Experience lightning-fast performance with the NZXT Function 2—an optical gaming keyboard equipped with linear optical switches and an 8,000 Hz polling rate to ensure every key press is registered with speed and precision. Savor the satisfying sound and tactile feedback of each keystroke, and switch up the feel at any time by easily hot-swapping with the included extra switches.
NZXT Swift Optical Switches have a linear, lightweight feel with a 0.2 ms response time, 100-million key press guarantee, and 1 mm or 1.5 mm adjustable actuation.
Doubleshot PBT keycaps feature two layers of plastic to preserve legends and prevent fading over time.
8,000 Hz polling rate transmits input signals 8x faster than most gaming keyboards, ensuring lightning-fast responsiveness.
Dual-layer of sound-dampening foam and tape-enhanced PCB improve acoustics by absorbing unwanted pinging noises.
Top frame plate is crafted from 3mm-thick aerospace-grade aluminum for long-lasting stability and a sleek appearance.

    Affordable Customization and Comfort
The NZXT Function Mechanical Keyboard is a great choice for those who want a high-quality keyboard without breaking the bank. With MX compatible 5-pin hot-swappable sockets, this keyboard offers a level of customization that is not commonly found at this price point. Additionally, the standard bottom row design makes it easy to replace keycaps and enhance the keyboard’s aesthetics.Despite its affordable price, the NZXT Function Mechanical Keyboard does not compromise on design or functionality. The durable aluminum top plate and low-profile minimalist design give the keyboard a sleek and professional look. The per-key RGB lighting is easy to customize through the CAM-powered software, providing a variety of lighting effects to match your personal preferences. The magnetic wrist rest is a standout feature, providing a comfortable typing experience during extended gaming sessions. The keyboard also includes a volume wheel and mute button on the left-hand side for easy access to essential controls.Overall, the NZXT Function Mechanical Keyboard offers excellent value for its price. While it may not have all the features of higher-end mechanical keyboards, it still provides a great typing experience with a level of customization that is hard to find at this price point. If you are looking for a budget-friendly mechanical keyboard with solid build quality, the NZXT Function Mechanical Keyboard is definitely worth considering.

    Best keyboard for the money!
To start, I previously owned a Corsair K95 Platinum Full-Size keyboard. The keyboard was solid, you could feel it too, and equipped with Cherry MX Reds it’s hard to not be happy. I wanted a change, especially in color as my PC setup has changed. Here I found this NZXT keyboard, which is in the same exact price point as the K95. I will admit, I was hesitant about changing keyboards let alone switches from Cherry MX’s to Gateron Red’s but let me tell you, THE GATERON SWITCHES ARE BETTER THAN CHERRY MX’S! They are smooth, have that beautiful thwomp that you really only find in custom keyboards. Not to mention the build quality is amazing, they added foam between the layers to make the experience much more solid and I appreciate it. They also thought about modularity as well as this keyboard is fully hotswappable for your switches. You don’t want Gateron instead you want the super expensive switches? You can do that! This keyboard is also equipped with a detachable USB-C cable which gives you the option to customize it more like I did with a coiled cable. I also wanted to talk about the software, this keyboard uses NZXT’s software CAM. It is lightweight, powerful, and SIMPLE to use; unlike Corsair’s iCUE/CUE software. The magnetic wrist pad on this keyboard was a great choice as well. I can say for certain, I am never looking back. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone.

If you have an NZXT PC, the peripherals are a no brainer.
Yes, it’s expensive, but if you get one, you’ll quickly understand that the cost is definitely worth it. As far as keyboards go, this is top of the line in form and function. With NZXT Cam software, which is already integrated in NZXT machines, it’s seamless. Infinitely customizable. I’m considering updating all my peripherals to match, it’s that convincing. I cannot speak to longevity, but if you’re a gamer and replacing things here and there, this shouldn’t be too much of a factor. I hope it lasts though, because it is absolutely fantastic feeling. Nice smooth and clicky keystrokes if that’s a factor. Even the sensitivity is adjustable. Love the magnetic wrist support as well. A+ all around. If I have to give a negative, it’s a bit large in footprint. Also it’s high even at base height, so if you have an under-desk keyboard tray, it may be uncomfortable. I had to adjust my set up.

It’s actually solid but not for me
I returned this for none of the reasons reviewers seemed to have panned it. They often complained about the plastic base and hollowness, rattle in the keys, etc. For me, I think this case is pretty solid – plastic base with a aluminum top plate. In fact, the top plate on this keyboard is thicker than the Steelseries, which reviewers seem to love and the board was heavier. It just felt more solid. The stabilizers do have a little rattle but that really only bothered me on the spacebar. The switches are Gaterons. Not sure how you can complain about that unless you don’t like the linears that come stock. I personally really liked how quiet and light they felt. I had no problems with the USB-c cable as another reviewer complained about. What I absolutely loved about this keyboard was the mini-TKL layout. Unlike many 75% keyboards that cut off part of the right shift key (which created missed keystroked for me), This one has a standard layout for the main board. Such a brilliant implementation and I wish you could find this on barebones kits or from other companies. I really feel this should be the standard for 75% layouts. Here were the only reasons I didn’t keep it:1. ABS keycaps. Had those on my Logitech G513, They started to wear out after 2.5 years and I want this to last.2. The side buttons. Not because they are “cheap” like some reviewers claimed. I thought they felt solid. But I realize that when I try to move my keyboard, sometimes while gaming, I will inadvertently press one of these keys and it will sometimes mute my sound. I did it enough times in my two day trial of it, that I knew it would just drive me nuts.3. No USB passthrough (not common though so it wasn’t a dealbreaker).4. The CAM software was limited. Despite the fact it had the exact lighting effect I intended to use, the lighting software felt half complete, and that didn’t leave me with confidence that the company was serious about supporting the product overall. Not a bad value now that it is sub $100. It is very much worth consideration for some users.

While I was a bit worried about this working with Ubuntu my trepidation was totally unfounded. The feel of this keyboard is solid and while I had to set up customised key colours in Windows (CAM, Linux does not yet have a equivalent I know of) the keyboard seems to have onboard memory to store customisations which worked also on Ubuntu and is BLOODY AWESOME!!! Very happy.
