Quick machine
The unit arrived this morning. Well packaged (foamed in place in the box) and shipped quickly. This unit came from Stallion Tek. The exterior was clean with some minor scratches, but overall fit the description as a refurb. Popped the side panel off and checked under the hood. It has four 4 gb RAM modules instead of the two 8’s that some have received. I noted another reviewer had a problem with a wire that had gotten jammed into the cooling fan blade that woofed the power supply. In this case there were two wires (looked like supply power to the SSD) right against the fan housing so I took up some slack in the wiring and eased them back from the fan. Other than that little adjustment it looked fine.The unit came with a Displayport to VGA adaptor. I wanted HDMI and had ordered the adaptor so no big deal. It came with a power cord, keyboard, and wifi dongle, but no mouse. No big deal as I wasn’t going to use them anyway. It also didn’t come with the Windows 10 disc, something that was part of the package (I’ll follow up with Stallion Tek). Installed a Logitech wireless keyboard dongle into a usb port and started it up. It booted right up and setup was pretty simple.This is a quick machine! It has a little help as this one shipped with an I7 4790 processor (bonus)!I’m thoroughly happy with the unit straight out of the box. I own a few refurbed Optiplex pc’s for our business, and for the price you can’t beat them. They aren’t sexy but they are well built and last forever. I’m hoping to have the same experience with this one.

Good Value for Dollar
So far so good. Professionally packaged. Installed some basic software (office adobe etc). Opened the case and inspected heatsink etc for dust. Everything looked good. Works fine. Did some performance tests and nothing showed up. This was a great upgrade for my motherinlaw who’s demands are small. Probably more of a machine then what she will ever use not being a gamer. I am hoping this will be the last machine I need to buy for her.Has small footprint on her table top fitting easy between monitor and printer. Keyboard and mouse are cheap and went in a closet preferring to use her old ones but good as a backup.The plug in wifi is usb 150mbps so sufficient for low demand applications but sufficient for most things. This is not a gaming computer. You will have to upgrade the graphics card and your limited even there due to size of case and the slots available. Haven’t tried to run 4k but reviews on the igp say its pretty iffy.if your looking for a solid computer for low cost you cant beat this. Match the needs of the user carefully against the abilities of this computer due to the graphics capability. If you do this you will be happy. I am not saying you cant run games or stream video on this just that the higher resolutions and frame rates will be out of your reach, Will upgrade this review after a while as its still fresh outta the box.

Wifi dongle broke, but still good computer
I upgraded my parentsâ computer when their d Windows 8 desktop stopped connecting to WiFi. Used their old keyboard, mouse, and screen. This was a great purchase, affordable, faster, and with a newer OS.The only issue is that the WiFi dongle broke the second day. It would only work if you wiggled it around so I ended up just replacing it with another one from Amazon.Anyone who could use just a tower upgrade would be happy with this.

Tek Refurbs Is the One to Beat! Great Purchase!
I had an older computer that had Windows 7, which is no longer under support. Because of the improvements in hardware, they recommended purchasing a new computer with Windows 10, rather than buying the Windows 10 software and installing it on my old computer. The computer was superbly packed, and arrived in pristine condition. All the software was installed. The computer itself is nicely fast and compact, with a super fast boot. The WiFi capability has an antenna, and works flawlessly. (Another one without an antenna that I purchased previously, simply didn’t work). The computer came with a keyboard and mouse, which I thought were superfluous but allows me to use one computer to slave to my work computer, and the other computer to do research, or check email. This was a great purchase, and I’m considering buying another one!

Dead SSD, wrong Windows serial key
Booted it, looked like it would be fine… runs the Windows 10 setup, okay, I’m in. Looks nice, decently fast. Walk away for 10 minutes to let it finish setup, come back, whole PC is frozen. Huh. Hard reset, comes back fine, works for a bit, freezes. Hard reset. Try fully patching it and activating Windows (though the key given on the unit did not work for either Windows 10 Home or Pro, I have MSDN so I can try to work around that). Let it patch. Freezes. Hard reset. Start downloading Office, hoping that the freezes are related to it being previously unpatched. Wait a bit, message pops on the monitor saying the hard disk was not found. Gave up. Evidently the generic SSD they threw in here is a piece of junk.I was going to use this as a Christmas present for my brother, now I’ll have to use a spare SSD I have laying around and pray there’s nothing else wrong with it. I had already ordered a second unit as a Plex server, but if this is the quality I can expect from a “Certified Refurbished” unit, I’ll pass.Update: I attempted to cancel the order but the seller did not honor the cancellation and I just got a shipping notice. I’ll try and work with the second unit as a Plex server when it arrives, but I am very dissatisfied with this seller.
