Live Streaming
I recently got into live streaming and my 2019 laptop just couldnât keep up with multi-streaming. So I did some digging and ended up getting the HP EliteDesk 800 G4 i7-8700 16Gb ram & 512 SSD. I couldnât be more impressed with how this is handling my multi-streaming. That being said I ONLY live stream from this desktop, I use a capture card for my Xbox X. Iâm not sure if this is capable of gaming & live streaming at the same time.So that being said, if youâre looking for a computer to live stream for your console and be able to look at chat. This is the desktop for you then. Before buying this one I was looking at building myself one but itâs very costly. This overall has done amazing so far with no lag or dropping frames & I get to added up to 3 displays ( makes TikTok , twitch, and YouTube chat easy to all read)!

Junk
I’ve purchased quite a few of these HP EliteDesk, different generations, different processors. I have never received a bigger piece of trash than the system from this vendor. Lets start, the packing was paltry, wrapped it two sheets of paper in a box barely enough to fit the system and its power cord. Second, a protrusion on the back left side was hanging on by a wire. Third, the system wouldn’t boot. As soon as the power cable was plugged in I received a beep count – 3 slow 4 quick. Considering the lack of proper packaging I thought something came loose. Third, I re-seated the memory, ram and processor. I also noticed that the CPU fan never turned, not even a budge. I tried another fan, didn’t budge. After researching, I learned that the beep count indicated an issue with the motherboard receiving power. I tried another power cable/brick, didn’t help.I’m getting a replacement. Still, this throws off my project, wastes time I really didn’t have, and decimates my confidence in Amazon vetting its vendors to assure some standard of quality control. I do hope this is the exception to the norm but lately I’m not so sure.

You can tell this one was actually refurbished
I’ve received a few refurbished computers recently from Amazon that look like they were just thrown into a box and shipped without being inspected, cleaned, etc. This one was very clean, and worked perfectly from the first boot. The specs were as ordered, and the computer came incredibly quickly. I ordered the computer Saturday; and I received it on Monday despite having a projected Tuesday delivery date. Awesome. It came with a keyboard; but I don’t intend to use it. Most of these refurbs come with super cheap keyboards and mice.It came with Windows 10 Pro installed. Once I went through the user setup, I was notified that the computer was eligible for an upgrade to Windows 11, which I proceeded to do. The upgrade went flawlessly. Also, there was a minimum of crapware; I believe that the only junk that was installed was installed with Windows 10/11.

Great Computer
Mine was like New in condition and even came with a 3rd Display port connection. Very cleanunit, and packaged very well. I am a dealer, so I buy a lot of these, and this was one of the best I have received. On that note – They ship from Canada and sometimes come DHL- Good luck on getting the product delivered. 2nd time DHL has delivered to the wrong address. I was lucky this time that a Nabourbrought to my apartment.

Missing hdd fan
Missing the hdd fan. All you have to do is turn on the computer and it states this error on boot up every time. I already had a couple of these in my stock, so it wasn’t a big deal for me, but it may be a big deal for those that isn’t a pro like I am.

Works well, and almost as advertised.
I bought the “HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini Business Desktop – 8th Gen Intel 6-Core i7-8700T Processor up to 4.00 GHz, 16GB Memory, 512GB Solid State Drive, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)” version. The specs in the title are correct and operates perfectly out of the box. Also came in with Windows 10 Pro, which is very nice as it saves me additional money from buying a legitimate Windows license. As for the product condition, I wouldn’t say it was in “Excellent” condition, but there are some slight but noticable cosmetic damage on mine (like a couple of dents on the edges). The cosmetic condition will not affect my review, as I’m not expecting too much from a “Renewed” product and technically the cosmetic damage isn’t really that noticeable from 12 inches away…Pros:+ Speed: This PC is very responsive and will work perfectly for what its intended: Office Work, or Business-related tasks.+ Windows 10 Pro: The pro edition allows for advanced modification to the system which the Home edition does not. As an aspiring IT professional, this might interest some people to test it out.+ Upgradability: Not only does this computer sport a Samsung NVME SSD (Albeit not the commercial ones), it also sports an extra M.2 Slot. For RAM, it can hold up to 2 slots of SODIMM Laptop Memory. This PC came with one 16 GB RAM stick, and had 1 extra slot open for another RAM stick. Also for those who are interested, the PC is compatible to upgrade to Windows 11.+ Portability/Repairability: This product is small enough to carry around and bring to other places with ease. I can see this being very useful especially if a client needs to get this PC fixed. The PC can just be unscrewed manually using your 2 fingers (if its not tightly screwed in) and pushed apart to easily make changes to the PC.Con:- Missing Features: The description in the product page stated that there was a “Slim DVD-Writer” and a “WiFi Adapter” that came with this PC. I came in well aware that this model does not have a DVD-Writer, but this product was missing a “M.2/NGFF M.2 Key A or E Slot” Wifi 6 card. No worries though, I did find a WiFi 6 card for about $17 on Amazon.- Lack of HDMI support: This PC only sports 2 Display Port and 1 VGA Port. This was not a deal-breaker for me (because you can just use an adapter for those that only use pre-existing HDMI cables in their household).Overall, for first impressions I feel pretty happy to have made this purchase, and would most likely buy it again. It seems very excellent to purchase for home or business needs. Be aware though, not everything in the description of the product page will be accurate, and each configuration of the PCs being shipped to you may vary. I would definitely recommend to take your time to extensively inspect/test your product within the 90-day guarantee just in case.Edit: Typos and grammatical error fix

Works well, great price
This machine is great for a busy office computer. It’s much smaller than I expected (I am used to an older generation mini desktop). It was quick and easy to setup and I was very happy to see that there was no bloatware installed. It’s a fast machine that supports multiple monitors and should last a while.

Delivery was a little slow but only by one day, computer was perfect except for the vga port. When I went to deliver it I found the vga port did not work. Other than that the computer performed flawlessly. Great buy for the money.

Ordered this unit a number of times lately. It’s a good value, however also the lottery.1. You may get an internal PCI WiFi card, or you may get a nano adapter. Never know.2. You may get a good brand PCIE SSD, or might be an unknown brand, without any SMART Data reporting. Never know.3. The price fluctuates up and down. At high times, it might be better to just go and buy a superior G5 model with intel Gen9 CPU, for just a few bucks more. One good thing so far, all the units arrived with proper 65W power supply.
