“USB 3.0 Docking Station with Power Adapter (and Dual Monitor Function)
IOGEAR’S USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station quickly and easily transforms your laptop, Ultrabook or Microsoft Surface Pro tablet into a full-featured workstation. This universal dock is an all-in-one solution to the latest port-deficient laptops and tablets. It allows you to connect as many as 10 devices to your laptop through a single high speed USB 3.0 cable that offers speeds up to ten times faster than the previous USB 2.0 standard. With support for dual monitors, Gigabit Ethernet, 6 USB ports, plus microphone and speaker connections, the USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station connects you to all your peripherals so that you can completely mobilize your customized home office. It also comes with its own power adapter so that you can connect and power all your USB devices without a worry.
Optimal Productivity
The USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station has connections to suit virtually every application. The dock gives you HDMI and DVI connections that can support a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It also has a gigabit Ethernet port, six USB ports (two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0), and audio input/output jacks for headsets or speakers. Now you can easily add a full-sized keyboard and mouse, external hard drives, printers, webcams, etc. to turn your laptop into a complete workstation. Although this universal dock is equipped to take advantage of USB 3.0 Super Speed technology, it is fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices. And since the connections from all your peripheral devices are consolidated to your computer through a single USB 3.0 cable, disconnecting only takes removing one plug.
Ideal for the Latest Tablets
Ultra-portable tablets are ideal when you’re on the go but their performance is restricted due to their limited connectivity. With the power of IOGEAR’s USB 3.0 Docking Station and Windows 8.1 Pro, tablets are now ready to replace your home PC. When it’s time to go from leisure time to work time, just plug your Windows 8.1 Pro enabled tablet into the IOGEAR USB 3.0 Docking Station and it becomes your full-blown work center! Now you have a complete home office suitable for nearly any task.

Easy set up
I needed to set up another work space so I purchased another one of these. Both have worked as expected and were easy to install.

Great dock. light and portable.
This thing is a life saver. A quick and easy way to have a multiple monitor setup. Whats even better is that it allows my laptop screen to function as a 3rd display, which my docking station at work can’t do. That’s what I really bought this for. The pluses are additional USB ports, which are great because my laptop only has 2 USB3 ports. The 4 USB2 ports are good for a mouse and keyboard and other USB2 devices. I haven’t used the ethernet yet, since I haven’t run a cable from my modem. No on/off switch, but I use the switch on my power conditioner which also turns off my monitors and speakers, so I dont miss it at all.The multiple display was easy. Pretty much plug and play. Well, that is after I got them plugged in. Here’s the issue with this, not a major issue by any means, but easy to deal with if you know ahead of time. If neither of your monitors have HDMI input, you WILL need to use an adapter. If your DVI input does NOT have 4 holes for the 4 pins around the flat slot pin, you CANNOT use the adapters that come with it. I thought hey, since they also had a DVI to VGA, maybe i could use both of those adapters and basically have HDMI – to – DVI – to – VGA for one monitor. NOPE. The way the adapters are gendered (male/female) you cant couple them. Luckily I had a HDMI-to-DVI adapter of my own laying around, otherwise I would have had to order one and wait for it to arrive. Also, if you buy an adapter, if you can get one that has a female HDMI input. That way you can connect to the dock with HDMI cable and the adapter goes into the monitor. The spacing of the HDMI and DVI ports on the back of the dock makes for a super tight fit for bulky adapters. I barely squeezed mine there.Great purchase. Just first look at your monitor before placing your order. If you plan on using two monitors and neither of them have HDMI, then check for those 4 holes for the pins surrounding the flat pin. If they arent there, you will need to order your own HDMI-DVI adapter. You dont need anything expensive. It’ll suck if you have to wait for another delivery.

