    It works great
The setup was easy. Four of the sockets use the backup power, the other four don’t. So I hooked up just the necessary things for backup: My PC, monitor, and router. Then I pulled the plug out of the wall. There was no interruption whatsoever – everything just kept running. It said I had 26 minutes of battery time. So I’ll break that down, because so many people want a time estimate. I bought the 600va/360w version. My PC was built to be low power consumption. I estimate it consumes 150w, maximum, and much less when idle. The monitor is a medium-sized 1080p monitor. I am guessing it takes 30w. That’s a blind guess. The modem, maybe 15w. So that’s less than 200w, and I get 26 minutes running time. Your desktop PC probably uses a bit more power. I’m on a circuit that blows frequently, so I only need a short time while the circuit is reset. So if you’re only supporting a router/modem, it should last a very long time. It is apparent to me that many of the unhappy reviewers are need a commercial-grade solution and are expecting much more power and features than this simple, inexpensive UPS has. The unit is rated at 360w. As you approach that maximum, efficiency will drop and your run time will be greatly reduced. Keep it to 200w or less, if you want good efficiency.Don’t try putting a ‘fridge or a microwave on this little guy. It isn’t made for that. A normal laptop might get a few hours out of this. Most desktop PC’s use more power than mine does, especially a fancy gaming rig or software engineer’s station. If you have a mighty computer, you won’t get much more than time to shut it down gracefully. A more modest computer might last 15 minutes or more. Please keep in mind these are my amateur estimates. There is software. Check under the product info on the Amazon page. I forget which tab it is under, but there’s a link. Plug the supplied cable into your computer to configure the unit. Install software. It will ask for a username and password. Both are “admin” until/unless you change them. You don’t have to use the software. It just lets you tinker with settings and see the battery time and load. Handy for experimenting with different loads. No complaints, it’s doing just what I hoped it would do. Hope this review is helpful to some.

    Solid product
I bought two of these units and they work great. One is in my home office and the other keeps my fiber modem and Wi-Fi up during any power outage. The constant beeping during outages is quite annoying, but it sounds like there’s a way to disable that. The product description says there is a power management software, but I have not used it.

    Good performance for price
Picked this up since our area sees a fair amount of 2-3 hour power failures. Most times it’s just the power lines, so I wanted something to keep our Router on so we could at least access the Internet on phones or laptops. I only use this for the router, so it easily handled outages of 4+ hours on two occasions and 2-3 hours about a dozen times. Very easy to set up, just check the manual for safe power limits so you aren’t overloading it. It will beep while it is working off internal battery, but as long as you aren’t in the same room, it’s not too loud. It does have some weight to it, so pick a good spot where you can set it up and forget it. It will take a little time to charge initially or after running off internal battery for a while, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue as long as there aren’t multiple events in quick succession.

Almost works with apcupsd – raspberry pi
UPS 1500VA 900 Watt: The software that you can get to manage this UPS to control a shutdown of a computer only works for Macs and PC/Linux intel x86 architectures. I bought it for a Raspberry Pi 4 (ARM architecture) and tried controlling it with apcupsd ( v3.14.14 (31 May 2016) debian) available with a simple ‘sudo apt install apcupsd’. It mostly works by setting UPSCABLE usb, UPSTYPE usb, and leaving DEVICE empty in apcupsd.conf. The ‘apcaccess’ command will show most of the usual parameters. The ‘apctest’ command only works for a few of its options, including perform self test, read results of last self test, view/change alarm behavior, and perform battery calibration – at least battery drains to 0% (not 25%) then test ends. These functions don’t work: view/change battery date, view mfgr date, view/change sensitivity, view/change low and high transfer voltage, test alarm, view/change self-test interval.Apcupsd will appropriately trigger a shutdown of the Pi based on conditions set in apcupsd.conf. However, there is an odd consequence to be aware of. When testing to see if the UPS would shut off after Pi had shut down, I gave up after 10min on battery with no UPS shutdown and plugged the UPS back in and rebooted the Pi. About an hour later, while on main power the whole time since the test and batteries nearly full, the UPS shut itself off. So some aspect of the ‘killpower’ command must be getting to the UPS, but you can’t see what its delay is (3600 sec?), or set it. At 25% (225w) load this battery pack will run a little over 30 min, so killing the UPS after an hour is useless. Beware this odd behavior if you use apcupsd or you may end with power killed to your system when you least expect it.

These work great to power your electronics during a short power outage. I find they will maintain for about 2 hours, otherwise, you will need to get the generator going. I also find it interesting that they click when there are surges, even if you don’t notice the surge the UPS does. Cool product.

It seems like a solid unit. These are actually built by Cyberpower, which uses the Cyberpower Powerpanel program to connect to Windows. The courier Intelcom delivered this to the wrong house. Thankfully, amazon was able to send a 2nd one out and I didn’t have to fight with them or anything! It can be set up to turn off your pc automatically after a power outage, after it turns your pc off it will also shutdown the UPS about a minute after. Once power comes back on the UPS will automatically turn back on and if you have your PC setup accordingly in the BIOS your PC will also turn on automatically. One thing about this unit is if the battery of the UPS goes to 0% it will not turn back on automatically. But you shouldn’t be draining it to 0% anyway. However, on my UnRaid server, I could not get this functionality to work. I can get it to turn off the server but not shutdown the UPS; as a result, I would have to manually turn on the server. It recognizes the UPS; I tried built-in UPS functionality and NUTS for the server, but neither worked. It works perfect on Windows though. I get about 50 mins of runtime on my PC if idling or browsing the web.Id recommend this UPS as long as your not wanting it to shutdown and restart non-windows servers, for anything windows it works great.

Bought this one as an alternative, no high expectation to start! But, I was wrong! For the price, decent build quality, good amount plugs spots, more importantly it does the job. So far we had experienced 2 blackouts, every time this thing kicked in and did its job. It kept my internet modem+wifi+security system alive for long enough for power to be restored. (once lasted 30 min, 2nd time it was 2+ hours).Recommended for the value and piece of mind.

Just received this UPS, so this review is not about durability and longevity. I wanted to post this info as I could not find anything on this topic before purchasing so I took a chance. Long story short, the communication protocol is compatible with the APC daemon, so it is compatible with servers such as Unraid and others using the APC daemon. I would presume it will also communicate with APC made software (or any other UPS utility using the APC daemon) running on a PC in case people don’t like Amazon’s software solution (I saw some complaints on this). The UPS itself is running perfectly so far, no complaints.
