Bought like 4 of these things for office productivity and cloud client apps
absolutely love this box for generic computing. replaced an imac and a few aging dell workstations and will never look back. fast, small, easy basic computing at a silly low price. the 6900hx isn’t even a modern CPU at this point and it just doesn’t matter for anything where network applications are involved.

Perfect for Under Your TV
I bought the Ryzen 9 6900HX version – this thing is great. Super small, I can hear the fan but it’s faint. I have it hooked up to a 4k TV, is super quick, WiFi works great, setup was easy. The main reason I bought this was so I could play some of the older Steam games I wanted to revisit (New Vegas, Witcher 2, etc.) while sitting on my couch. I’ll use New Vegas as an example; running with settings set to Ultra High Quality, mostly pegs 60 FPS, occasionally drops to 40ish, but with those settings it looks better than I remember. I think this would also be a great choice if you are just looking for a cheap PC that you don’t ever intend on using for hardcore gaming but instead use it for basic tasks, web browsing, e-mails, etc. (similar to a cheaper laptop). Bottom line here, it’s a really good product and a great value for the price, just understand its limitations.

Great power for a budget PC but needs a fresh Windows install
Upsides: -Very small form factor. It fits well in the corner of my desk and doesn’t take up much space. -This thing looks incredible. I wanted a small form factor PC and really wanted something that looked nice. I like the dark modern design and angled reflective beveling design features on the top. Most of the other Beelink PCs I saw had a red power button and I like that this one is black to match the body. -Decent value for the money. On sale or with a discount this provides a pretty decent value. The newer models offer newer hardware and are close enough in price that depending on your use case I might recommend going for the SER7 versus this SER6. -Fan noise isn’t too bad especially under normal operation. When playing games, which it handles surprisingly well, the noise is reasonable. The fan is non-standard which means it may be difficult to replace or upgrade without contacting Beelink. -It can be powered via the USB-C port on the back. This is huge for me. There is a “proprietary” coxial plug power supply that can be easily replaced with a generic one with the same specs however being able to use a standard USB-C cable to power it provides a huge amount of flexibility.Downsides: -There is something weird/broken with the Windows image mine shipped with. I noticed other reviews mentioned this unfortunately only after I’d figured it out as well. It is setup to force a local account which I love however I ran in to weird permissions issues installing stuff that required some complicated workarounds that weren’t clearly documented all in one place that I could find. I’d recommend creating a Windows install media and doing a fresh install on the machine before you use it. -The device takes up to 15-20 seconds to wake up from sleep mode which is a bit longer than I’d like but not excessive.

First and foremost, this is a great machine. Period. Its fast, reliable, and returnable.Why did I type that? I’ll tell you. The SER 7 is out and is much faster, has a second USB4 port (Both latest gen), and is more power-sipping than power-hungry.There are two reasons as to why I sent this SER6 back. One, the price was higher than the newer, just-released SER 7. I literally had the SER7 pop up after I purchased the SER6. The second reason was present in the SER7 as well: I had to set the computer up, restore it, and set it up again. Why? I believe it has something to do with BeeLink’s imaging process. A restore completely reinstills the operating system, allowing both units to operate as intended.Ok, here is the review of the actual unit.It’s impressive what’s crammed into this small form factor. The R9 6900 is a great CPU, but the GPU is always lacking in these instances. Since it shares memory with the CPU, the GPU is very limited. However, this is a great machine if you add an eGPU. The USB4 port is more than capable of an eGPU use, but my problem was there was only one and I use an external TB3 SSD, so I had a choice to either use an eGPU or the SSD. This was the ultimate deciding factor in sending the unit back. Don’t take this as a “do not buy” review. but again, I will point out the newer SER 7 for similar or lower pricing. The R9 in the SER 6 is lesser than the R7 in the SER7, and that would be what I recommend over this SER6 Max.Either way, SER6 or SER7, you will be happy, just think about setting the computer up and immediately restore it to factory and set it up again. Wait until all Windows Updates are installed before you start installing your software and games. You’ll be happier.
