My first MacOS device.
My computer experience goes way back. I have had computers from Atari, Commodore, Amiga and PC dating back to the pre-Windows DOS configuration. This is my first Apple computer and my first laptop.I have had my Macbook for a month now, and while there has been a bit of a learning curve, it isn’t that different in basic operation.For what I use the Macbook for, is deadly quiet (no fans), it doesn’t get hot, even in my lap, and is very light to carry.As a PC user, I was concerned about the RAM limitations, but I mainly I bought this laptop for basic use (Internet access, email, virtual meetings, occasional streaming on the road) For that kind of usage it works great. I still have my desktop PC, and will continue using it for my heavy lifting, although I am interested to try the Macbook for use in my photography hobby.While I could have gotten a monster PC laptop for the same money, I have been curious about the Apple computers for a while, as I am nervous about the direction Microsoft is taking Windows of late.So, this may not be my last Apple computer. Time will tell.

Nice Large Screen, excellent keyboard and large tracking pad
I went from an older 13 inch to this 15 inch and I’m amazed at the difference. The screen is clear, the keyboard is very responsive, and the track pad/mouse pad is larger so you can move things across the screen a little easier. The one thing I didn’t catch before purchasing this is that they solder the memory onto the board, so you are unable to upgrade the onboard memory. I’m a techie so that is a big no-no in my book which is why it gets a 4 star. If I could upgrade the memory myself, I would give it a 5 star.

No USB ports no head phone outlet. No mouse. not compatible with my work.
Complicated to set up. There are no USB ports No headphone outlet, No mouse. Would not be compatible with other equipment I have to work with every day. Apple is in its own world if you have not used Apple equipment before and are planning on integrating it with other equipment you already have make sure it will be compatible before you buy it.

Do not buy this product. Apple just upgraded the MacBook airs by putting more RAM which is 16gb. Now the basic model starts 16gb at the same price. M3 Macbook air with 8gb was released in Mar 2024 but it became old within 6 months as they upgraded for free. This needs more discount or should not be sold.

Despite being brand new, the MacBook Air M3 started lagging and freezing during basic browsing tasks, which is highly disappointing and unacceptable for a device of this caliber.
