Incredible performance for ridiculously cheap.
For anyone who is looking for ridiculous processing at a rock bottom price, I’d recommend this. Bonus points it’s in an ITX form factor, although you have to get a little creative like I did if this is going into a full sized tower to keep it from looking weird. This is basically the mobile variant of the Ryzen 9 7950x, but it’s unlocked and there’s good options in the bios to adjust pbo settings, curve optimizer settings for both CPU and graphics. You will almost always be cooling limited because the included heatsink is the only one you can use and it’s not the biggest. So I got the bright idea to use an APNX 30mm thick fan. If you do this, be sure to order m2 screws 30mm+ because the brackets fan mounting hardware use m2 screws. So I just mounted a normal 120mm x25mm thick fan in the meantime while I wait for the screws to arrive to put the nicer and more capable fan on it. Performance is just a shade under the true desktop 7950x, but it’s recognizably better than my previous processor the I9-12900kf all while using 1/3rd the power to do it.Also try to get the lowest latency ddr5-5200mhz sodimm sticks. I got a lot of ddr5-5200 cl38 from gskill, because anything over 5200 will be downclocked. So if you get a ddr5-6000 cl46 kit, you’ll just end up with ddr5-5200 cl46 which isn’t ideal.Also board has no argb header of any kind, and no type c header. You’ll have to get creative to work around that, I went with an argb controller and USB 3 splitter. So turn 1 USB 3.2 header into two, and use a USB 3 to type c header. That way I could use all the ports on my case.Even with a few $10 adapters here and there, you get a Ryzen 7000 16 core CPU, motherboard, and heatsink for less than the cost of the desktop 7950x CPU alone. This is my second minisforum Ryzen 7000 board, girlfriend has had the 7745hx board for a year now with no issues. I can’t recommend these boards enough to people who want great performance without spending a fortune for it.