doesnt work
Greetings,This unit has been a real pain to work with.Getting it set up was a struggle. The extremely loose power connection and faulty web site.It worked for one day. Yesterday , it worked great!!This morning, not so much. The unit failed to recognize my other two monitors that were recognized yesterday. I have tried rebooting the unit, rebooting my laptop, swapping out the connection cable and nothing has worked. I have tried booting up the monitors after the laptop. I have tried booting up the monitors before I booted up the laptop. I have separated the unit into the hard drive section and the rest of the docking port and reconnected them. The laptop sees the hard drive in the base of the unit but nothing else. I have tried various sequences of booting up… laptop first, then docking station and then external monitors’. I tried docking station first, then laptop and monitors. I tried monitors, unit and then laptop. The hard drive in the docking station is visible and accessible but nothing else.I will be ordering another docking station but it wont be one from IOmega.Given the difficulties I went through to get this unit functional and now this.I can not and will not recommend this unit to anyone. If you’ve purchased one and it works, congratulations!!! I wish you luck.As for myself, I will find another docking station.

Our company has ordered multiple of these
Easy to set up, has multiple ports, and reliable. Our company has ordered several of these and have had no issues with any of them and some we have had over a year. Will order again.

My first hub. How did I ever live without it?
I had a USB hub years ago, that turned one port into four or five, and I thought that was pretty cool. But THIS is AMAZING. I’m new to setting up such an equipped home studio / office, and this hub truly has streamlined the configuration to just one USB that goes into my laptop. Ethernet cable, printer, mixer that connects the mics and guitar inputs to the amp/monitor, so that everything can run through the computer to Zoom-based performances! You will see the new music videos thanks to this hub soon on JanelleJazzSinger.com and also webinars on BetweenTheWaves.info. Stay well, everybody!

Lacking capabilities
Lacks support for ultra wide resolution (3440 x 1440) and built-in NIC doesn’t have driverless support for Linux (many other USB NIC are supported)

There seems to be a cultural thing with MacBooks that docking stations are not cool, while they might be tolerated with PC lapto
It took months of snooping around to get up the resolve to order this. But I have this unit plugged in as I type this review and have been using it for about a year. There seems to be a cultural thing with MacBooks that docking stations are not cool, while they might be tolerated with PC laptops. But, I use my MacBookPro with 3 external drives, some Bose speakers, an external keyboard, and a scanner, and the use of a docking station jsut saves a tremendous amount of time and hassle. I could not get mine to work with an external display, but in looking at Apple support on the web, this seems to be a common issue with MacBook that may not be related to the use of this dock. Overall, I am happy and would buy again…

Great solution for mobile computing!
This docking station was super easy to set up, and worked flawlessly right out of the box. Be sure to install the latest software updates before trying to use multiple monitors. We have a Dell laptop connected to two displays using the HDMI and DVI ports, along with several USB devices, and everything works great! So much easier to only have the power cord and one USB cable to plug into the laptop now!

Let me start by saying I have limited knowledge of computers, so trying to find a docking station on my own was a daunting task… Nowhere does this indicate this little guy will work with a chromebook, but I decided to take my chances. I connected it using a USB 3.0 connection to my Asus C202SA-YS02. I was expecting thorough disappointment, but was pleasantly surprised that it extended my desktop, and allowed me to hook up my bookshelf speakers too. I am very much looking forward to setting the whole thing up with my ergo keyboard, mouse and second monitor. Though it will only allow you to have an output of 2 usb 3.0 hubs before it drops to the 2.0 connection for all usb ports, it’s still a fantastic deal. I tried it out by watching a youtube video. This is a great option for a technically challenged person like me! 🙂 I got it on a deal where I saved about 10% of cost, but would be happy to pay full price. Just as a friendly FYI, This does not charge the stuff you plug into it like the docking stations I had used in the past.

Amazing deal by Amazon. Similar other products are CND 120+ but got it only for CND 75. Good product for desktop use, has 4 USB 3.0 ports compared to 2 in other products, also has a HDD case (haven’t used it). Iogear customer service claims it is UASP enabled. ‘Metal’ is more of a gimmick, doesn’t matter, there is no real need for a metal casing anyways.

A perfect laptop dock. It even works on my work laptop with only USB2 port. You can install the DisplayLink driver directly instead of the IOGear one, which is one version behind. In Win10, all drivers were loaded automatically. Installing the driver I believe just “updates” what’s on the WindowsUpdate. Plus it adds a not-really-useful icon. Windows 7 required me to install the driver to get Ethernet and display going. All in all this fits my needs perfectly.
