Reasonably Priced Premium Machine
Yeah, great laptop; the price vs the quality of the build and components is unbeatable from my perspective. Sure, there are minor downsides here and there – the 4k OLED is limited to 60Hz, so things don’t look quite as smooth as folks are accustomed to seeing on super high end machines. The branding is corny and over the top, with stuff like ‘Wow the universe’, and (paraphrased) ‘Creatives are so cool!’ What’s more, you have to buy the full spec model if you ever wanted to have an upgraded amount of RAM.On the flip side, consider the upsides: the price is reasonable. The computer itself is a rock – the screen is bright and beautiful, with deep inky blacks and colors of brilliant color, with a large and useful aspect ratio. The CPU is powerful and zippy. The build quality is very high quality and feels very sturdy in-hand. I detect virtually no keyboard flex despite YouTube videos I saw. The computer feels portable despite the 16 inch screen. It fits nicely in most backpack laptop sleeves rated to 15 inch screen size.If you’re looking for a premium laptop with a sub-$2k budget, you should definitely consider buying this laptop.

Fast & Solid Build with Amazing Display
Disclosure: I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback.Asus has produced a very solid feeling design with an excellent touchpad. The OLED display is outstanding, but so is the performance from the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor. The entire setup here is phenomenal for the price. This easily compares to laptops in the $2,500+ range with the i7-11800H, but the Ryzen 9 5900HX is noticeably faster. The keyboard layout isn’t great, but I’ll adapt. Some improvements would be to have 2 USB-C ports & come with a ethernet adaptor. It does come with a laptop backpack & mouse, a surprising bonus. Anyways, the ASUS VivoBook Pro 16X OLED is a very impressive laptop!

Think twice before make up your mind to buy this notebook
I live in Hong Kong and received this notebook from Amazon in the first week of June, 2022. The notebook was manufactured in March, 2022. The packaging was good. When I turned on the notebook, the performance was great and the OLED screen looks really nice. I have been very careful in using this notebook because it really looked nice. After a few weeks, on July 14, when I turned on the computer, the screen upper right corner was damaged, see the picture. I contacted ASUS in HK and they said this was a hardware problem and asked me to return to their repair center to repair. On July 16 Saturday, I turned it on to try to back up, the screen was completely blackout and could not do anything. On July 18, Monday, I delivered it to ASUS repair center and they said the warranty was not covered because of broken screen. While this notebook has not been bumped or crashed, I think it was because the OLED screen enclosure was not hard enough to protect the screen. When I opened and closed the screen with my right hand, the screen broke after a few weeks usage. This is a desgin fault. Now, ASUS charges me another US$450.00 to replace the screen. I’m in a dilemma to get this screen replaced because I don’t know how long the replaced screen will last after I pay the $450.00. So, I suggest if other consumers are considering this model, it is better to check other models instead of taking risk to buy this unit.

Best laptop available in this price range
This is by far the best laptop I’ve ever owned for the money. Amazing screen, performance and sound. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I haven’t gotten the warranty yet but plan to do so soon to cover myself as I’d hate to be without this thing! As a side note, I noticed Amazon and Asus store (in amazon) have this laptop’s weight listed as 10.1lbs which is a little misleading. On the actual ASUS website, the weight is listed as 4.3lbs (or 1.95kgs) which is correct after I weighed it for myself. I think if this was updated on the Amazon listings, this laptop would be much more in demand. For the size of the screen, it’s not as heavy as you would expect.Thank you ASUS and Amazon for an awesome product.

Good performer, Solid value.
This ASUS is marketed by manufacturer as a high performance “creators'” tool, and, for the price-point, it delivers pretty well on that promotion. I wanted one of ASUS’ more advanced models, thinking that, as I approach 80 as an avid amateur photographer with many thousands of large files, I might be buying my final laptop. Unfortunately, ASUS was simply not able to pull through with production and supply on those models…. perhaps due to the lengthy chipset shortages affecting all sorts of manufacturing. So I settled for this one. Mostly, I’ve been happy with its performance. I LOVE the OLED screen, although the 15″ screen is not the 17″ I’d hoped to buy, so I spoil myself with an external BENQ monitorThe one thing I would caution a potential buyer about, though, is your choice of Intel or AMD Ryzen processor. For the first time ever, I decided to try an AMD Ryzen 9, as I’d read really good things about it. What I’d failed to read, though, is that it does not deploy Thunderbolt. USB C? Yes, I have one C port that I can multiply externally, but Thunderbolt is much faster than just plain C, and having multiple Thunderbolts off the mother board is a godsend for anyone moving large files on and off a computer. Be aware!

Super
Frankly, I am delighted with this laptop. It has a fast bootup and a fast shut down. I’ve used Asus tablets for years and am happy with them. I was using HP laptops and their quality has gone down. The HP’s keyboard keys stopped working, as well as the battery. The HP laptop was always slow. This Asus laptop is wonderful and beats HP hands down. It’s well worth it!UPDATE: My screen will not stop flickering. I have tried everything. ASUS said to see if it flickers while in the BIOS. It does not. If it didn’t, then it’s an app issue. The only things installed are MS Office and OnOne RAW 2023. It’s driving me nuts. I don’t think I recommend this laptop.
