Good Compact Car Charger
The JOYROOM 60W USB C car charger fits a standard car 12v car socket. What interested me in this particular charger is that itâs very compact and sticks out of the socket less than a half inch. I donât know if it can really put out 60W, but the USB C output works really well with my wireless charging mount and charges my iPhone 12 much faster than the standard 2.4A 5V charger this charger replaced. It doesnât seem to get hot while charging my phone. Iâm not a huge fan of the gimmicky illuminated ring on the charger, but itâs not bright enough to be very distracting at night. The cable it comes with is good quality and has a lighted tip which is bright enough to be visible, but not distracting.

This is a review of the JOYROOM USB Car Charger adapter product. This product is designed to plug into a power port (or cigarette lighter port) of most automobiles and to provide power for recharging various electronic devices. This product is capable of supplying power though the two separate power outlet ports. Those ports are a USB-A QC 3.0 port (5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A, 20V/1.5A), and a USB-C PD 30W port (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A, 15V/2A, 20V/1.5A) with a total output of 60 watts for both ports combined. Each port is labeled as to its type (PD & QC 3.0). The USB-A port is capable of conforming to the Quick Charge 3.0 (QC 3.0) charging protocol and the USB-C port is capable of conforming to the Power Delivery 30 watt (PD 30W) charging protocol. The intelligent circuitry in the adapter is also capable of being backwardly compatible with earlier, slower charging protocols, when they are negotiated during the initial handshake process. This charger unit is quite small and barely projects from the vehicleâs power port. A 1-meter long (39â) USB-C to USB-C cable with a braided nylon covering is included with the charger unit. Also, a User Manual was included with the product.This adapter is capable of supplying power to various electronic devices including Apple iPhones, Android phones, Samsung phones, along with laptop computers, tablets, iPads, and any other devices that are capable of charging through a USB-A or USB-C port whether they use the QC 3.0 or PD 30W charging protocols or the earlier and slower charging protocols. This includes jump starter systems, tire inflator devices, flashlights, power banks, and many other devices.I used this adapter to charge my Android phone in the âTurboPowerâ mode and to charge a tire inflatorâs lithium-ion internal battery. I think that this device will work well in my vehicle for all of my devices.

Nice car charger is small and good-looking
We had a problem recently on a long road trip. We were using my wife’s phone (Samsung A53) for navigation, and she had the phone plugged into the charger we had in the car. However, there was some sort of interface problem between the charger and the phone, so the phone was not being charged. It wasn’t a bad cable or a bad charger, exactly… there was something about the combination that the Samsung A53 did not like. The A53 wanted a charge cable that had USB-C connectors at both ends, otherwise it simply would not charge properly. Or at all… we’re still not sure. Also, the Google navigation app drew so much power that the phone’s battery dropped quickly, and we were concerned that the phone was going to die before we got to our destination.So we wanted a new charger, and it needed a USB-C port. Ideally, it would come with a USB-C cable, and the charger would be capable of delivering lots of power. That’s how we picked the Joyroom JR-CCN04 car charger — it has a USB-C port, a standard USB port, it comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and it is rated at 30 Watts of power. (The Joyroom JR-CCN04 car charger actually has a lot of different power capabilities at various voltages, but the important thing is that it can deliver more power than the typical car charger.)For a car charger, the Joyroom JR-CCN04 is small and attractive. It also feels like it is made from metal, and not cheap plastic like most car chargers. I really like the thin rainbow ring that lights up when the charger is powered — this light is small enough to not be distracting, but it has a classy look (see photo).The proof is in the performance. We used the Joyroom JR-CCN04 car charger with my wife’s Samsung A53 phone when navigating, and confirmed that her phone charged while navigation was running. That’s what we wanted to see.I like the Joyroom JR-CCN04 car charger. It is smaller than most car chargers, looks and feels nicer, and it can deliver the necessary power for a demanding application. One more thing: This Joyroom charger fits more snugly in my car’s power port than the other chargers I have. That means that it won’t work its way out of the power port as I’m driving.I recommend the Joyroom JR-CCN04 car charger.

Super fast charges a Samsung S22
I like this charger a lot. It feels well constructed and it super fast charges my Samsung phone using the included cable. The charger fits into the power socket tightly enough that it doesn’t lose its connection if the charger or cable is bumped. The color LED ring around the edge of the charger is attractive without being obnoxious when driving at night (thankfully, the light doesn’t pulse or blink). The included cloth-covered USB C cable is fine. It doesn’t feel as high quality as some other cables I have, but it works. Both ends light up, but only when both are plugged in. It’d be more useful if the ends were always lit to make it easier to find the loose end at night. Since the cable is pretty much a freebie with the charger, that’s a minor quibble.
