This used CPU is a worthwhile upgrade for my vintage computer
I got this computer with an AMD Athlon dual core CPU. Over time, performance has become sluggish, so I performed a few upgrades – including this Quad-core AMD Phenom II CPU. I also upgraded my Hard Drive to a 1TB SSHD device, and I got a better CPU cooling fan (originally for the AMD Athlon CPU). The combination of upgrades have improved performance noticeably, and my system no longer feels sluggish. This CPU is working very well, and seems very stable. I could not be happier!

Big improvement
This was a very easy and inexpensive upgrade to my old desktop computer. Along with installing a SSD, clean install of Windows 10 and a video card, my old computer runs much faster on everything. I’m not a gamer and only use my computer for web browsing and home office work. It now performs just as good as some new low end general purpose desktops. And the CPU only set me back less than $65. The seller was excellent too. The CPU was very well packaged and arrived 9 days early.

Want to use Zoom.
I’ve had this, in an AM3 sys for my bdrm, for many years. I have (old) PCs in every main room. Now, I’m considering another Deneb for my office sys. That has a decent AM3+ board, but I had put in a single-core Sargas, as a “placeholder.” Naturally, I put off upgrade until the end of time. (By the way, Regor (dual-core) won’t thrill, either.)In a Zoom call with my bros and nephew, Zoom proved embarassingly choppy and unusable. So, I’m considering this re-purchase., relegating Sargas to the drawer–for continued stupid, emergency decisions!. I dislike holding my phone up for Zoom. The chip is far from magical, especially now: You will note it’s pokiness. Also, given that it’s AM3, that limits it’s speed concerning handoff to DDR3. This is a well known issue. The tech is well over a decade old, after all. AM3+ ended up as the best AMD platform for DDR3: Deneb came out well before AMD3+ did.It requires 65W–that’s a big plus towards keeping legacy hobbling along. If you don’t know about the limitations of your power supply, check that out. Can it handle 95W or 125W, given that you consider better solutions? In it’s day, Deneb was beloved, by “normies.” It was never the ultimate performer that made gamers salivate. Of course, they would get immediately onto overclocking it. It was reasonably priced, then–over Intel. It wouldn’t stress a sys.

Pre-Thermal Pasted not recommended
The full dislike is the fact the CPU came into the mail via USPS, understandable for discrete shipping, but pre- thermal pasted is not recommended for use since the IT guys used the old style thermal paste on it, it was dried out when I got it so i got some cleaning to do.I had a Phenom II quad core 975 Black Edition Deneb CPU this will do as a replacement since one of the pins my old CPU decided to break off when I pulled it out of the socket for re thermal pasting. that CPU was the monster…These phenoms will out perform any other CPU excepting the ryzons which im currently running, those phenoms are monsters when it comes to gaming or even running a gaming server… they do the job well without any hesitation.for the pre-thermal pasted issue, use Artic Silver 5 Thermal Paste which you can find on newegg and amazon suprisinglyThis is the reason why i gave 3 stars because the thermal paste is a pain to clean off…

AMD Phenom
I am very pleased with My new processor. I am not a gamer. Don’t know exactly how to rate the processor because I did and overall computer upgrade. Also installed a solid state hard drive, a new faster display card with more memory, updated to latest BIOS, updated to latest level Windows 10, and faster internet. So overall My computer is like new and should last another 9 years. I’m sure the new processor added to the performance improvement.

A nice affordable upgrade for my Sempron 145 2
Bought 2 of these. Received quickly and safely individually packaged. A nice affordable upgrade for my Sempron 145 2.8Ghz single-core and Athlon 64 4450B 2.3 Ghz Dual-Core systems. Nice stability at stock 3.0Ghz and with using heatsink rated for 65watt TDP, these 95 Watt TDP Phenom II’s level off to 52C in 20C room with stress test to 100% for 1 hour and arctic silver thermal compound. The Quadcore processor with the 6MB L3 Cache is quite the processor. I will be back for more of these if any of my friends need an upgrade to maximum CPU for their motherboards affordably.

Excelente producto!!
