! The sound in the receiver is LOUD! TOO LOUD! I had to turn it down! It’s amazing how clear the sound is! We no longer have to step outside or in the cooler to hear the person on the other end!I do suggest adding to the description that this item also makes an excellent business phone for loud places! I can see this being great in a factory, garage, etc! Amazing product!

    No as loud
I have a hard of hearing mother and I thought this phone was going to be the one that she wouldn’t say I can’t hear you and I wouldn’t have to yell so loud and hard

    Terrible product
I bought this for my 97 yr old mom because it was listed as ‘one of the best’ for the elderly with big buttons, etc. That it does have. BUT, the features are terrible. To answer a call you can’t just pick it up and say hello. You have to find and push the green talk button. Then, to hang up you have to find and push the red off button. My mom can barely read these two buttons w/o a magnifying glass. So, she has to find the m-glass, then pick up the handset, and so on. She’s learned which button to push to answer, but sometimes in fumbling with it, she hits the OFF button first. Well, when you DO that…it BLOCKS THE CALL!!!!!! That means when I was traveling out of state and she hit it by mistake, it blocked me from making that AND FUTURE calls to her. A terrible feature!!!!! NO PHONE SHOULD HAVE A SINGLE BLOCK CALL BUTTON THAT’s so easily hit by accident. BUT especially the phone of and elderly person. This product is terrible and needs to be redesigned substantially.UPDATE: Early FEb 2020. The phone has QUIT WORKING properly. It rings once and then drops ALL incoming CALLS. And, no, it’ s not something else interfeering because another phone (1/3 the price from WalMart) works JUST FINE.Forget this product!

The one I purchased was returned cause my dad wanted the ability to hear it from outside while in the garden. This phone is amazing though. I was intrigued by all the features it offers.

Loud enough for those with hearing impairment. Wish they provided quality headphones as aftermarket headphones leave much to be desired.Text to voice announcements is appalling. CH is read as K which is acceptable for Christopher. Totally fails when trying to say Charles.

The design of this phone is almost perfect except that the connection to the headset requires a 2.5 instead a usual 3.5 jacks. why??
