Great, fast, low-ish power.
Very fast CPU, love that it’s low power. Since I need more words, I’d like to point out that the fit into the socket was perfect, so points for manufacturing tolerances to high standards 🙂

Be very cautious with Intel’s warranty
This is a great processor when it works, it does run hot, but draws lower power than a non S processor. That being said, because it is an S processor, it is taken from batches that are lower quality than say a K processor, and will likely die shortly after the warranty expires. This is exactly what happened with mine, and Intel doesn’t seem like a company that will work with customers a single day past that expiration. Mine was warrantied up to March of 2017, and it failed in June 2017. $300 is a lot to pay for hardware that can’t live past 3 years.Update: They were reluctant at first to honor the warranty as it was a few months past…but after explaining the situation they did replace the broken CPU and now my PC works again. I’m very grateful that they did. I changed my rating again because they did that for me, usually big companies like this do not do it, I was very surprised. I will stay with intel for sure.

very good
It is very fast and meets expectations for use in computer graphics and in games that require processing for rendering

Wrong product
I purchase this specific model of processor (i7-4770S) but I received another model instead (i5-4570S)I don’t live in US and I just realized that when I was upgrading my PC.It’s a bad thing that I received the wrong product, but at least Amazon gave me a refund of the difference between these two models.I have a friend in US, I will buy it again and delivery to him, when he get back to my country I’ll get the processor. I hope this time they don’t commit the same mistake again

Five Stars
Works as expected. Fast and furious. Descent graphics as well.

True Workhorse
Been rock solid since I fired it up, noticeable speedup for single thread programs. Energy usage is amazing – total build uses 100W less that the previous.Passed my burn in test with flying colors (x264 10bit encode of 1080p content over the course of 5hrs)Full tilt – runs hot, but no hiccups with the stock fan cooling things, and promptly clocks down at idle.

Turbo Boost is less as Cores increase
I bought the 3.1 GHz i7-4770S to run 24/7 at 100% load on all 4 cores doing World Community Grid number crunching. Before purchasing, I had read several sources saying the Turbo Boost clock speed is 3.9 GHz. However, it turns out that is ONLY true when ONE core is turbo boosted. Following is the actual Turbo Boost when more than one core is boosted as reported by the i7z hardware monitor in the terminal window on Ubuntu Linux:1 Core – 3.9 GHz2 Cores â 3.8 GHz3 Cores â 3.6 GHz4 Cores â 3.5 GHzSince I am running 4 cores at 98% loading, the average boost speed is 3.45 GHz on each core (close to 3.5 GHz above), but well below the 3.9 GHz I had assumed. The boost frequency decision making is apparently controlled by the CPU chip, not the motherboard (mini-ITX EVGA Z97 Stinger WIFI)

Great for a silent PC
Has been working great for 2 months and is a key part of making my PC nearly silent.
