Cool little console, limited good games.
Handheld Game Console, Mini Retro Game Console with 300 Classic Games, 2.8 Inch Screen 1000mAh Rec-I’m torn about this product. There are games on here that I remember playing on arcade machines at family restaurants growing up. Nostalgia aside, I like some of the console’s features. However, there were a few things I was disappointed with. I’ll go through the pros and cons. The positive-A large list of games, they advertise 300 but there are 216 according to the library in the device.Wireless controllers. This is a huge step up compared to what I normally see with these retro games. They seem fairly responsive though you can notice a latency.Built-in screen. It makes for a nice little kit with everything you need to play in the box. (minus batteries for controllers)Very budget-friendly. The price point has me hesitant to be critical because it’s hard to expect more at this price range. The negatives-No batteries come with the controllers. They do include one for the console. The games are the worst collection from NES days outside of a handful. There is only 1 game that is one of the games I used to play. There aren’t the big hits many think of from back in those days. Most of these games are not very enjoyable. Most modern TVs or screens will not have the RCA connectors anymore. Additionally, if they did have them the games wouldn’t look right when stretched out that large with the graphics back then.So overall, I think it’s a cool device but has limited quality games on it. For the price point, it’s honestly more than I would have expected so it’s difficult to be critical. The physical device and controllers are quite nice. I wish they would have loaded on some of the popular games of that era but there are a couple of good ones. I think this is more of a nostalgia gift than it is something I would give a kid these days.

Really cool little retro game console
Really cool little retro game console complete with a mini TV which is the actual gaming console. This comes with two mini game controllers that each require THREE AAA batteries, not included of course, and the mini TV which has it’s own rechargeable battery. It also comes with a USB to USB-C charging cable for the MINI TV and a 3.5mm to composite video and mono audio, which is so old, I don’t think most modern receivers or TV’s will work from that.Overall this is a cool package, my only challenge is that the screen is so small on the mini TV which may be okay for kids. The games are decent, they’re like remakes of the originals. The mini controllers work well enough. They don’t have power buttons, I think they simply go into sleep mode after a predetermined length of non-use. The mini TV game console has an on/off switch on the rear, the AV jack, and a USB-C charging port on the rear, and on the front it has a volume control and a reset button. It’s really cute looking, it will look great on my shelf of collectible retro gaming gear.

Works, Not much Variety for 300 Games
This little thing does work, the games play, and it’s even fairly enjoyable to plug it into a TV and have some retro fun with the kids. The major downside is that of the 300 games, the vast majority of them are reskins of the same games. There must be dozens of space invader style games, plenty of sideways shooters, some precursors to the contra style fighting games. And they aren’t just retro, they’re ultra-retro. It’s a decent introduction to basic video games for young children, but you can find better stuff for free on the internet that works just fine if you’re having a retro game nostalgia fit.

Original games in 80s NES style, no instructions, can’t connect to most TVs in 2024
Imagine if someone in the 2020s made 216 new 1-player and 84 new 2-player NES-quality games. Well, that’s what you have here. Some of them are actually closer to Atari 2600 gameplay with NES graphics, but you get the drift. And no, you will not find a game you recognize on here, other than badly-controlled versions of backgammon, Chinese checkers, mah jong, etc. They are all originals. Some games are actually fun. There are a couple platformers that I was getting into and wanted to finish. One was a combination of Sea Wolf and Space Invaders, with a cowboy shooting wasps that came across the screen. I actually finished that one, even though it really wasn’t that fun. It just wasn’t that long. Many games have no music or super annoying music, like repeating the main riff of frere jacques endlessly, which made the game unplayable with the sound on.That said, the included TV screen works well and the controllers (3 AAA not included) connected right up and worked immediately when batteries were put in, so no complicated Bluetooth pairing or anything like that. The booklet says it connects to “any TV”, but you need a yellow / white RCA jack connector. Shockingly, I discovered that my TVs that I thought only had component (RGB RCA jacks for HD) video, actually had the green jack as a half-yellow half-green jack. And the game actually worked on that jack on both my LG and Samsung TVs. Who knew that yellow RCA still works with modern TVs? I didn’t.The real question is why would you buy this instead of something like the Atari 2600 Mini? More games and better controls I guess. And the Atari games aren’t the real thing either. It’s fun and OK to buy for someone who wants to play games and you don’t want to break the bank.4/5

    Works very well!
This Handheld Game Console works so well! Its very easy to use. They provide the cord you need to connect the console to your tv, and with that the console actually connected to my 55″ TV rite away, no issues! If you choose to play on the console itself, thats ez to use and it has good volume and picture! The remotes are smaller than say a Playstation Remote but they arnt to small and they work well!

I’m not really much of a gamer (!) but this is a fun little console. Forget first person shooters and the like though this is whole load of very basic platform, shooting and old fashioned mobile phone type games…remember the worm one where you get longer when you pick up apples, well thats here or at least a very similar game is.The screen is very small for these old eyes-you can see whats going on but on some of the games it can be a bit of a struggle. The screen is 72mm diagonally but it is full colour and nice and bright. The ‘TV’ is plastic and takes a supplied rehargeable battery in the back. Theres an on/off swithch on the back and a volume knob and reset switch on the front; the volume is remarkably loud given the size of the unit. The two hand controllers are surprisingly comfortable to hold, the’ye a bit like a standard controller so should be familiar to most. They take 3 x AAA batteries each which arent supplied. I’ve only used the unit in single plater mode and it is a lot of fun and some games are definitely better than others but theres 300 of ’em so theres plenty of enterrainment on hand.Theres also a video cable for plugging it into a TV but its an old style RCA plug so I havent figured out how to connect it to my smart TV yet, I presume I’ll need an additional RCA to HDMI converter box which I’ll get at some point. At £30 its maybe a little pricey but at t he same time the quality is there so if you are looking for a rather pricey stocking filler this xmas, why not?…

I ordered this off Vine because I’m of an age that I remember these old games, and have a lot on a emulator on the laptop. The games are all re-made copies of the originals, and mostly not good copies. The whole package looks great; cute little “TV”, controllers that work (but take three batteries!), and are responsive, but overall the result is lacking somewhat. The screen angle makes it difficult to use as an adult…you have to tilt the “TV” on a surface for it to be usable, and the screen is tiny. There are, obviously, no instructions for each game, and unless you have a very good memory, you’re not going to know how to play many of the games.Overall, some of the games are OK(ish), most aren’t worth the memory space they take up, and you’ll only recognise a few of them. I doubt children today would find much of interest in any of them, to be honest, but adults may like it (for a short time) because they bring back memories. Is £30 too much for this? Probably. Shame really, because it’s well made, and works.
