Very good unit for the money
Soon after arriving I noticed it’s size and quality of build, and was very good for the price. Also my power supply was very well packaged. I have always played around with electronics and now I’m dabbling in ham radios so a power supply became necessary. I have used for many, many hours and can say it’s a durable unit that performs well. Small in size, but has large digital screen that displays output voltage and amperage. Good appearance and easy to use. I wish it had a two separate power outputs, but I didn’t want to spend extra money for a power supply with that option. (My choice) Bottom line is after hours of use I haven’t experienced over heating, loss of applied power or any glitches. I would purchase again.

Good power supply
It supplies 30 volts DC at 5 Amps. It supplies 14.9 volts DC at 10 Amps. Thus, it is the power supply that puts out 14.9 V max at 5 amps max, and 30.0 volts at 5 amps max. You cannot get 30 volts at 10 amps! It is well built and it functions well. I like its small size, too.

small form factor PS
Needed a compact PS for my computer desk area, this works fine but has a couple of design issues. First, on low current (less then 10 milliamps) the output will cause flicker on load LED lamps. Putting a resistor in parallel with the load to bring the current up past 10 mils cures the problem . Second, the fan is on all the time, not a lot of noise but noticeable if sitting on the desktop. To be fair, most low cost switching power supplies have regulation issues on low current unlike linear power supplies which cost more. Overall, a useful design, do like the encoder controls.

This came with a set of test leads, provided the desired DC voltage, and current would not exceed maximum setting. I can’t speak to durability yet, but initially I’m satisfied with this $32 purchase.

Besides being an excellent shop power supply, it also has a current regulating feature thatâs great for powering current devices where the amount of current flowing through the load is more important than the voltage being applied.Set it for 30ma and set the voltage above the vf of a device like an LED and protect the LED from over current damage.Nice feature. Likes:Low cost, small footprint, nice displays, good looking, easy to set voltage and current settings (limits), well constructed inside. Load testing results show this power supply delivers as advertised. Limits at 150WattsVoltage setting: Push to select digit to be adjusted, then after ~3sec it goes from a voltage setting to a voltage measurement.Voltage setting: Push to select digit to be adjusted, then after ~3sec it goes from a current limit setting to a current measurement.Dislikes:EMI.Like most switching power supplies it comes with electronic noise (EMI), most of it under load.There is also a small amount of ripple at the output (~100mv) however I wouldn’t say it is excessive (could be filtered out post power supply for light duty use)Great little power supply for battery charging and general purpose applications, however I would not use this for radio work.

This is my first benchtop power supply but I’m loving it for my electronic work. I no longer have to fiddle with finding the right power supply when tinkering and can just dial in the correct voltage and amperage. I checked it with my multimeter and it seems to be right where it shows on the display (give or take 0.1V). Being able to go from 0 to 30 volts is great for 99% of my electronic needs. You can esily dial in the voltage by clicking the knob and turning it. You can also fine tune once it is locked in and slowly increase by 0.1v. I used it to find the voltages for the different colours of some high powered RGB leds I’ve had laying around in my tinker chest for years. Now maybe I’ll make something with them! It made quick work of finding the lowest and highest voltage for each colour! It came with some aligator clips on banana plugs, which was nice to be able to quickly clip in. I may have to make some simple probes so that I can inject power at different locations inside my circuits and wish it came with a set as well. It also has a fan in the back which I found a little bit loud, but otherwise, I’m very pleased with the supply and I’m sure I’ll see lots of use out of it in the future!
