    Fast processing surface
Bright screen surface pro with very good battery life. Light weight with 4g capabilities and an Intel i5 processor. Expand storage capacity with micro SD card. Unit looks brand new but was missing the tool to open sim card slot.

    Frustrating Junk.
Ive had this device for 2 days and I have spent half of that time trying to resolve issues with it.Needed this for trip overseas and bought it specifically for the esim and LTE data feature.Esim wont register with any provider, gives error. I think cellular modem is bad. I have reset, upgraded windows, Updated Surface OS eveything to no avail. Now I’m leaving in 3 days and not enough tiome to send the junk back.If I sound upset you guessed right. They shipped it with Windows 10 1809 that refused to update. Had to do an in place upgrade fisrt before I could download and install Surface OS driver updates. Least they could have done was refresh it and upgrade Windows 10 beyond a 5 year old release.I’m an IT professional. I cant imagine what a lay person would do.

Bought (refurbished) Surface just to use `fastboot` for Pixel 6, but found none of the ROMs are cool
Chose this (Surface) to use due to: has SIM slot for internet (was able to use this,)low cost (was able to afford this,)small (am homeless, not much room in backpack, but this uses little room,)fast (6nm dual core 2ghz CPU, lots of RAM, flash disc,)but found that none of the ROM’s are cool; thought would goto Ubuntu Touch, but found that Ubuntu Touch cannot use Dalvik packages (such as Sakura School,) nor Aptitude (normal Ubuntu apps), and that TWRP does not exist for Pixel 6, and that Magisc requires a custom ROM or TWRP for Pixel 6, and that none of the other custom ROMs come close to a desktop operating system (switch to desktop OS + use keyboard/mouse — through Bluetooth — was the sole purpose of `fastboot`.)Thus now will just use this as desktop, unless a cool ROM is found soon. The Pixel 6 and Microsoft Surface have similar cost, lithium runtime, CPU power, RAM, and disc storage room.Would rather have phone with desktop OS; phone + keyboard/mouse (Bluetooth) can fit in pockets of shorts, but Microsoft Surface uses too much physical room to.Can replace Windows with Ubuntu, but it is more effort to execute Windows programs in WINE (with Linux host) than to execute Linux programs in VirtualBox + Ubuntu.

    Cams in like new condition.
No difference in quality between this and a brand new one.

    VERY SURPRISED AND EXTREMELY PLEASED!
Like anyone, I am reluctant to buy renewed/refurbished items, not so much because of the item itself but because of the people doing the rebuild or the refurbishment.Throughout my life, it’s been about a 50/50 proposition. I will say that most of the items I have bought renewed from Amazon were great, and this one is no exception. It doesn’t even look like it’s ever been used. There are no scratches, scuff marks, discoloration, or physical or cosmetic defects whatsoever! The display is crystal clear with no scratches, no dead pixels, and no areas of less clarity.Given that the unit is an older model, it has worked flawlessly. All of the updates loaded flawlessly. I have stressed it out by transferring gigabytes of files from my older unit to it and some CPU-intensive programs. The only thing I found slightly troublesome was getting the cellular part of it to work. The E-Sim app that comes loaded on the computer which is by the company Ubigi, is flawed because there is no way to sign up with this company using the computer itself. It’s an endless circle of trying to sign up for new service from the computer when it asks you to close out the Wi-Fi, while not connected to cellular service. But that’s not a problem because I had my own SIM card from another carrier. Now even after I inserted my SIM card it recognized the SIM card and the carrier but did not want to work until I set up a new profile and gave it a different name. Then it worked perfectly! I just wasted so much time trying to get the E-Sim app to work.Beyond that, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the unit, and the cosmetic look of the unit, and was thoroughly impressed that it packaged very well even the AC adapter seems to be brand-new and is an actual Microsoft adapter!Given the fact this is the first day and everything so far is going very well, I will post an update after I use it for a while.Addendum – this is the third day and I am noticing how slow this unit is. I don’t have any programs on it (less than 20) and sometimes it takes quite a while, 40 seconds to one minute, to even open the task manager or even a program. I am only using less than 50 GB of the 239 GB allotted after formatting, and he also noticed this unit runs really hot even when it’s idling. So I adjusted the power settings to maximum performance and the intermittent stopping of YouTube videos or Tik-Tok videos has largely stopped, but it still does it. I will monitor this for a few more days and if it continues, I may have to return it as the increased temperature may be causing problems for the processor or the fans aren’t working.UPDATE: I promised an update and here is.Had to return this device!Over the course of the next few days and without loading any more software, this device ran progressively slower. It has gotten to a point where even on high-speed Wi-Fi it was loading pages slower than dial-up back in the 80s! Even with the unit turned off it continued to apparently drain the battery. The next time I started it up, from a cold shutdown the battery was less than 20%, and I had charged it completely before shutting it down the previous day!Although cosmetically perfect this thing clearly had issues! I would have tried another device but it did not offer that option and in its current form it was totally useless to me, so I returned it. All that glitters is not gold!

    Not 7th gen, as advertised
I’ve had my tablet for about 18 months and have been pretty happy with its performance. I ordered a replacement component for a 7th gen surface, cause that’s what I thought i had. Not compatible with my tablet. Customer service with the parts company helped me positively identify the unit I possess as a 5th generation. This tablet uses a 7th gen i5 processor. I see where their description is correct. I also reviewed the listing in its entirety and cannot find anything which properly identifies the tablet for sale to the buyer.Fine product if you know what you’re buying. I have regret.
