The best choice if are you’re already invested in the Google ecosystem.
I’ve been jamming to my favorite tunes and taking calls with the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 since these buds have been released, and here’s the lowdown:First impressions: These buds fit snugly in my ears and feel comfy even after hours of wear. The sound is well-balanced â crisp highs, decent bass, and vocals are clear.Noise cancellation: The ANC does a good job of blocking out distractions, like the rumble of the train or office chatter. It’s not the absolute best I’ve tried, but definitely effective.Transparency mode: It lets in outside sounds, but it can sound a bit artificial. Not bad for quick chats, though. What I loved: * Seamless Google Assistant: Super handy for setting reminders, sending texts, and controlling my music with just my voice. * Multipoint connectivity: Effortless switching between my phone and laptop.Minor gripes: * Had a few hiccups with connectivity, but nothing major. * They’re a bit pricey.Final verdict:The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a solid choice, especially if you’re deep in the Google world. They’re comfortable, sound great, and the Google Assistant integration is top-notch. Just be aware of the occasional connectivity quirks and the price tag.

Better than Galaxy Buds Pro 1 and 2 in almost every way
I’ve been using Galaxy Buds Pro 2 for a long time and became accustomed to them constantly slipping loose, needing adjustment, and doing without the touch controls because they didn’t work well and half the time would pause the music when I frequently adjusted them. These are smaller, lighter, more comfortable, stable in my ear, and the touch controls pretty much always work correctly. I habitually and unnecessarily adjust them because of muscle memory from the Samsung ones and have never triggered an accidental touch while doing so.I’m not an audiophile and I can’t hear a difference in the sound quality. They both sound great to me. These have noticeably better ANC and connected to my new Pixel phone automatically when I opened the case the first time and they always connect almost instantly. The case is nice, though bigger and heavier than the Samsung’s. Build quality, fit and finish, whatever for buds and case is about the same as the Samsung’s.The case has a cute little speaker that chimes for certain events and presumably can be used to find the thing if you leave it in your coat pocket in the closet.Note about ordering these from Amazon – they were supposed to arrive the next day but were a day late, presumably because of the sale price. They were also delivered to the wrong address and I was lucky to track them down before they were stolen. I’d just blame the driver but Amazon is ultimately responsible for that so boo.

A solid choice with room for improvements
The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 in Hazel offer a compelling package of features and performance, but they aren’t without their quirks. Here’s a breakdown:What’s to love:Excellent Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): The ANC on these buds is truly impressive, effectively blocking out a wide range of noises. It’s a noticeable improvement over the previous generation and rivals some of the best in the market.Comfortable fit: Google has clearly put effort into the design, and it shows. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are comfortable to wear for extended periods, even with my somewhat sensitive ears.Great sound quality: The audio is well-balanced with clear highs, punchy bass, and a detailed soundstage. They may not satisfy the most discerning audiophiles, but they’re more than adequate for most users.Seamless integration with Google Assistant: If you’re deeply embedded in the Google ecosystem, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 offer seamless integration with Google Assistant, allowing for hands-free control and quick access to information.Improved transparency mode: The transparency mode is more natural-sounding than previous iterations, allowing you to be aware of your surroundings without sacrificing audio quality. What could be better:Finicky touch controls: The touch controls can be a bit hit-or-miss, sometimes requiring multiple attempts to register the desired action.Occasional connectivity issues: While generally stable, I experienced a few instances of brief connection drops, particularly in areas with high wireless interference.Price: The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are positioned in the premium segment, and while they offer good value, they are not exactly budget-friendly.Overall:The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a solid choice for anyone seeking comfortable earbuds with effective noise cancellation and good sound quality. The seamless Google Assistant integration is a bonus for those invested in the Google ecosystem. However, the occasional connectivity issues and finicky touch controls prevent them from achieving true excellence.Recommendation:If you prioritize comfort, effective ANC, and seamless Google Assistant integration, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a worthy contender. However, if you’re on a tighter budget or demand flawless touch controls, you might want to explore other options.
