Works perfectly with MacBook Pro and Rode Microphone
I wanted this mic for teaching an online university class. It connects my Rode microphone seamlessly to my MacBook Pro. Easy to see the VU meters int he Sound control panel to make sure it is working. Happy with my purchase.

    Disappointed
Our audio sounded horrible. It didn’t take long to realize it was this product distorting it! As soon as we disconnected it, everything sounded just fine.

USB Sound Card: A Solid Upgrade for Gaming
This USB sound card offers a noticeable improvement in audio quality, especially for gaming. I have a wired headset that was having serious noise when connected to my onboard soundcard, but this card fixed that issue. The virtual 7.1 surround sound creates a more immersive experience. While it’s not a night-and-day difference, it’s definitely worth the upgrade for gamers looking to enhance their sound. The plug-and-play setup is convenient, and the PUBG sound effects are a nice bonus for fans of the game.

A few perks, but mostly a USB to headphone/headset adapter
So this device is a USB sound chip that plugs into a USB-A type port, and offers a headphone/headset port, a headphone only port, and a microphone in port. The device, at least for Windows, was plug and play and immediately worked without any setup. The virtual 7.1 sound processing does work, and I would say it sounds better than the unprocessed signal. The device also offers a volume knob and can do a 15% amplification, and has a mute button. I am not a LOL or PUBG player, so I did not test the special sound effect function for those games. So what do I think? It is a decent little device. It does offer a few perks over a vanilla line out. But unless you have a laptop that doesn’t have inputs for headphones/microphones, or the built in sound output on your device is especially bad, I don’t see this being a “must have” upgrade dongle. If you do need a USB to 3.5 adapter because your device lacks 3.5 jacks, I’d say this is better than most of those. Perhaps if you have a desktop and would rather plug headphones into the front instead of the back and your case doesn’t have a front line out, this might offer utility there too. It’s not a bad device — I actually think it is quite good. It’s just kind of unneccesary for many computer setups.Do note that this is USB-A. If your laptop is based on USB-C ports, you will need a dongle.

USB Audio Thingy: Not Amazing, But Gets the Job Done
Alright, let’s talk about this USB audio doohickey. Is it gonna blow your mind? Nah. But might it save your bacon if you’re stuck with a laptop that’s stingy on audio ports? You bet.The “Meh” Stuff:- Sound quality: Let’s be real, it’s not winning any audiophile awards. The sound’s a bit hollow, like listening to music in an empty apartment.- “Virtual 7.1”: Yeah, about that… It’s basically just stereo with some fancy effects. Don’t expect to be surrounded by sound.- Game presets: They’ve got presets for specific games, which is weird. It’s just EQ settings, nothing magical. The “Hey, That’s Actually Useful” Stuff:- Multiple outputs: You can plug in two sets of headphones and a mic at the same time. For my laptop with its lone headphone jack, this is pretty sweet.- Compatibility: It plays nice with pretty much any headphones or powered 3.5mm – 1/8in mic you throw at it.- Plug and play: No messing around with drivers. Just plug it in, and you’re good to go.Real Talk:If you’re trying to produce the next chart-topping hit, this isn’t your guy. But if you’re just trying to game with friends or jump on a Zoom call without your laptop throwing a fit? It’ll do the trick. The buttons are handy for quick mutes and volume changes. Just don’t expect miracles from those game sound effect buttons.Bottom Line:It’s a solid 3 out of 5 stars. Not amazing, not terrible. It’s the audio equivalent of a ham sandwich – it’ll fill you up, but you’re not writing home about it.If you’re in a pinch with a port-starved laptop and need something to get you through, this little gadget might just save your day. Just keep your expectations in check, and you’ll be fine.

Decent sound adapter for adding 7.1 surround sound
Give yourself more options for sound and quality for your computer. Having a physical volume knob is nice as it is quicker than keyboards or virtual volume slider. Allows you to attach multiple headphones and a microphones or combinations headphones quickly and easily. Like having a portable studio in your bag.
