Simple and does the trick, I am a fan.
[5 month update]:Still going. I expected it to die by now to be honest, but its still good to go.Nothing exciting to report other than cleaning it with alcohol wipes or windex will always treat you better than most other cleaners.[2 month update]:20k or so miles later and Iâm still loving the flap. Admittedly Iâm excited about trying the new Airhook 2.0 – the Flap is still a Simple concept, gets no grief from the TSA, and disappears into my bag behind my notebook every time.Works great at holding up phones, battery packs and even headphones (not all at the same time).I can see why people have problems with âtearingâ it, you just need to be careful and remember not to jam it if there isnât enough clearance behind the tray. Also remember, the closer to the edge the more flex in the tray.Great product.[Original Review]:As an avid Airhook user I was looking for something a little slimmer to stick in my bag with more flexibility and the Flight Flap delivers. Its super light, holds up my phone, offers no TSA hassle, no stewardess grief, and it slides into my bag next to my notebook just fine.My primary usage for this while flying is with an iPhone in landscape mode, watching movies and connected to power, or in portrait mode with music playing (either of these is with bluetooth headphones). It supports both of these usage modes very well. The flap is nice because as it claims, you can build a tray-stand if your meal tray is down, or you can fold your tray up and (on some planes) tuck it behind. Out near the edge works better btw as the flex in the meal tray helps. For me, I have found the “magazine pocket” to be the best spot for me. Stick 1/2 of it down behind the magazines and bend the other half around like a tray and voila. If you have a first class seat this usually means you can use your meal tray and still watch your device.I have not tried it with an iPad so I cannot speak to that, and I should also point out that your phone is only resting on this. Unlike the Airhook or Joby products there is no ‘grip’ holding the device in place so it is possible that it could bounce off if you have a lot of turbulence or you don’t leave a big enough lip when you bend it.I have not had issues with it getting ripped as others have reported but I have not used it in tight clearance spaces that much yet either. Will update this review accordingly if my experience changes. Absolutely perfect!!
I wish I had taken photos because this was amazing on our trip, holding my big iPad Pro!! We were on two different planes and I got two different uses, both on Southwest. Our first flight was on a newer plane that had the pocket for the emergency info above the tray table. While I couldn’t secure the tray table with the Flight Flap in it, it was absolutely stable using the documentation pocket! Second trip was on an older plane with the net underneath the tray table. On this one I had no problem securing the Flight Flap in the tray table.There was a small learning curve figuring out the best way to bend the Flight Flap, but once I had it, my iPad Pro was held solidly and securely!! Even with fidgety passengers in the seats in front of me and turbulence, through take off and landing. My iPad didn’t move a bit and I enjoyed being able to use my tray table for my knitting, drink, etc.I was then able to easily flatten it back down to tuck into my backpack in the tablet pocket. This will be getting loads of use!!

Great for traveling or using in the home or car
It wasn’t quite what I expected regarding the material it is made from, but once I folded it in the correct position to hold my phone, it seemed to be very sturdy for what I am using it for. I purchased this to use on the airplane when I travel this summer. I like that I can just tuck the back piece into the pocket of the seat in front of me, and then put my cell phone on the stand portion. It holds my phone with no problems & leaves me hands-free. I have been using it at home as well, putting my phone on it as I eat breakfast or sitting at the computer.

Exactly What I Wanted
This is exactly what I wanted. It sits perfectly on the treadmills at my gym, so I can watch videos without looking down. I also used it on a recent flight and it worked perfectly as well. Very well made, flexible, and soft material. Holds an iPhone 14 with no issue. Good price for such a product as well.

Travel specific use is best. Nice that it can bend into multiple shapes. Works for a phone and possibly a small tablet. However, a large iPad is too heavy for it to hold. There are probably better options out there.
