Fast, bright, crisp, and well priced for a 2K monitor.
What a monitor. So, I wanted a higher DPI monitor for a while now and did a lot of comparison shopping. Asus, Acer, Dell, MSI, Samsung etc. all of them were fair game. So, here’s why I chose this one. 1st price to resolution. Out of all the 2K monitors this one had the best price to resolution point. 2nd I wanted a high response rate as I do play games, and dang does this monitor deliver. 3rd i wanted a refresh rate that was at least 120Hz, this goes up to 170Hz? if you push it. I stick to 144 and never miss a beat so that extra overhead is nice to know it’s there for whatever reason. The color gamut is great for everything I do, but I’m not a photographer or a photo editor so all I can say is, the colors look really nice and sharp with no washing out. The brightness is great. I’ve never gone to 100% brightness and it’s perfectly lit in a normal interior situation no matter the time of day. It pretty much puts all my previous flat panel monitors to shame and has a lot of features that I may never use, but are “nice to haves”. Really, it’s a tremendous monitor and has just made me incredibly satisfied as buyer.

ASUS TUF 27″ 1ms 180Hz 4K
Stand Assembly was easy enough, but trying to figure out just how to get the internal controls set properly was an interesting and ongoing journey. I downloaded the VG27AQ3A User Manual from the ASUS support site while registering the product for warranty purposes. The various navigation buttons on the Rear, Mid Right side will take some getting used to. I found the toggle button for menu navigation to be a great feature. I was really happy when I found it and the monitor acknowledged the DisplayPort cable and set defaults. I had panicked for a moment thinking, bad cable or DOA bricked monitor? At its current default settings, the color rendering in theater and scenery modes are fantastic. The 1ms refresh rate is WowTastic and I’m really liking the pencil lead thin outer bezel. It’s almost nonexistent. I’ve owned a number of ASUS Monitors and can honestly state that they have always been outstanding performers. I’ve yet to get one that had dead pixels on arrival and can easily recommend the ASUS line of monitors to anyone looking for an affordable solution for gaming, entertainment, work, school, etc…The only CON I can come up with is the built in 2Watt speakers are extremely underwhelming. Fortunately, I have a great set of Audio-Technica headphones, so this isn’t a huge issue. The monitor has a headphone jack in the rear that I may check out to compare quality in output. “Play Time!”Summation: I Highly recommend to gaming enthusiasts on a budget, or to anyone needing a powerful multitasking capable monitor. Great features, ASUS TUF built at a great price point.

Best monitor I’ve ever had.
I really like how it has 7 gaming visual presets. Each mode is self described for what type of game it goes well with, and they are definitely optimized for visual aesthetics. I like to switch to cinema mode with low brightness when I am laying down for the night and want to watch some videos, combined with the night light on windows 11, it’s really easy on the eyes. Also, SRGB mode is useful for general purpose web browsing, where all the colors are balanced. The monitor remembers what brightness you had set for the particular gaming mode preset. There is an option to overclock the refresh rate to 165, but I don’t see the need to, 144fps is more than enough for competitive gaming. I can’t think of any negatives for this product, so therefore it gets a 5/5 in all categories.

Great monitor with minor flaws
I bought this monitor to upgrade from another ASUS display that I bought 9 years ago (ASUS MX259H 25″) which is still alive and kicking.First off the picture quality seems excellent. It has the low blue-light features that I need for work, and for gaming the response times are great, as is the picture quality (after a few adjustments). The step up from 1080p to 1440p is extremely noticeable.I’ve had no dead pixels, and noticed no light bleed. There is slight IPS glow (which is normal) but it is some of the least noticeable I’ve seen on any IPS display I’ve owned. Brightness maxes out at 250 nits, which may not be bright enough for a true HDR experience, but it’s otherwise plenty in my opinion. I use this in a room with a lot of sunlight and have no issues. I’m pretty thrilled with the image quality.I used the VESA mounting holes to put this on a stand and had no issues whatsoever on that front. They were easily accessible. My main knocks on this display are that the stand lacks much in the way of adjustability (if you plan on using the included stand) and the OSD (on-screen display) for changing settings is a bit cumbersome. Everything is controlled by 4 buttons and a small joystick on the back of the right side of the monitor. It works well enough, but everything takes longer than it would if there were labeled buttons on the front of the screen, or even just some menu shortcuts. For example, what should be simple tasks like changing the speaker volume or switching HDMI inputs take clicking around far more in the menus than they should. That’s all that keeps this from being a 5-star display for me.I got this on sale but even if I paid MSRP this would be a great display for the price.

The ASUS TUF Gaming 27″ 2K HDR Monitor (VG27AQ1A) is exceptional. The QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution with IPS panel provides crisp, vibrant visuals, and the 170Hz refresh rate (supports 144Hz) ensures smooth gameplay. With a 1ms response time, G-SYNC compatibility, and Extreme Low Motion Blur, it delivers an impressive gaming experience. Built-in speakers and VESA mountability add convenience. Highly recommended for gamers looking for performance and quality!

Upgrading from 60hz monitor to this was a huge difference. I like the screen the colors the build quality the equipments everything is so good.I received the package with little tears but overall it was great.I had one issue when overclocking to 170hz the monitor will start flickering every couple of minutes only while connecting 2 monitors. After a couple of research and adjustments I changed the second monitor DP cable to a thicker and stronger DP cable and it was fixed. The brightness on the monitor is more then any gamer needs especially if you play in a dark room itâs perfect.Overall itâs a great monitor and if you can buy it during sales itâs a perfect deal.
