Simple, corded operation- Reliable, corded operation eliminates the search for a misplaced cordless handset, while sturdy construction ensures long-lasting performance. Clean design makes it an easy fit on any counter or wall.
Caller ID/call waiting- Allows you to view the name, number, time and date of incoming calls at a glance, even those on call waiting
Dial-in-base speakerphone- Allow you to speak and listen without holding the handset. This leaves your hands free to do other things and lets more people in on the conversation
No AC Power required-The telephone works without AC Power. For the Caller ID to function, four AA batteries (not included) are necessary
Volume Controls- Both the ringer and receiver have volume controls so that you can adjust them to your comfort level

Good Phone with all the needed functions without an electrical brick!
Just went and bought this phone today after considerable research. And so far it is meeting expectations. My needs in order of priority:1. No electrical hookup – should run off phone line, like all old analog phones2. Need speaker phone for occasional conference calls3. Need Caller ID to screen calls.4. Nice to have – programmable phone number bank5. Ringer control – should be able to turn off ringer or make it go to visual6. Should be able to put caller on hold or mute.7. No answering machine neededNeedless to say – this was the only phone I found which could meet all of the above. The need to have one phone in the house which can be used if the electricity is off just made all the other phones miss out in some other aspects in the list above. Mostly they wouldnt have caller ID. All these features in this phone work on 4 -AA batteries and we will see how the consumption rate on that is.It was easy to setup, though the wall mount , did have an issue with the hook for the handset. It just wouldnt slide out…. had to bring the screw driver and pry it loose.Next, I will programme the frequently dialed numbers and see how that goes. It seems fairly easy from the instruction book.So far I have tested the speakerphone and the handset – the sound quality is great! Our previous phone was introducing a lot of static in the calls, so this is a good replacement and I am happy with the price. ANd we have freed up one of the electrical sockets as this needs no electric connection!!

Great Wired Caller ID Speakerphone With One Touch Keys
Great wired speakerphone does everything it should and has bank of one-touch dialing keys. Has caller Caller ID with easy to read LCD screen. Been buying this exact model for many years. NOTE… “been buying” because the phone has a limited lifespan. You will have to replace it every few years. Get the extended warranty! Unlike many others, this extended warranty pays for itself. You WILL use the warranty! But because the phone is so good, if you have the extended warranty, it is still a great purchase! I just bought another one.

A good basic phone
After googling and reading about the ill health affects of cordless DECT phones,I finally decided to rid my house of them. After researching the best options for the corded “dinosaur” type phones, I settled on this AT&T w/speakerphone.Granted…it doesn’t take photos, play music or otherwise entertain you but it works as a basic phone.I really like the simplicity of its set up directions & operation.I currently use it as a desktop but may eventually hang it on a wall. The speakerphone is great….it has clear sound quality. The numbers are large enough. It keeps a record of who has called and there is a readout telling you there is a new call (although it doesn’t blink as it’s not an answering machine)It works during a power outage. What I don’t like:Not backlit , making it difficult/impossible to read what’s on the screen in the dark. This is not good, especially when one considers that the people who are most drawn to this type of phone are of a certain “vintage”.And I don’t appreciate the deceptive photos from the manufacture making it appear that it is backlit. Not nice! The fact that the handset can be dislodged too easily is quite annoying.Several times it has fallen off the base causing the phone to be “off the hook”.Seems like a design flaw. What I did to make this phone more practical for me was to purchase a 50′ cord so that I could move around a bit. That way I don’t feel like I’m confined to one spot. It’s makes giving up the total freedom of my cordless phone more bearable.(I do have a review of that cord, if you’re interested)I would say that overall, I like this phone and would recommend it w/ the reservations I mentioned above. Since I can’t give it 3 1/2 stars I’ll be generous and give it 4.

Very happy with my purchase
This phone is perfect for my purposes: no electrical cord, but includes a speakerphone function which works perfectly. These two factors were my priorities. The buttons are large enough to avoid mistakes and the audio quality is very good. Being able to replace the handset cord for a longer one if necessary is really practical and useful as well as the option to hang the phone on the wall. The redial function, mute button, call list etc. are all very nice extra features for such a reasonable price. This phone has all the advanced functionality of the very latest models, minus the cordless handset part which is not a plus (after an hour of talk time, all cordless handset batteries die, abruptly stopping your conversation) and bad audio. Somehow all cordless phones I have tried have disappointed me. I have tried more than ten different cordless models from reputable brands with the same result, no idea why…So I am very happy with this classic model and I have already started recommending it to everyone I know.Since some have commented on the mute button, and the ring volume, I must say neither is a problem for me. I like a loud ringer so I can hear it even if I am away from my desk and it’s fine by me if people hear a click when I press the mute button, which I do very rarely anyway. Plus, I could be wrong, but after a few recent conversations I think you get to hear a click not just when you hit the mute button, but also when the other party hits the mute button, which I find quite useful…

Didn’t work
I programed and plugged in. No dial tone. I ranged but couldn’t here person, like no one was on other end not able to call out. The phone is no good. I had this model for 10 years and caller ID stopped working, so I figured I would replace. I started to get some other off brand and probably would come out better. Just wanted to hold on to the memory of my mother talking on the phone. I’m disappointed in AT&T.

The best old style phone I’ve ever seen. Advantages:1. Does not need power. That means it works at the time of power interruption.2. Huge and simple 4 pcs of AA batteries data backup.3. No radiation of your head. No Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth etc.4. Speaker phone.5. 14 speed memory buttons that you can dial one after another, what the new phones cannot do. You would push speaker button or pick up the handset, then push memory button for your (800) long distance company, and after you’ve got signal, you would push memory button with some international long distance phone number. It works for me. Awesome.

Cant hear phone ringing, pretty little sound but virtually inaudible ring tone. Nothing in User Manual online or anywhere on how to adjust ring tone, volume on full.
