The K7 Plus is a Great Mini-PC from GMKtec!
This is my third GMKtec mini-PC and this one is another strong performer. I purchased two different models before and have experience with their AMD units, but the K7 PLUS is my first GMKtec Intel mini-PC.Biggest Pros Out of the Box:- Solid and performant Intel Raptor Lake CPU in a small, lightweight package, with quiet operation under normal use.- Windows 11 Pro pre-installed with NO bloatware (a pleasant rarity among system builders these days).- 32GB of DDR5 running at 4800 Mhz – as advertised without having to change this in BIOS.- 2TB NVME (Mine had the Lexar NM620 installed, though YMMV).- GMKtec support is great. No issues with the K7 PLUS. When I had a manual BIOS update issue with one of my other GMKtec units in the past they were helpful, friendly, quick (though you may have to wait for a support email response on Shenzhen, China time), and delivered a hardware replacement exactly as promised.Chassis is plastic, not aluminum. It has a premium design and look, lots of ventilation, and the choice of plastic keeps costs down. Even under heavy loads, the processor remains relatively cool thanks to the well designed cooling system. The fan only kicks in during the most demanding tasks, and even then, it can be noticeable but not overly loud.Iâve used this driving both 4k and 2k 120hz displays and it is very smooth. I also have the setup in a portable/travel mode. Connecting a 1080p portable monitor on the road or to external displays, a hotel TV, or projectors while traveling is a great way to use this too. It also makes for a great home theater PC – I am really enjoying it so far!Whatâs Inside:- GMKtec Mini PC with Intel i7-13620H with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD- 120W power brick with barrel connector- VESA mount (for mounting the PC to the back of a monitor)- HDMI cableI may keep this as a mini-PC for travel, use it in as a home theater PC, or move it into my HomeLab and configure it for serving media or running Home Assistant and other virtual machines. If you’re looking for any of the above this is definitely more than capable and I can certainly recommend it!

Powerful and Versatile Mini PC for work, media, home server, cloud. It can do it all
This GMKtec K7 Plus with i7 13620H is on the higher end mini pc. The size is bigger than N95/N100 mini pc I had. This machine will meet all your need typical office usage, video editing, photoshop, huge documents, huge spreadsheets with ease thanks to fast CPU and 32GB ram.As with all GMKtec products, the provided BIOS is very extensive full of options but sticking to the default is good. On the Advanced tab, the power limit can be change from Quiet, Balance or Performance but most people should stick with Balance.I check the power usage using a smart plug with power monitor.Power usage idle is around 10WPower usage heavy load is 50W to 85WLinux Test:I was able to boot and run Ubuntu 24.04 (Kernel 6.8) without any issue. Everything works out of the box. In fact, I prefer Linux over Windows 11 for this machine.However, I got black screen booting from USB on older Linux distros like Linux Mint 21, Zorin OS 17, POP OS (maybe older kernel or hardware incompatibility?) Good things there are new version of these OS coming very soon.Pros:- Very powerful CPU, 3 to 4 times faster than N95 and N100. In fact, it’s one of the fastest mobile CPU out there on the market.- USB-C port with USB-4 / thunderbolt port available. This will allow external dock or external GPU for your gaming needs- 32GB SO-DIMM RAM (2 16GB sticks) and upgradable- 2 NVME SSD slots storage. Included drive is BIWIN brand- Dual 2.5Gb/s ethernet ports. This machine will be great to use as Proxmox, Openmediavault, file server, media server.Cons:- Fan noise: it’s louder than lower wattage mini pc. Also one of the fan (under top case) is on at all time and doesn’t turn off- Power brick is big and bulky- iGPU performance is worse than AMD 780M iGPU so only allow basic gaming like League of Legends, 2D games, indie games. No AAA games, high end games unless you add external GPU via USB-4 portPricing:This product has great value for what you get in a compact package.- Very power CPU, 2TB, 32GB DDR5 ram and 2 2.5Gb networks.- A mount so you can mount it behind a monitor and included high quality HDMI cableOverall, I like the product. I would recommend this product for people who need more CPU power than low end Minipc and a versatile box to repurpose as server machine later down in a few years.
