    Screen was smashed
Of course Amazon agreed to send me another one, which I should get soon. I have been using a similar Acer unit for years without incident, but the Chrome browser has become obsolete, and it can no longer be updated. I will change this review when I get a new, operational unity. The way it was packaged, one would have thought it to be nearly impossible to damage.Absolutely no documentation, I cannot get the back panel off to access the ports, power plug, etc.The Keyboard is for a windows machine and it is incredibly cheap. I ordered a Chrome O/S machine, I assume it will be when I can figure out how to get it started.

    Pleasantly surprised!
I truly hesitated before spending the money on a refurbished computer, especially with only 2 reviews on the site and both of them 1 star only. However, when my research showed a minimum price for this model, brand new, at about $700 (and over $1000 in a couple of places) with only 4 gigs ram and 128 storage, I decided it was worth the $290, especially since it includes 16 gigs ram and over 500 gigs storage. And, since it is fulfilled by Amazon, I would have more recourse if there was a problem with delivery or if there was a need to return it.Still somewhat distrustful of a used computer, I spent the $50 for a 4-year extended warranty. It is very unusual to find a refurbished product with that long a warranty for that low a price. I could only conclude that this company is known for quality products. It is only a couple of days since I received it. I was planning to wait for a month or two, but will update this review if anything happens in the future. (I’m not too concerned about it because I did get the extra 4-year warranty.)Everything works perfectly – it took me about 2 hours to redo some of the settings and such, since this computer is way upgraded compared to my previous chromebook (2 gigs ram, 32 gigs storage and oh so very slow, almost useless). It is so very fast, I almost swooned with joy! I have 5 or 6 open tabs and you would never know it. There is so much storage space, I put my entire drive offline and still have more room than I could ever use. The screen resolution is excellent, the size of the monitor is great for my tired older eyes – I can now make the fonts as large as I want! The mouse is decent. I use my own backlit keyboard so I have no comment on the keyboard that came with it – I never even opened the box. There is a tiny glitch – hardware-wise: The plastic of the stand is relatively cheap and was difficult to maneuver to get the height and angle I wanted. I managed it and found that the right side of the monitor is slightly lower than the left side (ok, so I’m a serious perfectionist!). I assessed it critically, if not scientifically, and put a small piece of cardboard under the right side of the stand, and now it is perfect). So, I feel I can recommend this company, this computer as top of the line, for now. More to come if there are any problems.

    Buyers Beware
Ordered a new unit, got sent a refurbished one. Giving me a hard time making me jump through hoops to get it settled thinking I’ll give up. Beware, it’s happening all the time.
