Motherboard failure within 8 months of use
The computer simply did not turn on one day, after only 8 months of use. It did not suffer any kind of external damage and was always handled properly. After testing its energy sources etc, the hypothesis is that it simply had a random motherboard failure.I have sent it for warranty repair, and today, after a week, I got an e-mail saying the computer was sent to the wrong repair center (ASUS customer service was the one who provided the shipping label with their repair center address in it!!!).This computer was used for university work and this frustrating experience has disrupted my whole semester.I do not recommend it at all.

READ! Won’t work after 1 weeks, horrible experience all around
The laptop will only boot in UEFI/bios after one weeks of working fine. We’ve tried everything, from trying to reinstall windows with a USB device to trying everything in bios after talking with Asus and scouring forums for solutions. I bought this laptop for my son as a birthday gift for college. By the time his birthday came around and he used it for one week, it suddenly stopped working, and the 30 day return window lapsed, so I’ve been dealing with Asus’s terrible customer service who is saying they can try to fix it and it might take. My son is starting classes next week in another state and we’re out over $1,300. I’m really hoping Amazon or Asus step up and make things right.

ASUS does NOT stand behind their products
I bought an ASUS notebook exactly 1 month ago. I opened it up the other day and the F10 key had come off and the plastic piece below the key was broken into 3 pieces. I called the ASUS support line and they told me that it is a physical damage and that I am responsible to pay for repairs. If that wasn’t enough, they said i had to ship it back to them for repair. This part cannot be much more than 50 cents and I’m pretty darn sure I could snap a new one in myself. I rarely write reviews but I had to write this one because of the egregious lack of product support. I personally will never buy an ASUS product again and I would recommend the same for anyone thinking of buying one of their products. What a terribly company.
