A Suitable Replacement
I bit the bullet and bought a pair of these Sonxtronic headphones. These are a carbon copy of the coveted Sony MDR W08 headphones that have been discontinued. These phones look exactly like the Sony phones. I have to wonder if the same manufacturer who made these for Sony now manufactures the Sonxtronics. The only difference in these headphones is they are black rather than grey and they have a slightly longer cable. The cable was always a bit too short on the Sony’s so this is an improvement. The sound quality is superior to the original Sony model. The highs are brighter and there is no noticeable difference in the low frequencies. These are delicate headphones and they won’t take a lot of knocking around but they are well worth the $24 price tag. Don’t pay the high prices now being charged for the Sony’s. These are every bit as good at a fraction of the price.

Earphones a bit cheaply made, must handle with care, NO TOSSIN’ them around
I’m pleased to say me order of the SONXTRONIC headphones came in the mail 2 days early. I admit i was a wee bit concerned when i saw the paper bag they were shipped in rather than a box, but i was pleasantly surprised when i saw no damage to the package the earphones were packaged in. I also saw no damage to the earphones themselves, but i am a wee bit concerned with the quality of the earphones themselves, they seem a bit cheep but i have always been someone who if possible when not wearin’ a item return it back to the package it was shipped in, and i will do the same thing with these earphones, hopefully that will help them to last a very long time.Before purchasin’ these earphones i read a number of reviews many stated that the earphones were very tight, but bein’ blessed with a very small head (i wear a 6 3/4 to a 6 7/8 size hat) i didn’t figure i would have a problem with the tightness, and i don’t, i actually have to wear me baseball hat in order to keep it from fallin’ off. I want to say if you have a small size head like i do, you won’t have any problems with the earphones bein’ tight.

Do you miss the comfort of the Sony mdr-W headphones?
Then look at these. Do they sound as good as the old Sonyâs? Nope. These arenât audiophile headphones, these are you just need some headphones to plug in your device. Go spend a few hundred +++ bucks if youâre picky about what your headphones sound like. Seriously – look at the price – what do you expect?For anyone who hates earbuds, has small or sensitive ears (your ears hurt like heck from earbuds of any size) earbuds that wonât stay in because youâre a runner, etc. these are great. If youâre super active and are worried about the cord, get Bluetooth earphones.These donât have good bass in my opinion, so if thatâs really important to you look for something else. The little Sony mdr W series headphones had great sound for little $12 earphones. Amazing for little cheap earphones in fact. Like many, many other people I have no idea why they decided to discontinue them. They have a serious cult following, and would still sell like hot cakes. The only annoying thing was that one side would usually go out from the cord being tugged. Anyway…..I am guessing the same will happen with these. Also they should be $10-$12 earphones, not $24.99 but I was paying for the design/comfort factor.They are the tiniest bit less comfortable than the Sonyâs in my opinion, but absolutely the best substitute I have found. JLab makes a Bluetooth pair of âaudio rewindâ earphones that sound good and are also very comfortable. I purchased those at the same time. You can find them here for here for $15. They are larger (small round piece of foam over your ear) and pretty much look like the headphones that went with Sony Walkmans from the 80âs. Search for JLab audio rewind headphones.I give these 5 plus stars for comfort, but 3 for sound quality. So I split the difference and gave them 4 stars overall. Since I just purchased them I donât know about their life span. Tiny and or sensitive ears rejoice! I am not a big reviewer, but comfortable earphones for small ears are difficult to find. As long as you arenât a sound snob these will work.

Running on a whole nother level
I am a runner and run with a group of ladies at 5am 4 times a week.I count on my music to keep me motivated and push me to the next level, and let me tell you I have left my headphones at home before and the morning was just not the same. My productivity was low.Up until recently, I had been using the Sony MDR-WO8l as my sports headphones of choice and had been really happy with them. But after a little mishap where they flew off my head and onto a concrete floor, I found myself in the market for a new pair of headphones. It was the first time in a long time that I had ever wrecked a pair so I thought I would look and see what was available and find the best one of the bunch.After testing a couple of headphones, I decided on the Sonxtronic XDR-8000.I really really like these headphones.If you are serious about working out and listening to music, you wonât go wrong with the Sonxtronic XDR-8000 sports headphones.First and foremost, the sound is definitely better. I was personally very happy with the original model, but these clearly take the mark when it comes to better quality audio output, the good realistic bass, the crisp highs, and the super clear mid-range tones were literally music to my ears and feet too.But sound output quality is not the only reason that made me choose the Sonxtronic XDR-8000 headphones.Apart from all this royal treatment I was getting from the sound quality I found them to be way more comfortable than my old headphones.These headphones are lighter and come with a longer, more durable cord, and there is a nice finish to the product which makes it not only feel great, as it rests comfortably on your ears, but I think it looks fantabulous on me as well.And the price, let’s just say the price was the icing on the cake.They are one of the most inexpensive of the bunch that I tried, and are just as good as some of the top of the line sports headphones on the market.I don’t know about you but I’m loving my new headphones and if you need a new pair I would definitely cop a pair.Enjoy, I am.
