Love this home charger!
We had to scramble when EnelX stopped supporting our Juice Box, and this charger has been a perfect replacement. We don’t use the app features much but it’s quite robust if you prefer that interface. Easy install, storage and works like a charm.

Great L2 Home Charger
Recently, my family purchased an EV and needed to make sure we were able to take advantage of home charging. After reviewing all available options we selected the ChargePoint HomeFlex L2 charger. This L2 charger works seamlessly with our EV. It is designed for ease of use. I would highly recommend anyone choosing to purchase an EV to select it.

So Far, So Good
Beautiful design, easy to understand but get your electrician to install this. I could never have installed this because it requires a double-pole 50 amp, 240 volt circuit breaker. I didnât have any space in my panel so I needed a subpanel installed and some main panel rewiring in order to be properly installed and up to code. The good news is that Xcel Energy has some serious rebates for buying and installing one of these and enrolling in their EV charging program. With those rebates, it significantly brought down the cost of the unit (which is now even cheaper than when I bought it a few weeks ago) and the installation. The only issue was that the Chargepoint Pro Installer app didnât work right so my electrician couldnât finish the activation. But the homeowner Chargepoint app worked fine. I got it registered and activated without a problem. I called Chargepoint tech support and they locked it for me to a maximum of 40-amp charging (which is what is recommended and required by code here IF you are using a plug-in 14-50 NEMA outlet, like I am, on a 50-amp circuit). The circuit wiring MUST be copper (enclosed in conduit) and boy is that stuff thick and heavy! This unit can be installed as hardwired for 50-amp charging BUT it would require a higher amp circuit and heavier duty wiring. Again, for your safety, please have this (or any EV charger) installed by a licensed, insured master electrician. And donât forget to check for rebates from your utility company, like Xcel.

Great charger!
This charger works flawlessly! It’s awesome they made it so you can change it from a plug in charger to a hardwired charger if you change your mind. I bought the plug in version and decided to hard wire it at the last minute. It’s pretty easy to install yourself if you know what you’re doing. I used the normal chargepoint app to initialize everything at the beginning. It comes with pretty detailed instructions for installation. Just remember you need a 50 amp service to run 40 amp charging(9.56kw), a 60 amp service to run 48 amp charging(11.5kw), and I believe a 70 amp service to run the full 50 amp charging(12kw) if your car allows it. My car can do the 11.5kw charging, but I decided to do the 9.56kw and hardwire because you can use romex (if it’s inside only) to wire it. Once you get to 60 amp breakers, you need to run conduit all the way to the main breaker box and use thhn wire instead of romex. I hardwired because these chargers don’t want you using a gfci breaker at the main panel because they have one built in. My area has code where if you’re plugging it in a garage, you need a gfci breaker. If you hardwire it then you can use a regular breaker, which is ten times cheaper.

Simple Installation and Set Up
I researched dozens of charging units before finally settling for the ChargePoint. I liked its look, slick design, and cable storage. What really sold me with the design is the holster. The way it swivels down and not stick out. The cable length is perfect, and the connector has a nice feel and look.I Installed a 50A circuit and a Bryant Electric NEMA 14-50R outlet that I purchased from Amazon as well to utilize the 40A charging capability. It charges at 29-30 miles per hour. The App is really simple. It was a matter of minutes to set it up on WiFi and the schedule. I went back and forth with setting the schedule on the ChargePoint or on my Genesis GV60. Both schedulers are adequate, but in the end I chose to use the ChargePoint scheduler because when I used my car scheduler the ChargePoint shows as charging time when it’s actually idle time. It logs time from connect to disconnect (not charge start/stop when using the car scheduler). There’s no issue as far as it’s drawing power, its more my anal retentiveness in seeing the idle time shown as charge time in the charge log. It also set your rate plan for your particular utility company to ensure it’ll never charge out of your time of your low rates. The one caveat was the time change. I’m in California, and when it was time to fall back, it didn’t. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with, when we spring forward we’re on the same timezone as Arizona (whose time doesn’t change). So when I was expecting it to alert me at 8pm as a reminder to plug in to my car it didn’t. By it not auto adjusting the time; if it was plugged into my car, it would have started charging at 8pm, which is an hour before my low rate (9pm) kicks in. There wasn’t a quick way to change my time zone. I had to go on YouTube to find a video of someone having the same issue. In order to get the time to adjust to the right time, I had to change my address to a random address in a different timezone and then reboot the charger. Then I had to change the address back to my address and reboot the charger again, and the time issue was resolved. Hopefully they’ll come with a software update to fix the time issue.I’ve been really satisfied with my selection, and I definitely recommend this charging unit.

Great charger. Easy to install. Good app. Pricey, but maybe worth it.
Not the cheapest charger, but it works very well. It was easy to install (once I got my garage wired with an appropriate outlet. Good app support. I like it. This was the charger recommended by my EV manufacturer.

Bought two of these for my two ev cars. Both work flawlessly. Setting it up using the app is easy. The app itself is easy to use. two tiny gripes…1. When you create your account you have to add credit c ard details, I don’t like this. I only use charge point at home, so I see no reason for them to have that. 2. Pulling data must be done on a PC. No way for the chargepoint app to just send you usage in a CSV etc. I use that data for the business use of one of my vehicles and it would be nicer if I could just select dates and have it e-mail an excel doc. Like I said, Very small gripes.

This WAS one of the best charging stations I’ve seen and owned until the WIFI module went toast and it could no longer connect to the wifi network which is crucial. Now that I cannot have the unit connect to the wifi, I cam no longer update my scheduled charging and have to wait till the schedule starts to charge my car. This is a major disappointment for Chargepoint Hone Flex!I bought this thinking I would have great support and warranty, I had contact Chargepoint over 2 weeks ago and they stated this will be taken to the highest priority and to watch my emails for updates for a replacement unit.About 4 phone calls later and over 2 weeks I get told the same thing from every customer service representative that it will be taken to the highest priority and to wait for an email…Keep in mind the email isn’t to confirm they sent out the unit, it is to confirm your details so they can take it back and co sider the case to send out a unit. At this point I have no clue when I will be getting my replacement unit. Totally unreliable customer service and support! If you depend on this station to get to work to charge your car, good luck when the unit fails! Again, don’t get me wrong when it works it WAS absolutely fantastic I would have gave it a 5 star. Not anymore due to the customer support and warranty!

I ordered this back in August but it took some time to get installed as the electrician had to upgrade my panel. At the same time he installed the 14 50 nema plug and a 50 amp breaker. I decided not to go with the hardwire as if anything were to happen with the unit I would rather not have to call an electrician. I think it is worth any extra cost to have the plug installed rather than hardwired. It took me five minutes to connect it to my chargepoint app so that was impressive. I didn’t get to set any amperage so maybe that is done automatically? Today is the first time using it and it is adding 43 kms per hour in its 50 amp breaker. I thought by going with a 50 amp breaker that I would get 50 kms per hour. All in all I am happy with 43. I get free level two charging at work so this home charger will be a back up on weekends. The app works the same as it does when you plug in to a public charger. It shows you how many kw and kms have been delivered. You can set your city and it seems to know the time of use rates. The app seems to have schedules that you can set for time of use. I haven’t bothered with that yet. Maybe in the winter I will need to. So far I am happy that I put out the extra money for this unit. I find chargepoint chargers in Ontario to be the most reliable so that was what was behind my decision making in this charger. Hopefully the company stands behind its three year warranty if I ever have to use it. I am hoping that I don’t as it is quite an expensive unit and I hope that it lasts for longer than three years.
