    nice styling
I had hoped the motherboard would have Gigabyte’s easy disconnect buttons. It doesn’t. That makes it difficult when the display card is so big you can’t see the little release.

Fantastic – High Mid Range Board – Heat Transfer King
This is 1-2 steps below the very top end of MBs. My reasons for buying the Aero were 5x M.2 drives, DDR5 and heat transfer. Historically I only bought ASUS drives, this one is very well made. Solid, does not bend. The bios update was quick and painless using QFLASH. I couldn’t be happier. Running latest Intel 5 13900k.
Looks just fantastic. I preferred the aluminum look.. Get a great case and time your RGB fans and it is just incredible.

    Arrived defective; Gigabyte was useless
Update: I RMAed the board and Gigabyte just updated the BIOS, sent it back telling me they tested it and it fixed the issue, which was a load of crap. The same issues were still there. Never buying from them again.
PCIe slots arrived nonfunctional, I plugged multiple different devices into every slot and none of them were picked up by device manager or the BIOS itself. The wifi also didn’t work and I had to RMA this thing.

    Installation Tip
If you’re building your first PC like me, it’s helpful to know that the M.2 SSD has a heatsink, so you have to move it out of the way first. You unscrew the big metal piece in the center of the board by the cpu before you can install the SSD. Also, read the manual!

    Could have been better
I have been building gaming desktops for years. I tend to favor Asus and Gigabyte mother boards. The first thing I noticed was that the manual and the drivers disc where both missing. I contacted the seller who indicated that this is how the item came from the factory. Cost cutting? In defense of Gigabyte, the item did look like it was previously opened so your experience may be different. I was able to download the latest drivers and the manual from the Gigabyte website and so I could continue with my build.
The next challenge involved the cooler for the CPU which was hitting the heat sink for the M.2 drive. I’m not sure how Gigabyte missed this – unless they expect you to buy some custom CPU cooler. This was almost a deal breaker until I noticed this MB supports both types of M.2 drives and I had the PCIe type which connected elsewhere on the MB. Still the heat sink needed to be removed to allow the CPU cooler sufficient space to be installed properly. If you have a SATA M.2 SSD then removing this heatsink is not an option for you. Instead you can probably cut the top of it off to provide just enough clearance for the CPU cooler. I doubt this will reduce its cooling capacity too much – I haven’t tried this so cannot say for sure.
Lastly, the BIOS is reasonably intuitive for standard setups. Autoconfig properly detected all my hardware, drives, fanes, memory, etc. If you want to fiddle with the more advanced settings this can be a little tricky but there is more information to be found on the internet. I was annoyed by an alert to install Gigabyte Control Center which kept coming up each time I rebooted. There was a checkbox to disable the alert but it did nothing. I have noticed that Asus and Gigabyte are generally pretty good at designing the MB – they are not so good at designing software. I have always had far more problems with their monitoring and software so now I never install them; only the MB drivers get installed. This alert can also be disabled in the BIOS, under settings. This is what the internet says and this is what Gigabyte support says. What they don’t tell you is that this option is buried deeply. I had trouble trying to locate it. Fortunately there was a search option which is how I managed to find it. Search for “Gigabyte Utilities Downloader Configuration”.
Now my PC is working great and the M.2 SSD (Samsung) is really fast.

    In love with the Motherboard😍
This motherboard definitely is powerful. Looks amazing compared to any motherboard I’ve seen so far, and was worth it for me to buy on sale. No regrets.

On one hand, I don’t want to fault Gigabyte because it could be and probably is an Intel issue, but in short the I225-V chipset is chopped and I would steer clear of it in any board. Wifi works but who pays for a $300 motherboard to have packet loss. Search up anything to do with dead ethernet port gigabyte or the I225-V Intel controller issue and you’ll understand. Rest of the board was fine, just be mindful when shopping around, might have to spend another 15-50 on a PCIe ethernet adapter.
Edit: Upon further testing it seems like the issue lies with the negotiation between the controller and certain gateway/modems, so depending on your ISP or network hardware setup, you might be alright.
