Xandra –
The best ESL teaching tool.
AGO cards are the best product I’ve found to help in my low-level ESL classroom. The concept is like UNO (which is easily understood cross culturally) but with a language element. It’s a nice mix of a competitive game and language practice. These ones are based on phonics, so teacher supervision is needed during the game to correct pronunciation. I use the Q&A cards as well and they’re great.

fun way to learn/review phonics
I tutor elementary children during the summer and this is a fun way to see what they already know and what they need to practice. It’s also a fun way to review skills. The 3 levels are great. These are a good fit for skills taught in K – 2nd grade. I remove the “extra cards” like change direction, jump, pick one, and change color because they aren’t really necessary when playing with only 2 people. This also helps keep the game moving.

Great
Got this because my nephew is struggling with learning to read. I love that it has various games you can play and different levels of challenge. Kind of like Uno but for reading. Looking forward to playing it as a family!

Purchased for classroom
Using these in small groups on Fridays as a reward for working hard all week. I have students read the words on the cards out loud before they play them. Works great for extra practice and they do not even realize they are working.
