    Fantastic monitor for gaming
The “Acer Predator X27U” once shipped arrived quickly and in excellent condition, working perfectly. The first thing I did was update the firmware to 2.0. The image quality, contrast and colors are fantastic. The HDR is great and the brightness is more than enough; I feel comfortable with the brightness at 50% and more brightness is too much. The matte finish seems perfect to me and eliminates the annoying reflections that “glossy” finishes produce. Most importantly, this monitor does not cause headaches, vertigo or dizziness, is less eye straining and gentler on the eyes than any IPS.With AMD Fluid Motion Frames and a 7800 XT video card I can run most games closer to 240 fps (or more). The 26.5″ size is very suitable for a desktop and I expect a 27″ or 28″ version with 4k @ 240Hz will be available in the near future.Cons: The headphones output produces digital noise that I have not been able to eliminate.

    100% regret buying…
Absolute trash. the first and most annoying part, is you get this pop up notification for “image retention” even while in the middle of gaming. notification pops up every hour if u select “no” and every 4 hours if u select “yes.” and if u select yes, ur down 5 mins on a black screen. literally cannot think of a true gamer on this planet that would love to have that as a feature. i could understand if the monitor was in idle for so long. but no, does matter what ur doing. on top of that, when the monitor goes to sleep mode. there was 50/50 chance that i couldnt get the monitor to turn back on. just kept getting a no signal. the only fix was for me to use my second monitor and restart my pc. then it was able to work again. graphics are decent, is literally the only positive thing i can say about this monitor. but i would, 10 times out 10, buy any 1080p monitor over this pile of overpriced garbage. if i had to label it, “annoying” would be the best word to describe it.

Bad for gaming due to image retention warning.
So the panel is really nice and thing feels well built but one firmware “feature” makes me wish I didn’t buy this monitor. There is a random warning that the monitor pops up over your screen that says this:”It is suggested to process Image Retention Refresh when using monitor for more than 4 hours. The blue and amber light will alternate and monitor will be restarted. If confirm, please press Yes. Do not unplug the power during the process.”But pops up withing an hour or two of being turned on. And will continually pop up throughout use. I play online games and the warnings randomly covering the middle of my screen every day throughout the day are very frustrating. There is no way to disable the warnings.

Gaming only, not for MacBooks or IOS device.
Great product but I’m not a gamer, so this was the wrong monitor for my needs of high-resolution graphic editing and text resolution for my MacBook Pro.

    Fantastic Monitor
I have used this for both productivity and gaming over the last month. I heavily suggest taking advantage of the settings and creating modes for both if you plan to work and game on this monitor.Image retention refresh is nice setting and the message pops up every 4 hours or so to remind you.Text clarity is often talked about as a drawback to OLED tech, yet all text is sharp on this monitor and I have not noticed any blur. At certain settings, certain shades of yellow tend to “bleed” but I only notice this when using for productivity.I switched from a 1440p-144hz LED/IPS panel to this one and can say there is a large difference in image quality, sharpness and color depth.Overall, solid for the price, would be very difficult to switch back to an LED for gaming at this point.

    DO NOT BUY
Purchased this monitor as it was cheap for an OLED. The reviews seem to state it is not the best but serviceable. This is NOT TRUE. The monitor itself will not work correctly with my 4080. Graphics card is sending 1440p signal but it displays 2560×1080. The monitor menu states 2560×1440 when the actual display is 2560×1080. If you select 2560×1440 from the nvidia menu the monitor is limited to 60HZ but at 2560×1080 you can get 240hz.Stay far away from this. I am going to refund the one I purcahsed and just spend the few hundred dollars and get one that works. I own old school fast TN panels, the samsung 49 inch, and was swapping out a TN for this OLED (in other words, I’m a gamer that buys decent stuff). Stay away from this, it is absolutely not worth the few bucks you are saving.
