    What a great simple solution
The sound card on my Alienware PC suddenly died. I didn’t feel like buying a new sound card and installing it, so got this USB adapter instead. Works great! Installation time was about one minute, and all I had to do was to go into my sound settings and select Speakers – USB audio device. Sound is as good as it was with my old sound card. I won’t be using the microphone input, so didn’t care about that and can’t comment on it. Great, simple, easy, cheap solution.

    Works well; great small size
My last USB audio adapter and PC speaker were fried in a recent lightning storm, so I bought this one to replace it along with a new speaker. It hangs from a USB hub (the included cable was helpful for that case), and was easily detected and installed by my PC. NOTE: After installing the adapter and my new speaker, I was initially underwhelmed and wasn’t sure if the new speaker or the audio adapter was to blame (both had great reviews). I then went into (Windows) Control Panel->Sounds and enabled the audio enhancements like bass boost and loudness equalization and that made a huge difference. It sounded so much better after enabling those settings, and now I am completely pleased with this and my new speaker.

Works Great but may need reinforcement
Overall I am quite happy with this product. Not only does it allow me to use a separate set of headphones with my Lenovo W550S Thinkpad laptop, but it also allows me to plug in a separate audio source. This is useful both in my daily studies and work, as I enjoy listening to music while working, and it also allows me to record things directly without a USB equipped audio device. One example of this is my Numark turntable which I am able to use to record vinyl directly to my laptop using an RCA to 1/8″ stereo adapter now. This would not have been possible before as my laptop is only equipped with a combination TRRS (tip ring ring send) headset connector intended for headphones with an integrated microphone.
The product came in an attractive package that was easy to open. I plugged the device into my USB hub that is linked to my laptop, and without any driver installation or setup, it functioned flawlessly. The device was well constructed and the jacks fit tightly as they should. Sadly I overlooked how the normally unused USB port on my USB hub was very tight due to it’s history of disuse, and upon attempting to pull the USB audio output out from the USB slot, it came apart.
Upon gluing the enclosure back on with a few drops of CA super glue, I was able to plug it back in and use it as I just had before.
When looking inside of the device, I noticed that it had a very good build quality, with no noticeable flaws or issues.
The aluminum housing is very nice and came to me with no flaws or marks.
Besides the housing falling apart due to some minor strain, the item still works flawlessly and I am quite happy with it.

Well-build device that performs as described- Good for Laptops with a single or broken 3.5 mm port
This is a well-built, sturdy device that does exactly what is advertised in the description. It is a device that allows one to plug in a 3.5 mm wired speaker or other sound device, and a 3.5 mm wired microphone using up one USB port. It is a plug and play device, meaning that no drivers are required to use it.
It is important to know that this device is an adapter, not a USB sound card. This means that there is no equalizer software or virtual 5.1/7.1 surround sound. If you want those features of a USB sound card, then buy one instead. An 8$ sound adapter cannot be compared to a $30 sound card.
What this adapter is good for is providing a speaker and microphone jack for laptops that have a single combined microphone/speaker port that are intended for earbuds with built in mics. My laptop (Dell XPS 13) has this combo port, so this adapter will allow me to use my headset and microphone that have separate wires. In a pinch, this device can also be used to provide audio ports when the built in ports on a laptop or computer become broken and unusable.
This particular USB Sound adapter comes with a 2 foot USB extension cable, useful for extending the length of a speaker and/or microphone wire. It is a well built, aluminum body USB sound adapter that does the job. I myself have purchased this device twice over the past year. One for a laptop with a single 3.5 mm port, and one for a laptop whose speaker port broke and is out of warranty. I would recommend this particular model to those who comes across one of those situations that can be solved with a USB adapter.

    It worked
Simple plug in, works great. I use it with Windows 10 on an industrial computer that doesn’t have a sound card. Now we have AV to review machine instruction when needed. Cost less than a cup of smoothie.

    Consigliatissimo acquisto senza riserve.

Funciona correctamente.

I needed this as a workaround for an iMac 21.5 (late 2013, running macOS Mojave 10.14.5) where the right speaker was no longer working and also the headphone socket wasn’t either…
When plugged in for the first time it will show up straight away under the Output Device list as ‘USB Audio Device’. If you have the volume icon on your task bar, click it and you’ll see it listed. Otherwise go to your System Preferences > Sound settings and you’ll see it there. Make sure you select ‘USB Audio Device’ in the Output tab to enable it, similarly if you use the Sabrent’s mic-in socket ensure you also go to the Input tab and select ‘USB Audio Device’ there too.
I also bought the Bose Companion 2 Series III speakers to use with this USB adapter and the sound quality using both sounds superb to me, much better than the built in iMac speakers. The sound quality is so good I would also say it sounds better than the old Creative 7.1 surround system I have for my PC! The sound scape from only two speakers is very convincing, general sound appears to be coming directly from in front of you whilst left/right sound effects are very clearly separated/sourced. As it’s all running through this Sabrent USB adapter it’s safe to say its working very well.
One word of caution though: When I first plugged in the speakers I could immediately hear a buzzing sound which I thought might be some sort of software problem or feedback issue. After messing about with software settings for ages I had to give up with trying to fix things that way. Instead, I unplugged the USB adapter completely, plugged it back in again then made sure I pushed the speaker audio cable fully into the USB adapter. This fixed the buzzing issue and it’s been fine ever since.
All round a great buy for a very reasonable price!

Works very easily, just plug it in and it works. Has been supported in the Linux Kernel since version 2.6, so it’ll work in anything.
