Easy, inexpensive route to better Mac performance
I’d thought about upgrading my iMac memory beyond the standard 8 gigs, but what got me off the dime was recent reviews of the new gen iMacs and how much better off I am with a 4 yr. old model. I invest a few bucks to boost from 8 to 40 gigabytes, and I can stop paying attention to Apple sales pitches for a product (a new iMac) that is noticeably less in all regards. Whatever advantage a native Apple chip gives over Intel’s becomes far less significant than the performance boost of simply adding 32 gigs of RAM. Oh yeah, installation is incredibly easy. I know, most of us have never even looked at that memory hatch above the power chordâwhy would we?âbut it’s very, very simple to open up, pop in a couple RAM cards, and get back to work.I have no idea if one brand of RAM kit is better or more reliable than another. They all come with a similar assurance that their modules undergo quality assurance testing to ensure dependable and reliable performance, and A-Tech provides a Lifetime Warranty for all orders & offers complimentary United States based Tech Support before, during, & after your purchase. I believe A-Tech was the lowest priced I saw on Amazon. BTW, the price went down in the month or so that I was dithering about the purchase.

I needed to add RAM to my 2017 iMac. The price was great and it was easy to install, once I realized I needed more overhead light to see down into the slots. I would also recommend reading the online directions from Apple before you buy – very helpful.

Aumenta la capacidad de tu viejo Imac 2017 4k
Aunque fue dificil de cambiar en mi Imac 2017 4k, ya que al parecer apple va en el camino de “no se metan adentro de apple” (en contra de toda la tendencia de economÃa circular), funcionó mejor de lo esperado, ya que estoy usando programas más pesados usando una partición para apple, que uso mucho y una partición windows a través de Bootcamp, para usar MS PowerBI. Todo ha funcionado mejor desde que lo instalé, eso sumado al SSD de 1TB, ha sido excelente inversión para darle unos años más de uso. Quizás algún dia cambie el Core i5 de 7ma generación por un i7 7700.

Works well, but was installation was trial and error
I wanted to expand RAM my 2017 iMac 27″ from two 8GB chips that came installed when I bought the computer. I recently bought 16GB A-Tech 16 (2x8GB) RAM. I spent a lot of time trying to learn which slots in the iMac to put the two new chips. On first try to install the two chips, the iMac did not reboot. More time was spent trying to figure out what to so. I removed both chips and the iMac booted up and worked fine. After that, it was a matter of trial and error to install and seat the chips. Finally, after about three attempts, I found a combination that worked and the iMac booted. It has been working fine since then. It may have been that I did not fully seat the chips in the slots on earlier attempts.
