    Great keyboard BUT!!
UPADTE 05/23/2022=============Okay so, apparently the folks over at Redragon saw this review and contacted me and apologized for the two pet peeves I had mentioned in my review. They said they would be taking a closer look at those two issues and that improvements would be forthcoming. They also refunded 1/3rd of the purchase price which thought was very decent of them considering, I have been using the keyboard for about 9 months now. To be honest I was floored because it seems so hard to find a company that actually cares about providing good business and a great customer service experience. And here’s the best part of the experience that really sets this company aside, “THEY NEVER ONCE ASKED ME TO CHANGE THIS REVIEW”. Apparently they just wanted me to be more satisfied then I had been with the experience and IMHO, Redragon succeeded with flying colors!!! That’s also the sole reason I’ve upped this review to 5 stars. Most people probably won’t care about the two issues I covered in my review and for those people I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this keyboard and the customer centric company the stands behind their products! As for me, I’ll be keeping an eye on future releases because Redragon turns out some beautiful keyboards.ORIGINAL REVIEW===============I’ve been using this keyboard for 8 months now and I’ve want so much to like it but there are certain issues that just don’t cut it long term. First off, this is a very nice board for the price. The color is amazing and very bright on the highest setting. It’s a multi-device board and can be used on multiple system which I really needed and the connectivity is great on both BT and 2.4/5.0. I also like that it’s low profile and overall is a very nice looking board. Now for the bad news, for me anyways, this board when on battery goes to sleep after one minute of non-use, which is fine and good. My issue is, and is with all manufactures of this feature, that i do not have the ability to set the time out function to what want. This seems a small accommodation for a $70 keyboard yet it’s not possible. 60 seconds is far to short a time frame, and who makes that call anyway. I’m paying for it why can’t I set it to what I need? This is so damn irritating because it takes 2-3 keystrokes to wake up so I’m constantly correcting typos. 2nd deal breaker is this keyboard is grossly over-sensitive, it’s so sensitive that if i pick it up or move it and drop it an 1/8 inch when setting it down it will actually type characters on screen and launch windows, not exaggerating. It also has a tendency to trigger surrounding keys when typing thus more typos. The keycaps also come off far to easily. If I hold the board with the keys facing down and give it a slight shake about half a dozen keycaps will fall off. This last point is not as much an issue as an observance. The first two however simply make this board unusable IMHO. As mentioned I’ve used this board now for 8 months and I really wanted to love it but it just isn’t a productive keyboard when you spend 1/4 the time correcting typos because of poor design and manufacturer preference over consumer. And yes, you can circumvent the sleep mode with the USB cable but, that defeats the wireless option and I can save $30 on another board if I want to be cabled. It also defeats the multi-device option that I needed. So now I’m, once again, looking at keyboards, they won’t be Redragons either, sorry to say!

    Flashing backlight!
Usually, I’ll wait a few months to write a review on a product, but I really love this keyboard after only receiving it for one evening. Not only does it connect up to all three of my computers/laptop (Two Bluetooth & one on USB. Work with Windows & MAC ^_^), it work almost flawlessly. I say “almost” since the keys are a bit sensitive. When typing, sometime it repeat a typed letter continuously until I press another key or click on the mouse. I have to adjust the keyboard settings to find the best speed and sensitivity, but the repeated typing didn’t truly disappear. Still The best part is that this keyboard is wireless, yet the connection and switching between the three computers/laptop for work and play are seamless. You can control the brightness of the backlight, but not the color. At least not that I can figure out yet. It continuously flash a rainbow color light when in use and to save energy, it turn off after a short while. Just simply touching any key will turn it back on and connect smoothly. You can use that scrolling switch on the upper right corner to adjust the light & volumes. I have not yet figure out how to turn off (if it could be turn off) the Macro keys’ lights. It appears as if one of the G buttons and one of the M buttons is always on.The Linear (red keys) are also very quite. There is indeed a clickly-click sound as its a mechanical keyboard, but the sound is soft enough that I don’t think it bother others. Redragon also provides some replacement keys and tools for replacement, which is nice.I’ve only own it for one evening and half a day, so there is still much to learn & experiment with this keyboard, yet so far so good.Edited on the blacklight: You can indeed change the color! >v< Holding the [FN] + [tab], then [FN] + [Del] will allow you to switch between seven different colors & rainbow. And you can indeed turn off the Marco key's light. Another plus for this keyboard!

Something about most other mechanical keyboards like steel series, razer, and Aukey et al makes me typo like crazy. I wanted a logitech since that’s what I always typed fine on, but they seem expensive or pushing faux mechanical membrane keyboards, so I gave this a shot.So far it’s been great. Something about the key height matches what my fingers want.RGB has some settings, I just took the default rainbow and slowed it down to match everything else.Macro buttons can be programmed WITHOUT any software, which is excellent. Love to see that I’m not pressured into another half baked software suite.Volume wheel is rubber and has some mild detents. Nothing crazy but it feels good and works well.Price was excellent when on sale. Even at regular price, it’s well worth it.Nitpicks:Wish there were multiple positions for the cable.I wish the ferrite bead was at the other end of the table, as it’s at the perfect length to snag the edge of the desk (luckily it’s just a USB A-C cable so it can be replaced if it continues to bug me)

I wanted to update my review.UPDATE ====================This keyboard works and it’s very clever in terms of being a wired/wireless usb / blutooth device. My problem with it is that I have freakishly giant hands (ok… just big hands on a 6′ 2″ lug). The weirdness I experienced had everything to do with my left hand resting on the left side of the keyboard. I didn’t realize that I had some of the keys down.Also.The way you select everything (USB/BT/Led color effects) is really simple. Given the cost, I’m rating it a full 5 but if it were a one bite pizza review (where everyone knows the rules), I’d give it a 9.1.Also.After my initial review, the vendors were quick to ask me what was wrong and offered a number of useful solutions.Given that it was a classic case of user error, I’m happy to report that I have the keyboard hooked up to my circa 2009 HP tower where I run Red Alert on Win 7.It’s a great keyboard.==================== END UPDATEIt’s nice to be able to choose between wired, USB and Bluetooth but the keyboard they sent me is haunted. Ghost characters are inserted into the keyboard stream making this unit a waste of time. I’ve had it over a week and it’s a joke. Like I said, it’s specs are great but if the keyboard doesn’t function reliably then it’s LESS THAN useless. I’ve been running it as a bluetooth device. I really wanted to like this but this is a useless POS. It’s going in the garbage (along with the bluetooth / USB mouse I purchased). I will not waste another minute on it by asking for a refund. Life’s too short. Stay away from this device if you’re looking for a bluetooth keyboard solution. Pathetic.
