    Versatile, Comfortable, and Cute!
I purchased this for myself when my Redragon headset finally died out on me. This particular headset was recommended to me by a coworker, and I only needed it for gaming purposes. The color and build is perfect- this is a high-quality headset and you can tell in the overall feel of it alone. The weight is good, it doesn’t feel cheap or too “plastic-y”. In addition, it comes with a ton of different connectors, so no matter WHAT you’re plugging this headset in to, there’s an option for you. I was primarily using the wireless adapter so I could avoid any excess cords. The fit is fantastic, and the ear pads are extremely comfortable. The only downside I found was that the headset tends to slip backwards, and I’m not sure if it’s because I have fine hair or because my head is kinda flat or what, haha. I ended up giving these to my roommate simply because they kept slipping. My roommate has textured hair and a more rounded head, so they haven’t had the same issues I have and they continue to use the headset to with zero complaints.I wouldn’t order this again for MYSELF, simply because of the sliding issue, but if you have a more proportionate head, I would easily recommend these for the quality, sound, and price. (:

    LOVE this headset!
Coming from the Razer Nari Ultimate, this headset is like a feather on top of your head. I like the Razer app for PC and the sound these headsets put out. I tried the Logitech X pro 2 wireless. For the price of that headset I was able to get a new keyboard and a Barracuda headset. I’m glad i made the return. GHUB got nothin’ on Synapse. I also tried the Atlas Air by Turtle Beach, great headset, just not for me. You really cant go wrong with this headset, especially if you have a smaller head (skinny and long face). I literally just put this headset on my head, no adjustments for bigger setting, it cant get any smaller, honestly wish it could hah. But it sounds great and love the no mic build, I rarely used it anyway. Still looking for a future replacement Earpads for it but as of now it doesnt need it, they are way more comfortable than the Logitech Pros, its like a combo of the leather and the breathable earpads combined. No GHUB, or connection issues, PERFECT!! They are so comfortable!!!

    Surprisingly Solid All-Rounder Headphones
My first disclaimer is that I got these on sale for $80. At that price point I’m very happy with my purchase, and going on almost a year now I’m still happy with them. I’ll go down into the pros and cons of the Razer Barracuda below.Pros:- Really decent audio quality. Maybe not up to snuff as an audiophile’s choice, but for a combination gaming-music pair of headphones it’s kinda hard to beat. Couldn’t tell you for certain what the sound signature of these headphones are for certain, but it feels as though they have a mild “pop headphone” listening experience, with a tad more emphasis on the lows than the highs. Granted, these aren’t very bass heavy, but they don’t sound so “flat” if you will. For some people the highs might be a *little* fatiguing as they can be a little grainy sometimes, so depending on the genre or track I might use some EQ to bring the highs down just a smidgen.- Amongst the most comfortable headphones I’ve worn. I have a bigger head, complete with big hair mind you, and I often have the issue of headphones clamping down too hard on my head, but these? I can wear these all day with no problem. The earpads go over my ears (as they should) and are plush enough to be worn without inducing an earache. They might get warm and make your ears sweat if the temperature starts to rise, but if you use these in an AC cooled room it’s hardly a concern at all.- The battery life! I only have to charge these every couple of days or so, and that’s with extended listening every single day. If you’re upgrading from cheaper headphones I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the battery life at all.- Passive noise cancelling. Sure, don’t expect to block out the clatter of nearby dishes, loud cars, or bassy booms, but I should mention that when I have these on my partner has to text me from across the room to catch my attention because they can block out human voice pretty well. It blocks out sound to a decent extent, being closed ear headphones, and so long as you don’t go in expecting ANC (because you shouldn’t) then the muffling it will do to the world around you will be a nice bonus to your gaming and music listening.Mixed:- THX Spatial Audio… It’s… interesting? Perhaps for gaming it might be helpful, but as more of a music listener than a gamer, I can guarantee you want to keep this off. It feels like it demolishes the audio quality of some songs, so I never have it on period. Maybe not every person will see it thag way, and some might prefer the weird simulated, artificial soundstage that THX Spatial audio can grant.- The build. These headphones look wonderful, and I suppose they feel good all things considering. However, I can’t help but feel there’s a missing satisfaction of pretty and distinct metal bits on the headphones. It’s more a gripe than anything, but I suppose they don’t look like the $180 pair of headphones they’re supposed to be to me personally. A certain extra bit of flare would have been nice as they’re quite plain and no frills. Again, this might not matter one bit to you.- The size. These are decently big headphones mind you. This isn’t a problem for me in particular but if you want a pair of headphones you can feel confident taking with you out and about, these won’t be for you. The ears do fold flat, but I would have rathered fixed ears personally since they’re exclusively for at-home use in my situation. I can’t see there being much use for the folding ears unless you intend to put them in a drawer or something if you’re not using them.Cons:- The mic quality. The mic is… not bad…? But not good. Why isn’t this in Mixed? Well, they’re gaming headphones. The integrated “invisible” beam mics are convenient for the sake of not having a boom mic to worry about, but mic quality *noticeably suffers.* Your mates will be able to understand you most certainly, but I might imagine it’s not gonna be the as clear as you might want. If mic quality is a very important part of the deal to you, then I’d suggest to look elsewhere.- The wireless connection. These use a little USB-C dongle to wirelessly connect your gaming peripheral of choice to these nice headphones on your head. The only problem is that this connection can end up being kinda dodgy, despite being right next to the dongle, I’ve found that getting up out of my chair and taking a few steps away can sometimes cause my music to go into full static for a second. It isn’t horrible, but it just feels like if they have a dedicated dongle to connect to the computer and it doesn’t really let you enjoy the wireless experience as much as you might be able to, then why not just use them wired instead? (Bear in mind these do come with a nice audio cable if you want to use them wired.)In conclusion I really like these headphones! In hindsight would I have gone with a different pair? Maybe, maybe not. Admittedly the only thing that enticed me was them being on sale. The funny thing is I only game very casually now and so this are almost exclusively music headphones to me and I’m quite happy with them. I’ll make the shift to audiophile headphones in the future, but honestly, these are very much acceptable to handle all sorts of listening experiences. For gaming, music, movies, etc., it can really do it all.As for recommending this headset…If you’re a casual gamer and/or just interested in the jack-of-all trades nature of this headset, then I say you should give it a shot, though I’d still say picking them up on sale is much preferred. In the end I think it’s certainly worth mentioning that I bought them for gaming and I just wound up using them for music instead. A somewhat backwards but pleasant surprise haha. For the hardcore gamer looking for the perfect pair of gaming headphones? I think there’s better gaming headsets out there at this price range surely. Unless this headset is on a *great sale* (50%+ off) and you’ve already got some sort of external mic to compensate for the lackluster beam mic quality I’d say it might still be worth a shot. Otherwise, don’t bother and look elsewhere for a better dedicated pair of gaming headphones.

