I does what is supposed to do!
The Lonovo go is a great windows gaming device and has great build quality and specs for its size and form factor. It plays most games up to and including AAA games with no problem once the settings are adjusted. It is not a console, it is a windows gaming device and like any desktop or laptop. This means that occasionally you are required to tinker with the device’s settings and the settings for the game you are trying to run. Do not expect the ease of use of a switch which is pre-tinkered for all programs to work correctly. I played doom eternal and at 1200p and found settings that made the game look great and run at a acceptable framerate. It took me about 10 min of changing the settings to get this result. It has no problem with emulation and anyone familiar with those programs, knows about adjustments to the software. 30wat.t tdp mode. It drains the battery faster but I had it plugged in. Update: I adjusted the scaling and got to playable medium high settings. It is a little bigger than a steam deck and I had no trouble with the weight. It has a nifty mouse gun attachment for the right controller for first person shooters and can be used as an external mouse for other applications.I here they had a rocky start with the drivers, but in the settings there is a way to update them to the current state with no issues. I found it to work as well as any other laptop or handheld pc I own.The screen is massive for a device like this but I see other companies trying even bigger screens. It has great color and ranks close the oled screen. I might also suggest that the size be reduced to 7.5 inches for more portability.I have all the GPD devices and a steam deck. If I were to give any suggestions, I would say to experiment with the trackpad on the back of the device (Ps vita). I also like the idea of having a keyboard built in like the slide out on the win3, but until they can make it unintrusive, it will not be a part of this or the next generation of Windows handhelds (I personally think a functional rudimentary keyboard is a must for a win handheld to maximize the game library potential) . My suggestions are a built in laser keyboard (see above) or a text to speech app that works for all applications (I do not think this exists yet). I had trouble with the emulated keyboard signing in to get Doom Eternal to run. I also wish it had at least 1 or 2 usb 3.1 ports and a hdmi video port. I understand I can get an attachment or a dock but then you have created a weird looking laptop. The bottom line is you cannot go wrong with this device compared to the ROG or the Steamdeck the 2 major competitors. Each works better on different games, but they all even out in performance with the Steamdeck lagging behind in due the the lack of the z1 extreme chip.It comes with a nice case, but I wish the power cord fit inside. I do not travel and the battery life may not be the great but not one windows device has great battery life. I suggest getting a battery back up for longer trips. Also as great as the screen is you can get a pair of Xreal or the Lonovo or any of the knock off brand video glasses to create a living room gaming experience anywhere. This is a honest review, I was not compensated and paid retail price for the device. I would say just remember you are not buying a laptop but a gaming device and you will not be disappointed. If you see it on sale it is the BEST of the bunch.I am happy with the purchase and will add to the review the more I use it. Edit: I suggest to buy a mini keyboard and attach it to the back of the device. One with hard chicklet keys, this way they will not be automatically pressed. That way if you need extra inputs you have it.

Runs BeamNG at 60+ FPS
Got this for my birthday while recovering from a surgery. Perfect timing. This runs my favorite games well. Beamng, a demanding game, running on lower settings and resolution is capable of 120fps. Making it look better, I can get at least 60 or 70 and it plays fine. Wreckfest, Minecraft and a few other steam titles have been great on it. It is quite capable as a little PC also and it’s processing power rivals my core I9 9900. The detachable controllers have long lasting batteries and I like the mouse functions. The screen is crisp and bright and I appreciate the build quality of the whole thing. Temps are well under control and the fan is audible, but not intrusive or loud. If I had some gripes, obviously battery life is on the lower side, about 2 hours when really pushing the device hard. And the sound quality of the built in speakers. It’s bad. I expected smartphone like sound, but this is worse. Headphones are a must. I purchased this in Sep 2024 and the device was manufactured in Dec 2023. This is a larger gap than I am used to in tech products. May explain the good deals on this lately!

This thing rocks!
TLDRGaming Performance: 7/10Value For Money: 10/10Build Quality: 8/10Ergonomics: 10/10Battery: 7/10Portability: 7/10Full review:All of the performance of a mid level gaming laptop in an even smaller package. But unlike gaming laptops, Legion Go can actually do the gaming part on its own battery power. The CPU is very fast as well, so for general productivity it’s great. Thermals seem good, the fans are pretty quiet. The display is beautiful. It really looks fantastic. The main unit is very well built, i’d say the side controllers are built ok but don’t seem to attach to the main unit as firmly as i’d like. The controllers are very comfortable and felt like second nature to me as an occasional Xbox user. I was able to jump into Fortnite and start getting eliminations with no problem.Battery life is your choice, as you can control how many watts the CPU can use. When gaming to its absolute limit I was able to get what seemed like over an hour of usage with some power left to spare. While on battery, I got Fortnite to run smoothly at 90fps with some medium-ish settings on DX12 and 1080p, and I got Teardown (with some very demanding mods) to run smoothly on low settings at 1080p. Both games looked great. The one thing that truly bothers me is that the travel case does NOT include space for the charging brick. Not sure how that got overlooked. The built in speakers are bad. HOWEVER, I installed Dolby Access from the microsoft store and using its customizable EQ in that I was able to boost the low end and got them sounding decent enough.
