Top Tier CPU you won’t have to upgrade for years
You should get a 8 core chip over the cheaper 6 core chipsIt’s not just productivity but also gaming and you won’t need to upgrade for a number of yearsIt’s Rock Solid and super fast also very easy to cool.yes review sites were disappointed about the performance increase over the 7700Xbut the improvements are also a better memory controller and less power (Cooler running)Don’t cheap out on the CPU

All that on 65w?
Impressive chip, but expensive. Very fast all around and just sips power. It gets a lot of hate, but I personally love the efficiency gains with this gen. 7700x was hot and hungry. This out performs it and is very easy to keep cool. Perfect for SFF PC’s!

Another great AMD
I have run AMD CPUs for a while now in most of my builds and had great luck with them. I was upgrading from a 3600 and saw that I could get the 9700X with much better benchmark scores without having to increase past 65W TDP. I ran Passmark on it and came back with slightly better than their average score for the CPU, so I am happy. Running it with an MSI X670 Tomahawk board, Noctua NH-D15 cooler, 32 GB of Teamgroup RAM, and a Radeon 6650 XT. It has performed excellently both in workstation type usage as well as medium-heavy gaming and has been a large upgrade in real-world observable speed from my 3600.

It doesn’t deserve a lot of the hate
The low tdp means this CPU is amazing for low performance coolers and itx cases, it’s price is a bit steep for a lower mid range CPU like it’s self but it can run most of the games I play at 165 fps all of them are very CPU based, temps dont go above 85 even with the 105watt tdp mode and pbo enabled and all I have is a thermalright aqua elite 240 in a LianLi a4 H20. It’s stable and hasn’t crashed ever overall the hate it receives I don’t think is deserved anyway good CPU I would recommend

After Nov 2024 Updates We’ll Worth It
Using 9000 AMD series you will need to BIOS FLASH your motherboard before installation for it to work.Latest AMD Nov 2024 updates finally unlocked the potential of the 9000 series and also brought a105 watt mode. There hasn’t been much difference or improvement of the 7700X over the 9700X and even power draw when tested isn’t much different, until recently. After latest updates the 9700X is avaraging a 12-16% improvement over the 7700X and using slightly less power draw. More than the original advertised 65w sure but with 105w mode enabled still proving to be more efficient and most definitely running cooler temperatures. Using an X670e motherboard, currently my PC case fans are barely functional but with just a cheap 6 heat pipe horizontally mounted heatsink cooler and added 120mm Noctua on top of it, the CPU has not passed 65 C temps. My experience has been plug and play, using MSI BIOS auto overclock the CPU regularly engages a speeds of 5.4Ghz.I was apprehensive if the 9700X was worth while over the 7700X. Before Nov the answer was no. But now after the latest updates I can confidently say yes.

Good Performance and Runs Cool.
The Ryzen 7 9700X has been a good upgrade for my PC. This 8-core, 16-thread processor delivers a balance of gaming performance and productivity. I can run most games at a consistent 150 FPS. Whether Iâm playing graphically intense AAA titles or editing video, everything runs smooth as silk. One of the standout features is its low TDP, which makes it incredibly easy to cool. Even during extended gaming sessions, the temps stay well under 85°C with a standard air cooler. No need for an elaborate cooling setupâitâs efficient and reliable right out of the box.The unlocked design also offers room for tweaking, and Iâve had no issues with stability during overclocking. Itâs perfect for gaming, streaming, and even productivity tasks like video editing. If youâre looking for a processor that balances power, efficiency, and value, the Ryzen 7 9700X is an good choice. I couldnât be happier with its performance

Works great, recommend!
Fairly easy install, if you know what you’re doing. Paired this with a MSI X670E MB and life is good. Runs like a champ!

I don’t notice any dropped frames in any of the games I previously did, Photo editing, and photogrammetry in webODM/meshroom is much faster. runs cool and efficient, but can be overclocked easily in BIOS.for pure gaming I would recommend X3D, but this one is great for mixed use.

Imho right now the best value proposition for a last gen gaming CPU. No extra 3D cache means way lesser money. In my case paired with an RTX 4070 Ti.

I was realy impresed, single core performance is just wow, but multicore lacks a little power, but realy good processor
