Great keyboard, but I just like full-sized keyboards
This was a great keyboard for the quality and price! I tried using the regular Keychron K4 with red switches, but I found the keys to be a bit mushy and too easy to press, causing typos. This keyboard from RK is much better; the yellow switches feel way more consistent but still smooth, and it is really appreciated that they have space between the numpad and enter key, which I constantly had problems with on the K4. The keyboard is light, but still feels solid which could make it good for travel. The volume wheel is also such a nice bonus! The only reason why I returned it was because I use the home, end, pg up, and pg down keys alot, so I decided to get a full-sized keyboard. If you are looking for a 96% keyboard however, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

The RK96 (a short term review)
So, I bought this for my work computer. Given the price, I didn’t have much expectations. I’ve had more expensive keyboards and they didn’t last to long. I’m not using this for gaming yet. This was just a replacement of the bone stock “laptop” style keyboard that my employer keeps giving me to replace the ones I break. I primarily use for analytics and data entry. I am actually pretty pleased so far. The clicks and general feel is satisfying. Haven’t had any laggy keystrokes. We shall see if it holds up…but it just feels different from other, more expensive, keyboards I’ve gotten. Also, as a positive….The clicks are just loud enough to bug the hell out of my co-workers who are used to the silent stock keyboards. It’s also pretty. I love the color of the forest blue. The ONLY grip I have is that I wish there were a few more LED lighting options. But, that’s just a personal preference and not a negative reflection on the keyboard itself.

4.5 – good starter keyboard, wish the keys lit through the letters!
I’ve had this keyboard for about a month now, using it everyday for work + gaming. This is my first “fun” mechanical keyboard that I bought for a few reasons.1. Already assembled – this is the main Pro of this keyboard. It’s ready to go right out of the box, it’s even partially charged! The packaging was also very nice and there were extra switches included too.2. Switches – I got mine with the Yellow Switch, which sounds as I expected it to. I think they may be a bit louder than I would prefer IRL. I wfh so it’s not a big deal but this keyboard may be too loud for people in coworking spaces.3. The color – I love the shades of blue on this keyboard! I really like the feel of the keycaps as well. They are slightly tilted upwards, which makes it easy to find the keys you need while typing without looking. However, I can tell that these keycaps are slightly “cheap” feeling, even though I don’t have much else to compare it to with this being my first keyboard. I can just tell by the way they feel. The keyboard itself is STURDY and has a nice weight to it!After a month of use, I’m still very happy with my purchase. As mentioned in the title, the backlight does not shine though the actual keys. So if you are in the dark, and don’t have your keyboard totally memorized, that may be annoying. I don’t mind too much but it’s a small detail I wish that they would have paid attention to. I think it comes down to the fact that these are cheaper keycaps. As a first time keyboard purchase, I don’t regret a thing! I feel comfortable now exploring other switches and modifying this keyboard as I gain confidence towards one day building my own from scratch :)4.5/5 stars – would reccommend if you can get it on sale 😉

Great mechanical keyboard…one year later (update)
Edit: See below for original review. This paragraph is a one-year update. Keyboard has been mostly flawless since I received the replacement, but the battery now lasts about a week. I had returned my original RK keyboard because it did not hold a charge, and this one was good most of the year, but now I have to plug it in weekly. Again, not a major thing since it’s on a desktop PC, but I have a Logitech K780 from 2021 that I have only had to replace the (non-rechargeable) batteries a couple times. I know rechargeable batteries do not have a long shelf life, but I was hoping for two to three years before I had to leave it constantly plugged in.The first one I received would not hold a charge. RK worked with me to troubleshoot but it was just a bad battery. They easily replaced it and the new one is perfect. I would not recommend it for gaming because it does not always register my keystrokes, but I really like it all around. (I still use it for gaming but I notice sometimes I hit a key and it doesnât respond.) I donât like that the lighting is behind the keys which can obscure the white writing on the keyboard. Makes it harder to see the keys. Would have like lit up letters on the keyboard. Volume control works great. Many lighting patterns if youâre into that kind of thing. Heavy and seems well made. Nice wrist rest. Overall nice keyboard

It’s all and more
for the pricepoint it’s a good keyboard it doesn’t click, soft keys and the aesthetics are just there

Awesome clacking and response time
I love this keyboard. Itâs the first time I purchased one but at its sale price itâs awesome.Highly recommend. The keyboard is super responsive and colorful, it doesnât lag at all in games, it feels like the quality is so good that it wonât break and it has this plastic quality that feels exceptional. Heavily recomend.

So far I love it even with the Yellow switches it comes with!
Incredible for the money you spent! The keeb feels solid, no flex and looks incredible on your desk. The RGB really pops through around the keys, the connectivity is great -I only tried the 2.4gz wireless- and just the typing feel is great. The space bar is THOCK. The rest of the keys not so much but they’re not so far away from it. Going to try a combination of different switches and keycaps on this thing soon but so far, I like it a lot highly recommend it if you want a nice compact keyboard to fit other things on your desk like a Muigi glass mouse pad or something like that;)

La verdad es buen teclado. Buen sonido, pero al tener todas las lÃneas del teclado completo se sienten las teclas muy juntas. Mi mano no es tan grande y no me pude acostumbrar a escribir. Lo devolvÃ.
