    Beautiful buttons and Good Membranes
I’ve bought and tested multiple sets of GBA buttons from Extremerate and not one of them has disappointed. These of course do work with non-Extremerate shells as well but for those of you wondering if they fit as a drop in replacement for the ExtremeRate default buttons, they do. The only difference in how they will feel will depend on the finish. I have found the transparent and non-painted opaque buttons to have the best feel to them overall. However, that doesnt discount the metallic finish ones. While the metallic finish doesn’t grip nearly as well (on account of them being so smooth) they still function, fit and feel just fine. Another concern that I saw pop up was that since these are painted metallic buttons that the paint is prone to wearing off. I have used these for about 100+ hours and have yet to see any degradation. As long as you treat them nicely they’ll last. However, if that’s a worry for you these are still just buttons which makes them a cheap swap out. Overall, these are some of the best buttons you can get for a GBA and they match so well with the black Extremerate shell!

    Good replacement buttons
Buttons fit in the console easily, color is exactly as pictured. Plastic feels a bit lighter/cheaper than the oem buttons but you don’t notice it whatsoever once they are installed. The included screwdrivers/screws are a nice touch for those new to modding.

    Go Chrome or Go Home
Are you like me? Are you always looking for excuses to take apart your Gameboys? Are you attracted to shiny things? Look no further, this bag of chrome plated plastic will solve a very small percentage of your problems. For being coated plastic, the quality is surprisingly good. The d-pad, start/select, and A/B buttons need to be removed from the sprue, while the shoulder buttons and side bumpers are loose. The buttons twist off cleanly, and I only had to do minor cleanup with a hobby knife. I’m a HUGE fan of the plastic Start/Select buttons that ExtremeRate has designed for this. The special silicone membrane works great, and they feel so much better than the stock Start/Select membranes. That being said, the included silicone membranes for the d-pad and A/B buttons were not so great, and are the reason for four instead of five stars. With the included membranes, the d-pad and A/B buttons felt loose and rattled, as though the silicone membranes needed to be thicker. I used the membranes that were already in this Gameboy Advance, and the problems was solved immediately. The membranes I used were FunnyPlaying Game Boy Advance Silicone Pads (Black) from retrogamerepairshop dot com. The shell I’m using is the FunnyPlaying Mirror Polished Shell (Red) from the same place. Your experience my vary depending on the shell you use. I would suggest trying the included membranes and the ones currently in your GBA to find the best combination. In the end I’m very pleased with the results. I do wish ExtremeRate would include less unecessary items and reduce the price, but I’m guessing it’s a business tactic to charge a premium price. I seriously have so many extra sets of screws and mini screwdrivers, I cringe every time they come with a new set of buttons. In the end, I’m very happy with the end result. The chrome finish feels like it will last, and it’s very smooth and nice to the touch. Trying to capture chrome in photos is hard. Trust me when I say it looks much better in person.

    Real Pearlescence, Great Screwdriver
The blue/purple pearlescent buttons are amazing. The image I posted shows the blue, but as you rotate the device, the buttons turn purple. They feature a rich glitter throughout as well. Totally sick.Even better, the screwdrivers included are the perfect size for the screws.I bought a screwdriver set from Handheld Legend and it was absolute trash. All the sizes from that set are just too small, they strip each screw and are unable to grip into the screwheads.I combined these buttons with an IPS shell and an IPS V2 backlit screen to get this look.

Super shiny ans fit together nicely!!
I bought this to bring some life into an old and damaged gba and it most certainly did that!It is so shiny and the shell and buttons feel nice and sturdy. This makes me want to try to install a new screen in this to bring this up to the modern Era.

    Squeaky with a similar case.
Great product on it’s own. Glossy finish, but if you have a case that is also glossy they tend to rub together and make a slightly annoying sound. Just a heads up if you’re buying like their chameleon or similar case to either buy some non glossy buttons or deal with the squeak. Great product otherwise, arrived on time.

The chrome red is very classy looking. Very happy with both the look and feel of the buttons. They fit perfectly with my FunnyPlaying laminate-IPS-ready shell, but I’m sure they’d fit just as well in an original GBA shell.

Great buttons. Used them on a full GBA rebuild and they turned out really nice. I like that they came pre removed from the mold frame unlike some other buttons I’ve bought. Also really liked that these came with two mini screw drivers and a plastic pry bar. I already had these but it’s nice to see them included and have backups. Especially the tri-wing tip needed to open the console as some may not have that tip if they don’t have a large selection from an iFixit kit or something similar.I used the included silicone pads and they seem responsive and play well. As long as the paint remains this nice looking long term 5/5 from me.

Bella confezione, bel contenuto, funzionalità ottima. Colore ok, forse avrei optato per un colore non trasparente.Forse un po’ caretto ma la finezza della stampa è buona.
