Great motherboard with 14th gen support out of the box
Beautiful motherboard that works great with a white build. Built in LED is great quality and motherboard has a fair number of aRGB connections. Worked with my i714700k out of the box with no bios update, though I was also able to easily update it anyways. Bios is easy to navigate and overclocking is also relatively simple. The only negative I would say is the motherboard only has one usb 3.0 connection so if your pc case has multiple usb 3.0 connections you will need to get a pcie usb 3.0 expansion. The motherboard also has a gpu release button which is convenient for larger gpus.My build has a GeForce Aero OC 4090 side mounted which worked flawlessly with this motherboard as well. Another great benefit is the pcie lanes do not get bottlenecks by connecting extra M.2 drives or expansion cards.Motherboard has gen 4 M.2 but not gen5

Worked beautifully!
The product is well made except for the user manual which lacks clarity on two counts – SSD on board installation and Windows 11 installation. Windows 11 did not recognize the built-in LAN adapter so I had to go through some gyrations to install the OS. Layout was well thought out but it was not obvious from the start. I came to the realization that it is important to get contemporaneous computer parts in order for the assembly to work well – for example, new SSD instead of using old SATA drives. But that is my personal preference. It is the first computer I put together where I was, in the end, very satisfied that the disparate parts appeared to have been made for each other. Other components – ASUS ROG Dual 4060 display card, ASUS ROG 850W power supply, Noctua fanless head sink with fan, i9 12900k CPU. The ASUS BIOS had a built-in memory test that brought up the CPU temperature to 70 deg Celsius but not higher. Did not implement overclocking.

Easy build
Build came out mostly seamless. Had some issues initially with GPU / display but so far its been working great. Clocks really nicely. Running w/ 4080s and its just an absolute beast. Only complaint is that the top frame made it hard to install my top rack CPU cooler and had to move it to the side.

A great board for gamers and experts
Having had other boards from MSI and Gigabyte in the same z90 series, I was flooded by the options in both the bios and the the software. The board works hassle free, and works well with rgb devices. There are a couple things that really sticks out as positives. The first is the button release for graphics card. It worked wonderfully when I had to replace my GPU. The second is the vast array of NVMe slots. It was amazing to have of the options. If you know your storage runs a bit hot, you can locate them in a cooler place.I would recommend this board to any seasoned computer person, who loves having the freedom to try a little tweaking of the configuration.

Asus Customer service is so bad you should never buy a motherboard from them
A dead USB slot or DIMM slot is fairly normal in motherboards, and therefore a proper RMA process is to be expected from any company selling them. Here is all the ways ASUS failed to handle such a simple process:Starting the RMA is fairly standard, there is a long web form that is paired with Fedex one-day shipping to get the motherboard to their tech support. Note that the reason for my particular RMA is 2 dead DIMM slots, which should not be a repair, but a replace, as it would be cheaper to do so for any company. The customer service tech I spoke to said the same and estimated I would get my replacement within 5 days. I shipped out on a Wednesday, and Fedex confirmed that it arrived at their facility early Thursday morning. There is no contact information, phone or email, to directly talk to the technical repair team, you only have a link with a barebones summary of the current RMA status. This failed to update that they received the board until the following Saturday (2 days later), and dated the receive as Saturday (provably false, as visible in the Fedex tracker).Note that if you do want to call anyone for information, your only option is the basic support team, which requires you recite the full serial number every time instead of a case number, and has almost no information on anything going on, as the repair team is separate. No further updates were made until the following Tuesday, where it was listed as “in repair, due to be completed on Saturday”. Again, a full inspection of the motherboard prior to shipping it showed the only issue was DIMM slots being dead, which would not be repairable. This is the first sign they were doing something wrong.Thursday I received an email stating it had repair not covered under warranty, and pictures to boot. The repair team had heavily damaged the CPU socket, which was not previously damaged, and should not have been touched when diagnosing an issue for DIMM slots. They wanted to bill me $130.00 (more than half the board’s cost) to repair an issue that they caused, and they still hadn’t looked into or mentioned the original issue. You have 3 options in this scenario: pay for the repair, have them send you back the damaged product, or dispute the claim. When disputing the claim, you are only allowed attachments and a freeform mere 100 characters to type up the issue. It is insanely hard to word the issues in such a small field, but what else are your options? Contact the inquiry team? Of course, they do not have a phone number or email, and the general support line has no way to put you in contact with them. When they inevitably claim that you have no proof they did the damage, they just send an “it’s not covered” email (Friday), again with no response options available. You can’t even go into the previous email and reject the claim, as it is disabled while the claim is in “disputed” status. Calling the support line all they can do is escalate the issue, and assure you that they will call you the next day.Wednesday (not the next day), I finally received an email saying they “haven’t heard from me” that actually has a callback number for the invoice support team. Calling them I was finally able to reject the claim, so I can get back the board they damaged and ship it to Amazon (required for a refund).Every step of the process is tedious, and the lack of direct phone lines to actually contact anyone is concerning for a company that should be processing RMAs fairly regularly. Do not buy ASUS, it is not worth the chance you will have to interact with their support/repair teams.

I paired this board with an Intel 13900K for my Unraid server. I was looking for two things in particular, 4 m.2 slots and a motherboard that still used DDR4 memory (as I already had 128GB of DDR4 in my old server). This board has been rock solid and glad I made the purchase.
