Full trust in MeanWell
I made the mistake of buying brick power supplies for my studio light project (LED strips), they are junk as don’t hold voltage at 80% of the rated max load. (12v down to 10.5v!). At just a few more dollars and a little bit more DIY the Mean Well is so much better. With this one I am pulling 7amps at 12v with a rock solid 12v meter reading. The frame does get hot to the touch, burning fingers hot! But knowing Mean Well’s quality I am not concerned about the hot MOSFETs (pending I keep the PSU in open air.) However, I am still going to install a 50mm or 60mm fan in my project for 100% peace of mind. Seriously, unless you need 100% turn key and going to use at max 50% of power rating, always go with an authentic Mean Well.

Meanwell works well.
No issues or problems with this power supply. Needed it to run an external cooling fan when an AC circuit turned on. Adjustable and inexpensive. Note: I didnt scope this to see how much ripple it has. Its running a DC fan so I’m not to concerned about it.

An effective power supply with good characteristics
Good voltage regulation from low to full load. The voltage can be adjusted over a small range. Not a lot of switching noise. Good connections. Does not seem to be any electrical leakage from the power line to the case. Pretty good value, what you expect from Mean Well supplies.

Excellent Value – nice compact 12V Supply
I bought this as a 12V driver for a number of Echo Dots mounted in-wall throughout my homeAt 1.25A per Dot , that is only 6.25A (max) for 5 Dots, so plenty of overhead in this nice Unit.Overall I’m pretty pleased – it has a nice form factor and dual +/- outputs; I do appreciate the LED that shows when it is powered.There are a couple of minor things that could be improved:The first is the lack of a cover strip for the Terminals – the 120V terminals are exposed and particularly the Line terminal is at the very corner where you would screw mount it. I’d really like to see a cover strip that clips over the exposed terminals, just for additional safety.The second is possibly just this module – it ‘buzzes’ – I think it’s the transformer resonating. I’m not too worried about it as it goes inside a wall (behind a removable panel) but still, should mention it.But I’m still pleased with it – it’s a nice little supply at a great price.

I chose this unit specifically to fit into an existing enclosure. It is nearly twice the advertised size. Not happy. That having been said, it makes 12vdc.

Good quality power supply
Well built – I had a look inside in the process of isolating the AC-input terminals.Regulates nicely, at least a 60% load doesn’t perturb the output voltage more than 0.1V if that.But like many of its cousins, AC input is on an exposed barrier strip right next to the outputs. I’ve had some of these that provide a modicum of protection via a hinged plastic lid, but these do not. Five stars anyway because I don’t give much safety credit to that lid. Of course you can use them the ‘right way’ inside a sealed box (remembering to deal with the thermal consequences); I prefer to isolate those terminals and add a solder a power cord to the connections internally.

Mean well is built well, solid construction and performance.
I use the RS-15-5 to power a Raspberry Pi 3 and 7 inch touch screen with several other I/O modules. It is ruggedly built and the 3 amp rating is achievable, no exaggeration on that number. My application pulls 2 amps continuous duty (24/7) and this supply loafs along staying cool. I have this supply in multiple similar projects.

I have ordered multiple Mean Well supplies in the past and never had a complaint. However, this time the box was labeled correctly (LRS-150-12) but the manufacturer put the wrong supply in the box (LRS-150-24). I contacted the seller and explained the issue with the labels and they corrected the problem immediately. The proper supply was delivered to me the next day! I can’t say enough of how great the customer service was!

Actual model 5v 3A has only one port for supply out and is 1/3 of the size shown in the picture.Those who think it has got 2 outputs will be disappointed when it arrives , with only one output port, if they desired to have 2 ports for output as in the wrongly posted picture of another model.
