FAST, FLEXIBLE, FUNCTIONAL – All members of the ROG Flow laptop family have a secret weapon – the XG Mobile. ROG’s exclusive XG Mobile ecosystem of external GPUs provide amped-up horsepower and offer a built in I/O hub, allowing higher bandwidth to Flow devices with a proprietary PCIe connection. The XG Mobile features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU with a max TGP of 150W, allowing you to transform your Flow device from a mobile gaming laptop to a true battlestation.
I/O EXPANSION – The XG Mobile is more than just an external GPU. Thanks to the plentiful bandwidth provided by a PCIe Gen3x8 connection, it also serves as an I/O expansion hub. HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, 4 USB 3.2 Gen2 (1 of which is Type-C), an SD card reader, and a 2.5G ethernet port make any XG Mobile-connected Flow device a true battlestation with one cable. It also delivers power directly to your Flow machine with an integrated 330W power adapter. With the XG Mobile, you can leave your dongles at home
NEXT LEVEL COOLING – Despite being the size of a hardcover novel, the XG mobile brings plenty of firepower to the party. The XG Mobile needs to stay cool without compromising acoustics during extended play sessions, so we leveraged our Intelligent Cooling tech to keep this external GPU cool and quite. Featuring a vapor chamber on the GPU die, the XG Mobile can provide up to 150W of power to the GPU without breaking a sweat.
Only compatible with rog flow and ally

Must have for asus rog ally owners.
I know nothing about the flow products that use this as well, but its so much fun on the rog ally. The perfect handheld hybrid pc now. Comes equipped with raw power. Most external gpu only take advantage of about 70% of the gpu but with asus you get about 90% with little to no bottleneck. So easy to set up, make sure the ally is up to date then plug the xg up and you have an update that will make you restart and away you go. Anything of this nature is no expensive so you are not saving much money depending on your needs. Becuase to take full advantage you will need a monitor or tv that takes advantage of all that power. The gpu can get load but it stays relatively cool. It’s alot cooler than my asus zephyrus g14 ryzen 9 3060 I will tell you that. The Cord is short and you have to bend it a little, I set the gpu up a little higher so I don’t have to bend it at the connector end of either poi t of the cable to pro long it. The cable is thick so I trust it. Gives me just enough ports to plug everything in as I like wires and prefer to have as little lag as possible. With the current discount it’s so worth it. No longer in production so if you had it on your mind I say do it but I’m an enabler ð. The stand on the gpu is surprisingly sturdy and can hold up with all my cable tugging on it every way. Still playing with it but first couple hrs of gaming are amazing.

It’s a beast
Great card, a bit over priced though. Plays everything in max settings. My only complaint is setting it up, the instructions are not very clear and you have to make sure armoury crate is updated as well and make sure the onboard graphics is setup a certain way. I would think asus could have made this thing plug and play with how much the whole setup costs.

Amazing productivity! From ASUS for ASUS!
Dreamed over year abt this GPU such as have Rog Flow Z but reading many negative reviews had serous doubts for buy it. Finally, I bought it and happy like a pink kitty 🙂 No any problems with connection, switching or drivers or hardware or any other problems ! Working ideally! Recommended for everyone who have doubts to buy it!

Listed memory is incorrect
You are reporting this with 24GB of memory. The card is reporting 16GB of memory. Asus tech specs show this as 16GB also not 24GB.

asus quality
I have a Flow X13 and XG Mobile 2021 that I bought in 2021. I’ve had infrequent power issues with that combo. Sometimes a usb port would lose power momentarily, or plugging in an ethernet cable would cause a reboot. It was enough of a problem to request a RMA but not enough to actually send them in for a 2wk+ repair. Over time, I’ve just coped with not relying on ethernet, and the usb issues didn’t happen much at all. When the XG Mobile 2023 came out, I kept eyeballing it. Either I got a slightly defective old one, or maybe this new version will fix the issues I had? It has a 4090, which I don’t really need, the 3080 in the old version did plenty fine for me. Finally this year, I decided to try it out since I saw it on sale on amazon for $100 less.Unfortunately, I still have power issues. I’ve had more usb power failures, and a bluescreen at least once a day. Ran through ASUS support again who still don’t seem to have a specific troubleshooting guide for the XG Mobile. All of the steps were just checking drivers on the laptop. They even had me wipe the drive and start over. I was skeptical about that one, but I tried it anyway. Didn’t bluescreen after that, but I had random reboots and the windows event viewer noted a few crashes. I ran some of my own diagnostics on the side since asus’ diagnostics all came back healthy. The Flow X13 appears to be fine, memory and ssd tests were just fine. When I hook up my XG Mobile 2021 to it, it’s back to its normal if imperfect behavior. In the end, ASUS offered to RMA but since I’m still in amazon’s return window, I opted to do a return. Amazon’s return process required me to chat with a rep, but they got it squared away quick. I’m just going to continue on with my 2021 XG mobile and look out for a better laptop/egpu combo in the future. With oculink and TB5 options from other vendors on the horizon, I probably won’t go with ASUS again.

Extremely Finicky and Inconsistent
Consistently bugged out my audio drivers and regularly required restarting to activate.

4k resolution on 4k TV, no problem. I had doubts. But I had a leap of faith, the best.

While this thing is a beast frame wise, after about 6 months of owning it the release pins fail and the slightest touch and all your usbs and ethernet will disconnect, then i gotta jiggle it around and pray everything reconnects