I’m deeply impressed by this product. I’m no audiophile, but do own multiple other nice headphones and office headsets.Construction quality seems great. Its all plastic (steel headband adjuster) but feels really solid. Matte finish. Considering the wireless connectivity and microphone and battery, they are impressively lightweight. The 2.4GHz usb-c dongle is critical here. I value low-latency video meetings so plain Bluetooth is not an option. (too much lag) But its also great to be able to take cell phone calls with them and also use for music-only via Bluetooth.Extremely comfortable. Like, wow. The ear cubs are exceptionally deep and large. I have large ears and fit easily within the cups such that all the clamping pressure is distributed on the skull/neck/jaw. Clamping force is medium. I have some lighter headsets, and some stronger ones. Riding a bike would be a stretch, but just sitting in the office I choose to stretch them out a bit to lessen the clamp.Audio is awesome. Bass heavy with sharp mids. They feel incredibly… spacious? Something about the physicality of the set makes the stereo separation beyond compare. It sounds really really good imo. And you can adjust with a THX or a third party app to make the EQ flatter if needed. External sound isolation is good too. I vastly preferred these for music compared to the Blackshark v2 X.Microphone is ok. Without adjustment I found the gain simply too high. But speaking softly, and turning the input level (on PC) down a bit, its pretty good. Very localized pickup. I also predominantly use these in MS Teams which has built-in noise suppression which I turn up to “High”. In un-altered side by side comparison to the “Blackshark v2 X USB”, the Blackshark is obviously lower and also clearer. Probably a better mic. But the Barracuda X will suffice for my workplace meetings and phone calls. (I have relatively high standards for this btw, 80% of headset mics are unacceptable imo) I somewhat miss having a rotating mic boom but having them detachable is the next best thing.Comes with all the cables you might need – all proprietary branded with integrated rubber straps. No carry case. They do not work with the Razer Synapse app (neither does the Blackshark X USB) which seems like a purposeful disabling for this “X” model. It does work with the Razer THX sound app but that has a $ cost and doesn’t control the microphone. For the price I think its a surprising high performing product. From the packaging to the included cables to the audio, comfort, mic, and connectivity, it all speaks of quality. Well done Razer.
