I love that it have a lot of fan headers, rgb headers, and usb headers. Tbh it has more headers than other mobo worth more than 200$ that I had before

Fast
I replaced a Gigabyte motherboard that died. I’m glad I chose the MSI Tomahawk. This board is fast. I used the same I7-13700 processor and performance is much improved on the MSI board.

Bought for a new z790 build. Works great
I started a new build and have been lucky with msi boards. I’ve usually bought their pro a boards. This board was a little cheaper with rgb and wifi but similar otherwise. After reading reviews I purchased. I was able to update the Bios out of the case easily. The board runs well and looks great. The one big complaint I have is to ddr5 ram is hard to get in place right. Only one side opens so it is a pain to get it seated correctly. I am not sure why only one side clicks open. Is it because the board is cheaper? Once seated correctly the board has been great.

Squirelly behavior; Unstable
Not sure if I got a bad board or the BIOS is just crap but I experienced various odd behavior and wound up swapping it for a Gigabyte. It wouldnt support my Rosewill cherry MX blue keyboard that i’ve had for like a decade until I adjusted some kind of WAKE BY OS vs WAKE BY BIOS setting. It doesn’t truly support the DDR5 @ 5200 Mhz with my Corsair RAM even though its verified and on the QVL (CMK64GX5M2B5200C40). If you turn on the XMP its just a black screen until you get into Windows. You can’t get at the BIOS settings on a reboot; cold boot only. Freaking weird. It also results in any kind of preboot environment not being visible. Like Windows Memory Diag tool etc because you reboot into it and you just get a black screen. I was pulling my hair out with this thing; I had figured initially it was a video card issue but same behavior with onboard video.Just all kinds of odd behavior beyond the keyboard; my USB extension cable wasnt working right. It also shipped with like the launch bios so I had to upgrade it out of the box to get support for 14th gen ….thats not the end of the world, but just a really bad experience. It also didnt come with any kind of “convenience block” for the front panel headers that many boards do. Not much LEDs not that that is a huge deal. This is a cheapo board acting like a pricey one. I have had MSI products in the past without issue but I would recommend steering away from this one.Unstable.

Came with no setup drivers. Would not accept Windows 10 OS. Finally found correct drivers but MB would not accept them. Without internet access cannot set up. MSI support ABSOLUTELY ZERO. They wanted $39.95 just to start. The other MSI board was even WORSE with the same problems. DO NOT BUY!! NOT USER FRIENDLY. NEITHER IS MSI PRODUCT SUPPORT. ( UPDATE , June 15th ), Finally got it to accept Windows 10 Pro & internet connection but now “no Operating System & WIFI has DIED. Says “no connections available”. Heating up. Comes on by itself sometimes & won’t shut down. Have to unplug it to turn it off. This MSI board is now doing the same thing the other one that I returned did. (Just took a little longer. There is DEFINITELY something VERY WRONG with these boards. Will attempt to return.

Disappointed with MSI’s Quality Control and Customer Support
I am deeply disappointed with MSI’s quality assurance, especially for high-end products like the Z790 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard. I purchased this motherboard as a gift, trusting MSI’s reputation for quality, but it arrived defective with a faulty Z790 chipsetâa critical issue confirmed by MSI Vietnamâs diagnosis.Whatâs worse is the experience with MSI in the U.S.: despite the premium price, their quality control clearly failed. As a loyal customer who chose MSI over competitors for reliability, I expected far better from their manufacturing and support processes.Itâs unacceptable for a product in this price range to fail out of the box. While MSI Vietnam handled the situation with professionalism, this incident raises serious concerns about the oversight and accountability of MSI’s U.S. operations.I urge MSI to reassess their quality control and ensure better customer experiences worldwide, especially when customers are paying top dollar for what should be premium hardware.

Gran trabajo.Sin un solo problemas salvo…porque no hay nada perfecto en esta vida…que si quieres WIFI y poder disfrutar de su 7.0 tendrás que instalar Windows 11 y solucionar fácilmente el problema actualizando de paso el aspecto de tu SO. Y puedes sufrir problemas con tu M2 gen 5 + GPU por los 16 lanes …échale un ojo si es tu caso.Como nada es perfecto, le pongo un 9.5 ya que en mi caso Windows 11 soluciona el problema del wifi, las temperaturas son bajÃsimas gracias a los disipadores la estabilidad es absoluta, OC de calidad y completÃsimo, conectores y puertos perfectamente ubicados.Si la consigues cercana a los 200 euros será una compra de 10 y para muchos años.Felicidades MSI.
