Saved a little money buying the refurbished one. But wanted a new one . It’s sold out without a restock date. The refurbished one seems to work great so far. Arrived in like new condition and haven’t had any problems with it.battery last a long time and I read daily. I can easily read in any light conditions.

Good little device
With a wider screen, it’s well-lit, easy to use, downloads books quickly, lighter than my previous version, and comfy in my hand.I wish they still showed the time at the top. I now have to consult my watch, which is a pain. And I’m not a big fan of the yellowish light. I prefer a crisper white background, but whatever. It’s not like developers are going to take heavy users advice. Still no way to properly sort and organize the files, no sub-files, no acceptable method to organize our library, but this was obviously developed by a non-reader. Note to the developers, ASK A HEAVY READER WHAT THEY NEED. I have thousands of Kindle books, and am frustrated about my inability to track what I have, and organize them.

Amazon Certified Refurbs Are Outstanding
This Certified Refurbished Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the most recent of a series of similar purchases from Amazon over the past few years. I have invariably been pleased with every aspect of each and all such purchases, including having saved a substantial amount of money. The most complex item was a Dell OptiPlex 5060 that I have been using daily for a couple of years. Do yourself a favor and check availability of Amazon refurbs and used items in “very good” or “same as new” stated condition before you complete a substantial purchase. You will not be disappointed.

I love it because itâs waterproof. My last kindle was accidentally thrown into a pool. I got this one on one of their sales and it works great and it also accidentally fell into a pool but it works great. ( i read by a pool- never in it- but with kidsâ¦.. love it)

Deceptive Advertising and Pricing
So here you are ready to buy a brand new Paperwhite signature, but then you notice the box that says to consider buying refurbished and theyâll knock $20 off the price. Sounds good right? You click the button to add to cart and since you know already what youâre getting you go right to check out and wait patiently for your device to arrive. When it does youâre happy and go to set everything up and then notice, waitâ¦why are there ads on the Lock Screen? Maybe itâs a setting. Nope. Apparently when you buy the refurbished version of the signature they put ads on it. Despite their ârefurbishedâ policy claiming itâs just like a new device. Well itâs not, now you have ads. A quick check of the webpage reveals that since I did not click in the âno ads optionâ, of which there is no such option for the signature edition, I would have to pay the standard $20 to remove them. So now I have a used unit that I had to pay the full price equivalent for to just to have the same experience. Two customer service attempts failed to help or even comprehend the issue and an escalation to a supervisor resulted in a ten minute wait before my call was disconnected. So buyer beware donât fall for the bait and switch like I did. Return label is printed and Iâll be looking for other options.
