    Cheap and works
It’s a surprise to me to find this old CPU on Amazon. Works well on an old motherboard, nothing to complain about.

Great value for updating an older system
The CPU was well packaged and arrived in clean like new condition. I swapped out a Core i3 on an older Asus H81T MB with 16Gb RAM. System booted with no problems, and BIOS recognized the chip as advertised. MX Linux Booted with no problems and showed the expected performance gains.Very satisfied with the product and will recommend and purchase Amazon Renewed again

    Bargain Basement Aging PC Upgade
Well packaged, and delivered on time. I’ve had mixed luck with AMD CPU’s in the past [b4 Ryzen] but never any problems with Intel chips. Regardless, I always test any CPU thoroughly before the return window expires. So, first thing I did after installation was run a Prime 95 stress test for over 24 hours. All cores passed. Worth mentioning that I used my existing CoolerMaster Hyper T4 and not a wimpy stock Intel cooler. I’ll post a pic of the test results, but don’t know if it’ll even be readable or not.So, 10 years ago I built a new gamer and choose a G3258 CPU because they’re unlocked and can be overclocked. And because they were a lot less expensive to buy than others.Including the Core-i5 4590 which was also a Q2 2014 option. When I saw this “renewed” (Guess that means they clean off the old thermal paste — hey, did a good job tho!) CPU for only $37.98 it piqued my curiosity.I recently checked, and the G3258 (not overclocked) has a PassMark Average CPU Mark of 2076 and Relative Gaming Score of 852. While those relevant Core-i5 4590 scores are 5367 and 970, respectively. I’ve had the G3258 overclocked to 4.2 GHz from the start, and it does score just slightly better in older games than this 4590. However, the 4590 makes the ol’ girl seems a bit peppier in tasks/games that actually know how to utilize more than one or two cores.Although I now have 2 newer DYI gaming PCs, I still use this one for older games and other sundry tasks. The newest game I’ve got in this now aged beauty being a heavily modded original TES V: Skyrim [2011]. I get more than adequate frame rates and smooth gaming even using a humble AMD RX 460 (but prefer using my old reliable NVIDIA GTX 1060, or the even older GTX 660ti). Most of my “older games” don’t know what to do with a multi-core CPU anyway, and it’s the GPU that makes the difference gor those titles. Other older games, like Fallout 4 [2015] for instance, require a quad core or better, so would no doubt play well with this 4590 (As it does in fact in my newer, yet not newest, 8 year old box using a Core i5 6600k OC’d to 4200 MHz.)

    No issues
Haven’t had any issues with this “refurbished” Intel I5-4590 CPU.Hoping it stays that way! I’m not a gamer so can’t speak to how it would handle that kind of stress but for everday basic computing it works fine.

    Works fine
The cpu looked to be in good shape and worked fine. You only get the chip, you will need a fan and thermal paste. It was worth what I paid.

    Simple upgrade for Optiplex 3020
Upgraded a Dell Optiplex 3020 from a core i3-4160 to this for an inexpensive, entry gaming PC for a friend’s 11-yr old. Also took RAM to 16GB, bought a GeForce GTX 1650, and salvaged from old machines a 250GB SSD and a 1TB WD Blue hard drive and an old 430W PSU to complete the $325 budget upgrade. Works great for the $$.

“Refurbished” doesn’t mean what they think it means
The processor came with a large chunk of hardened thermal paste. The other contacts on the bottom were also dirty. They had a thermal paste haze on them. It took a while of carefully cleaning all of the contacts before I could actually test the chip. Refurbished is supposed to mean that they tested and cleaned the processor up. But that is not the case here. Their listing also says that all relevant accessories are included. That is also not true. I received just the CPU. This particular chip originally shipped with a stock cooler. Their description does not list that the cooler is absent. If anything, they would lead you to believe that it is included. Buyer beware.Luckily the CPU does seem to work. But I will need to run some tests to ensure stability.
