WOW this is GREAT!!
I have a Mac Pro and never imagined that I’d be able to put it on a retractable arm. This little gadget solved the problem! It was easy to put on (do read the instructions!), and works like a charm. With this adapter, I could have mounted the Mac Pro on the wall using a monitor wall mount. It feels very sturdy and secure on the back.I really love having the Mac on an arm. This is a wonderful adapter!

Excellent Fit for iMac Pro 2017
Having tried alternatives that did not fit and seemed designed for a different model delighted with thisInstructions were clear, the stand came off, attachment went on and mounted with no stand hanging down. Sturdy and matching he back of my iMac Pro

High quality, and works great
Compared to the official one, this is a great deal on price alone. High quality, comes with all the tools you need to install and decent instructions. The instructions say “Keep these screws for the next step” and in my case that was incorrect and they provide longer screws than the ones you removed — which makes sense, as you’re basically adding an “extension” that the plate will connect to.The color matches the machine quite well also.

Much better than I expected
I didnt really expect much for this, especially since its so much cheaper than the official apple vesa mount. I was very pleasantly surprised. It installed really easy and has been super sturdy on my monitor arm (amazon basics). I would say the whole process of taking off the iMac stand and then installing this one was about 10 minutes tops. I was expecting a very daunting process, but it was simple. So far I have no issues and it felt very secure. There is no reason to go with the apple one, this one is not only much better – its much cheaper.

Works Great, Instructions a Little Confusing
I bought this because I had my doubts about the Apple branded VESA mount and the issue with zinc screws. That and the extra forty bucks in my pocket doesn’t hurt. The instructions were a little confusing – the bracket that attaches to the iMac Pro doesn’t exactly match the illustration in the instructions, and the orientation of the bracket with respect to the iMac Pro in the illustrations left my scratching my head for a bit. But once I got it assembled and mounted everything was great.Steel is real. The screws attaching the bracket to the iMac Pro are strong and do not seem like they will snap like the zinc ones might.

Human Centric says late 2017 it fits iMac pro 2017.
This beautifully machined mounting bracket slipped right into place and was easy to screw down. Everything fit perfectly. I was worried when they stated in their manual that there were 8 screws in the Apple bracket when there are really 9. Their bracket has five holes ant it aligned perfectly. The screws in the Apple bracket are # 10 Torx and the screws they provide are hex head.I am using the mount to mount the iMac to an overhead swing down mount. This is a beautiful mount.

Poor machining of critical small mounting holes on the only show in town.
ABOUT THIS ADAPTER: This will **ONLY** work on late 2017 iMac Pro models (which I think covers models made through 2022; plenty of resources to check this). For whatever reason, Apple decided to make this series of the iMac Pro with a removable stand. And no, this adapter **WILL NOT** work on the older iMacs that came with a removable stand.Removing the factory stand is fairly easy; I would highly recommend you lay your iMac Pro on a towel on a flat surface to do this. The tricky part is getting a hidden release, at the pivot point of the stand, to unlock so you can tilt the stand the extra bit to expose the half dozen screws holding the stand to the internal bracket. The adapter kit includes a fairly flimsy plastic card; I used a thin putty knife. The main part of the Humancentric adapter is one solid piece of extruded aluminum with four rubber cushions on it that contact the back of the iMac Pro. There are 6 holes drilled in it; 4 are threaded. Once the factory stand is removed, a small intermediate piece mounts to the “stub” of the factory mount using the six original stand screws. Two large hex drive machine screws are used to attach the main part of the adapter to the iMac Pro via the intermediate piece. The most critical feature of this adapter are the 4 threaded holes to attach the iMac Pro to the VESA plate on my Ergotronic arm. And the threading in two of the four holes stripped. Just like that. I barely had the screws snug and they let go. The 27″ iMac Pro weighs in at a little over 20lbs …so you do want to securely attach this thing to whatever VESA setup you’re using. To say I was a little “perturbed” would be putting it nicely.I shelled out $65 for a hunk of aluminum just to have the lousy Chinese-machined threading strip in two of the mounting holes. And no, I did not over tighten the small screws; I never got that far. The holes were just a hair too big for the tap used to thread them and the fit of the screws, as I threaded them in, was loose and sloppy. Typical Chinese quality control. What a joke. So, being a good DIY kinda guy, I went to my local hardware store, got some new hex head screws, nuts and washers and securely attached the adapter to the VESA mount on the arm. What makes this even more irritating is Humancentric has a patent on this mount …so there’s no competition; they are the only show in town. If you want to mount your iMac Pro on a flexible arm or any VESA interface mount, this is the only adapter made to do it. Speaking of “arm”, unless you have a helper, a good tactic is to mount the last portion of your flexible arm assembly to the adapter while the iMac Pro is still laying flat on the table …as opposed to trying to hold it while you attach the 4 screws …which may end up stripping the mounting hole threads.Despite the added efforts to attach the adapter, having my iMac Pro on an arm is great; I highly recommend it. The adapter, its poor quality and cost, you’ll just have to live with.

Instructions not included with my purchse
Did not come with instructions on how to install it. I had to search online for video tutorials. The description also mentioned that “all specialized tools included!”. I needed to use one of my credit cards in the installation process as I needed a tool with a similar design that was not part of the box.Seems like it has a good build quialty.

Thoughtfully constructed. The mounting has a nice padded liner so it won’t damage the surface of your imac pro. There’s a little cavity between the mount and the imac case that’s handy to store external drives in. It’s been in use for a week now as of writing, but if you don’t see an update to this review it means my imac is still safe and firmly mounted to it’s monitor arm. The space saving below the monitor is amazing, enough room for a 49 key midi keyboard.
