Amazing buy for Mac fans and the best way to avoid Apple Intelligence!
Let me first start out by saying that this is a good desktop. It is outdated, but anything that can run macOS and is new at $340 is truly a miracle these days.I bought this desktop to use as a normal internet browsing/productivity computer to use with a desktop monitor or connected to my TV. The reason I chose this over just another Windows mini PC is because the Mac experience. When using this computer, the OS is snappy, it hasnât crashed on me once, I havenât even heard a fan once, the graphics/visuals are very nice, there is TONS of RAM, and the Intel i7, even though it is a little old, is a very reliable and sturdy CPU. Another amazing benefit of this computer is how sturdy the build quality is and how small the actual desktop is. Everything in the description matches the product I got, but the OS was a slightly newer Monterey instead of the Mojave.About the specs: this Mac Mini from late 2018 has an older 8th generation Intel Core i7 which feature 6 all-performance cores and is almost equivalent performance-wise to the latest Intel desktop i3 (except for in single core applications). It also has a massive amount of RAM at 32GB, it isnât very fast RAM for DDR4 as of 2024, but again it is an older computer. It has a small 128GB of SSD storage which is disappointing to be honest, but you can add more storage to it with a external drive or a dock with a drive slot inside of it (just search on Amazon âMac Mini Dockâ and youâll see). In terms of ports, it has 4 usb-c ports, 2 usb-a ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 headphone jack, 1 ethernet port, and its standard power port. The WiFi and Bluetooth are older types, but I can use a keyboard from 15 feet away with no problem and the WiFi reception I feel is stronger than my M2 MacBook Air.In summary, if you are looking for a reliable and affordable desktop that has the full Mac experience, and are fine with a little older technology, this desktop is for you. If you donât care about its small size or the ability to run macOS, just go and make yourself a custom PC and you can get something around the likes of a Ryzen 5600GT for the same price. I am really happy Woot sold this computer at such a great price and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I hope more retailers list more products like this for the people who want good quality PCs on a budget.

It is unused — based on packaging
I got this ready to return if it was not new as advertised. I’m going to keep it.I would say this should be considered new with an important caveat. It certainly is in the original apple packaging & unopened shrink-wrap… with all the typical Apple fan-fare of careful packaging. This, in turn, is in an Apple shipping box with Apple label & barcode, also unopened. The unit and it’s cord are in pristine condition. So I have to say this is NOT a “renewed” unit. However, I did call Apple with the serial number to get more information and found it is a resale. Apparently somebody purchased these units in bulk and started the Apple warranty and care timeline. Therefore, as another reviewer stated, the the Apple warranty and possibility of Apple care expired. I believe this make sense as we’re looking at a ~6 year old release.Note: the discontinued date for this HW was Jan 17, 2023. Upon starting up, I found this is loaded with macOS 12.0.1. Therefore, the actual build date for this one is sometime in 2021 and it was built in Malaysia, not China (as my current 2018 HW is).Since I need Mojave OS or Monterey for older software used offline (i.e. Adobe LightRoom 6) this is really a good deal to ensure I have a backup to my existing 2018 i7 3.2 Ghz. Just a couple of days before seeing this, I had purchased a used unit (also 128 GB SSD) from OWC with 8GB RAM along with the 32GB RAM upgrade and that was ~$60 more; so I’m returning the OWC purchase. Given the small internal HDD, just need to use the “Startup Security Utility” (hold CMD-R on startup) to allow boot from an external drive. Also should note this can be run with the latest Sequoia OS! My recent older vintage mini’s can’t be run beyond the Catalina OS (or High Sierra in some cases). Finally, note this is the last mac with up-gradable RAM… it can be increased to 64 GB.

Not new
Computer in good condition but it is not new — it is a refurb and is not covered by an Apple warranty. This is a misleading advertisement.
