Acer built another winner
Absolutely solid machine that feels beefy and tough without being heavy. The battery life is incredible; you could get two full days work out of one charge. The screen is amazing with a nearly bezel-less design. The touchscreen function is on point with the capability to tap the screen while simultaneously tracking the pointer with the pad. Responsive and well built underlit keyboard. Multi-tabbing is no problem and barely slows the performance. The only caveat is the touchpad occasionally misinterprets multi-touch gestures such as zoom, but the touchscreen can be used to compensate so that really isn’t a problem.

I purchased the RyzeYn 3, 14″ WUXGA. Has a touchscreen, solid camera, decent streaming video quality, easily setup as an android customer through Google account, syncs to phone seamlessly, has Chromecast, very responsive, this is a great bang for your buck laptop as an adult user. Takes about an hour to charge from dead to full with supplied charger. Charge lasts longer than expected. The hinge is 180°, which is nice when laying down. Will update review if any problems arise but for now, highly recommended.

Love the touch screen feature! Son is in the 10th grade and this is a perfect Chromebook for him. Very nice, lightweight and easy to start up. Highly recommend.

Overall good chromebook, but a few things to know
I really like this Chromebook. I have been reviewing quite a few before choosing this model. Seems to work well while watching youtube, shopping online, reading email, etc. I specifically choose a model with top facing speakers as the model I was replacing had speakers on the bottom. Which was useless with the Chromebook on my lap. BUT an issue I do want to add is that the speakers are not that great. My cell phone has better speakers. These tend to sound rather “tinny”. I am rather disappointed with the speaker sound to be honest. One other thing to note, is when this arrived the screen ratio is more box-like than the traditional 16×9 I think may of us are accustomed to.OK, but those are a few things that I am not happy with, but other than that. This is a very good Chromebook. Battery Life is great, charges very quickly. I think the keyboard seems solid when typing. There is NOT a back light keyboard, if that is important to you. I hope some of this information helps some others. Very well worth the $299 price that I got this model at.

Excellent!
I got this for my wife who’s old Chromebook was past the support date and anyway was painfully slow. Because she already had a Chromebook, the learning curve was quick and easy. This one is much faster, and she likes the touch screen which the old one didn’t have. I’ve had good luck with Acer products. I have an old Acer laptop which had an obsolete and unsupported Windows OS. I loaded Linux Mint Xfce and while it doesn’t exactly zip it’s much faster.

Works as advertised
The chromebook works well. It’s a good size and has a nice appearance overall. Very light weight and the brightness is adjustable to your liking. I’ve had no troubles connecting it to WiFi networks or Bluetooth devices. Overall great for what I intend to use it.

Cannot yet get AI Premium plan perk
Tuesday morning, November 26, I bought an Acer Chromebook Plus 514 from Amazon. It arrived the evening of the next day. I set it up the next morning. Thanksgiving! Setup took a little time, but most of it was painless.I finally hit a hard barrier when trying to activate the AI Premium Plan, which is advertised on Amazon, and everywhere else I’d looked, as free for the first year. Every route I tried landed me somewhere with a button that said “Get Perk.”Pressing those buttons always took me to an advertisement for Chromebook Plus models.Eventually, I admitted defeat and contacted Google support through chat. After an hour and a quarter of explaining the problem, getting put on hold, sending screenshots, copy-and-pasting terms of the offer, and following directions from Roxie, the Google support rep on the other end, he said he would have to refer the problem to “the engineers” to find out why I had no way to sign up for the offer.He said he would contact me by email in 24 to 48 hours. 27 down, 23 to go.I can’t believe I’m an unusual case, so either (1) Google support is ignorant of the fix for a common issue, or (2) Google (or Acer) has blundered. Google should be able to move to fix either problem quickly.Will it? I’ll post updates as a public service.

Very modern-looking, lovely speakers, didn’t come with a touchscreen, great overall.
I would rate this 4.8 if I could. It’s very modern, fast, I can easily game on it, and the speakers are plenty enough loud. I would remove 0.2 stars out of 5 because it doesn’t have a touchscreen, so I’m a tiny bit disappointed, but I still love this device overall. Every single dollar was worth it.
