Meets and/or excceeds customer expectations. Litterally.
These blew me away the first time I listened to them and they look very stylish and modern. No, they are not the greenish yellow you see in the picture, just yellow but they still look very good and stand out from the other rivals. Before these I had a pair of rasta colored Skullcandy clip-on-ear earbuds which were good, but sound quality wore out easily even just after a few months, they hurt after maybe a half hour of continuous use, and while they held on well, they sat on your ear in such a way that you can hear EVERYTHING around you and it made it hard to hear the music. I wanted to buy a regular earbud version like these but as Skullcandy’s. Don’t get me wrong; Skullcandy makes excellent over-ears with great quality but for running, they just seem to lack the X factor. After reading the reviews of the Skullcandy earbuds (and how poorly durable they are), I scrachted trying to look for those in the $15 range. I found these and didn’t think much of them at the time. But with deeper search into these, I decided to take a chance with these. I know, there are a cheaper version of these but if you do not mind an extra $3, these have better sound, durability, and styling. Here are pros and cons to these to sum up real quick. Pros:-Superb sound, even for earbuds.-Look great and almost cool.-They’re not Beats so you’re paying for quality, not the logo.-Long cord, good for exercising.-About 75% noise cancelling. Really!-They are from Sony so you know you’ll get a good long life out of these. Cons:-None so far! These are amazing in every way and at about $12 they are good value. Do not waste money on crummy earbuds with a “b” logo on them or ones that have fifty colors and a skull on them. Don’t get the ones that are a few dollars less please because the money is seriously worth it. Do the math: Great sound + Great durability + Great value = Happy customer.I hope my review was helpful to many and I hope to post an update in a few months.UPDATE 9/3/14Still using these, still working fine, get compliments all the time on how they look. Again, these cancel noise unlike any other type of earbud, so when the family wants to listen to a radio station I hate in the car, I just plug these in and I literally do not hear a peep from anything but the great quality of the music. And I have no idea why people are complaining about the bass. Okay, first of all, they are earbuds. Yes, the sound quality is good, but it is hard to get much bass from any type of earbud. And secondly, most iPods and phones have a setting in which you can adjust the EQ. That’s what I do on my iPod. I just click “bass booster” and it works fine. I have also noticed that these can get pretty loud for their size, not that I turn the volume up very high, though. The only con I can see is that I wish they had a mic. But, that would make the price go up ruining the great value. I still rate these a five and still recommend them for anyone looking for good earbuds. I cannot stress enough how much quality you get for the price of these. They are just simply amazing little things. I hope to post more updates as the months pass.

Can’t complain! ****UPDATED****
Overall, I like them! I’ll break down my review in three parts.AUDIO:Like everyone says, these do have surprisingly decent bass! They’re great for just about all genres except for heavy metal. Unfortunately, that’s my favorite genre! The mids leave a lot to be desired as far as depth and detail go. That nicks one star for me. But, these were only $16 so I honestly can’t complain. They get the job done and I can still belt my heart out to death metal tunes at very high volumes, so they fit my needs very well. Did I mention they are loud??? You’ll like them if you listen to EDM, hip-hop, piano, whatever. This handles it all with satisfying results.DURABILITY:I mainly bought these earbuds because they were Sony, and they have a good track record with me on durability. Thankfully, these earphones are no exception! They seem well-put together, if not ultra-high-end. I’ll update my review if anything changes, but I’m happy for now. Since they have a 1-year warranty, I feel like I can rest easy knowing that these buds will last, which is not always true of the most expensive pairs sometimes!DESIGN:More things worth noting: I use these earphones for running, and they DON’T fall out!!! With 3 different-sized pairs of inserts, I think you will be covered in this department as well. I was ALSO happy to find out was that they were very comfortable to wear while laying down. This is the first pair of earphones I’ve owned, EVER, where I can claim that. They are so tiny, snug and weightless that I don’t feel them at all, even after extended use. And of course aesthetically, they are very pleasing. The bold red and black is very stylish and hip.VERDICT:Get these if you’re sick of your more expensive (or dirt-cheap) earbuds failing on you all the time, and you don’t mind sacrificing a little on audio quality for something that’s better designed and will last for less than $20. These are a great daily driver and they are good to sleep in, run with, or take with you anywhere. There is no mic or anything fancy like a volume adjuster or bluetooth, but who cares?UPDATE:I recently found an older, more expensive pair ( Sony MDR-EX100AP/L In-Ear Headset for Android Smartphone, Blue ) of Sony earbuds and compared the audio. I was actually shocked to discover I enjoyed these MORE overall!!!! The sound was punchier and a lot more fun to listen to with compelling bass. I learned the mids weren’t really that bad in comparison, and decided I would STILL use these more for all the extra value they provided throughout daily use. The cords even tangle less. So after my verdict, I decided it wasn’t fair to keep my review at 4 stars and bumped it up to 5!!!

…Just horrible.
I’ve purchased Sony headphones in the past and they seem to have a self-destruct button at about 2 years. The first pair were amazing, great bass and treble – they broke. Those headphones were about $40. So, keeping that in mind, I got on amazon to find a similar pair around the same price, found them – again, great headphones. But again, a year and half later, earpiece stops working. So, I get on Amazon again, to look for similar headphones, I come across these. These were $20, I couldn’t find $40 earbuds, so I went with these. These are horrible, I gave them away. First, it has the typical L, M, S rubber ear pieces, the other two Sony headphones I used the M, but M wouldn’t fit, so I tried S. After awhile, the S would fall out of my ear. It’s not the rubber ear piece thing, but the length of the ear insert part and the width of the base, it doesn’t allow you to put all the way in your ear. If you look at the picture, that webbing part, its wide, it will start to hurt after extended wear. That’s if you wear them and don’t mind the horrible sound. If you like bass and I don’t mean all bass, but a balance of sound with bass, then you going to hate these. There is absolutely no bass what-so-ever. The treble sounds screechy. The cord is gray and each ear piece is on equal length of wire from separator. I mention this because the other headphones I purchased, the left earbud was always on the shorter wire, so you could put the correct earbud in each ear without looking at the letters on the earbud. These you definitely will have to look.

These fit my ears like they were made for them. The sound quality is awesome.Haven’t had them long enough to talk longevity but so far so good.Sony has a great rep.

Seriously, best bass depth/impact, overall response and clarity I’ve heard in headphones under 30$. Unless you’re a right hardcore music lover who wants the best of the best of the best (and you’ll probably be buying something my Bose of Sennheiser in this case), these earbuds are a very, very solid option.

totally worth a purchase. If you are looking for a good value and a good price to match, these are a great choice.

I bought these earbuds based on the reviews here that raved about the sound quality. Sadly, the sound quality is just average. They have very low response in the low end. Sound is tinny, and lacking in depth. My 8 year old sony earbuds that recently stopped working were way better, but of course they were more than twice the money originally. I also don’t like the shape of these earbuds. I find them hard to hold onto when placing them in my ear. In short, if you think these are as good as earbuds twice the cost, well they are simply not.
