    Darn near perfect for travel.
I’m a big fan of Anker products, and this is among their best. If you need a travel charger or a portable battery backup, this is a no-brainer.First, the power plug is integrated into the unit, making it no larger than your typical electronics charger but this one has a battery. It is the perfect power bank for those suitcases which have a pocket to keep such a power supply handy and allow you to plug in your devices externally into a plug in the suitcase itself. Also, it charges other devices at a pretty fast rate. I had this plugged into a Nintendo Switch for a 3-hour flight and it kept the Switch fully topped off (but effectively drained the power bank) for the duration. Given the Switch is a bit of a power hog, that’s pretty impressive. All you have to do is plug the PowerCore into an outlet and let it charge back up once you get to the hotel or even an airport. It has two USB ports for charging other devices. The PowerCore seems a little slow to charge when plugged into the wall, though it’s hard to tell as there are only three blue LED indicators to judge the charge level from. Leaving it plugged into a wall outlet for 45 minutes when down to a single LED did add another LED’s worth of charge to the indicator (I was waiting in an airport for a connecting flight). It functions well as a wall charger for phones, tablets, game systems, etc. However, it cannot charge both itself and your devices at the same time. It will prioritize charging your devices until they are fully charged then will switch to charging its internal battery. This isn’t normally an issue if you can plug it in overnight at the hotel, but could add time overall. It can also be charged via micro-USB on the front (from a laptop, etc.), but this smaller port is input only.I wish for only a few slight updates which may come in later models. First, I’d love for it to charge from the wall both the internal battery AND the external devices (e.g., my iPhone and iPad) simultaneously. Second, it’d be nice if there were more than two output charging USB ports. Third, I wish there were some sort of built-in cable storage on the outside of the case (not unlike how MacBook power supplies have flip-out hooks to wrap the cable around) so as to keep the charging cables tidy. The unit itself is so sleek and self-contained it ought to help with the cable tangle issues, too.Overall, though, this is a must-have travel charger and power bank all in one.

    Another top product from Anker
Okay, so another in the LONG line of superb Anker products. I love this little device. As per usual, it has 3 blue lights that are a bit cryptic. The come on when your charging and blink until you have a full charge, then stay on. They also come one when powering something else to indicate available draw. You’ll notice 3 holes in the front, the top two are USB charing ports both 2.1amps. the bottom one is a USB input so you can charge this from something like a car charger when a wall outlet isn’t available. It works like a wall charger, providing 2.1 amps to each output USB port. If you plug something in, that device will get the full attention until it’s charged, then the wall circuit will switch over to charging the Anker. When unplugged, the battery provides 3 amps to each port and can accept a 2 amp charge from another source. One button on the device. Push it to check the charge level, or to begin charging to the USB ports. In short, it’s a handy device, replaces both a battery and a dual port wall charger.Update: finally put it to the test. I drained the battery on my Moto G4 to about 20% and plugged it in. I got a flashing power indicator and the battery level still dropped. This is, apparently a problem with whole Moto line. they have a “turbo charge” feature that prevents them from properly using some external devices. This seems to be one. However, with the phone completely off, I got it charged back up above 20% in about 5 minutes. So all is not lost.Another Update: Turns out, after playing with the cables, there was a bad cable in the mix. Slow to charge, but works now.

    A great “combo” for travel.
Every time I travel I’d have to remember to bring my phone charger. If I wanted to bring a separate battery charger, I’d have to remember that. So two items. Okay, so two items isn’t so bad. But does it have to be two? Who doesn’t forget a cord or charger now and then?So when I get to said place, I would plug my stock charger into the wall with a single USB connection for the phone. If my battery is not prepped, I’m now charging my phone and remembering to charge the battery later in the day or at night.Okay, so it’s not that big of a deal, remembering and prepping the device. But sometimes I forget and sometimes I’m running out the door. Darn being a man and not preparing properly! So this device? It is always plugged in by my bed. I charge my phone at night. When the phone is finished charging, this device charges and keeps its charge. When I’m ready to run out the door for travel, I pull a single device from the wall and it is both my charger and battery. If my girlfriend needs a charge along with me, I have two ports. Bingo. Enough juice to charge my phone at least 1.5x over. So now I don’t have to think as much. “Okay, Adam,” I tell myself. “Just grab the charger and the already-attached USB cord and you’re good!”I used to lust for HUGE mAh batteries, but real life showed me that I am personally never in need of a battery that large. 5,000mAh is plenty for me and probably 9 out of 10 people. After all, by the end of the day when you place your head on your pillow, there is certainly an outlet within reach 99.9% of the time. By the time you wake up, your phone and spare battery are ready to go.What could make this better? Quick Charge. I won’t take a star off the review, because I knew what I was getting and I hate marking off stars for features that I KNEW were not included at time of purchase. Like, this doesn’t blend smoothies, so I won’t hold it against the product because I knew it couldn’t do that when I bought it. QC would be nice, as I’m spoiled. My stock charger offers this feature, but I can live without it in this case. Nighttime charges offers me 7+ hours of uninterrupted charging which is more than enough time for the phone and battery, even if each was dead.It is pretty compact. Would I like it to be smaller overall and maybe thinner? Sure. Maybe one day as battery technology advances, but this is still rather small and very easily slips into a purse, handbag, suitcase, glove box, etc.Needless to say I’m happy with the product. Oh yeah, packaging was very nice. So many online reviews seem to focus on that. As long as it comes with the advertised products and accessories, undamaged, I’m happy. But people like nice, shiny boxes and this package was very crisp. So for the extra $1 this product cost due to your nice shiny packaging, I hope you’re all happy with the unboxing experience. 🙂

When I first got one, it had a bad battery right. Wouldn’t hold the charge like a powerbank but would only charge if plugged in the wall as a wall adapter.Contacted the support, they sent the replacement the very next day. And the that works like it should. I keep one in my office bag for on the go need as well as multi usb ports does help. The size is good, comes with a fabric pouch and a usb.Cons (Minro):Need fast charging ports. Current ports charge good but are outdated.Maybe bigger battery for the same size.Overall, exactly what I wanted.A powerbankA wall adapter – Can charge from wall outlet or a micro usb.Multi USB ports.Very happy.

Saw this and it was an instant buy….Great gadget from Anker, 5000 mAh is a enough for most people, this lets me recharge my iPod around 3-4 times, has enough power to top up our iPad mini. Unit is not as small as some of the Anker packs for the same capacity but of course you have inside this a full wall charger. This is a true 2 in 1 unit. And works perfect. This is the best part, lets say your charging a device and it’s plugged into the wall and you need to go out and it’s not fully charged. No problem just pull it from the wall and the internal battery will kick in and continue charging your device (as long as your internal battery is also charged)You can also cut down on stuff to take I have now removed the wall charger and battery pack charging cable from my bag, in my case all I need is two lightning cables and this charger. Brilliant.Anker make some of the best products in this category, just wished Anker would increase the ranger of products and colours they offer us Canadians, the US site shows so much more options. Black is getting boring. Anker should also contact some of the other sellers on Amazon Canada and tell html to reduce prices, some are forcing us to pay 2-4 times more than the item costs than if you buy for Anker-Direct-CA
