Best 2 Line Speaker Phone Available
I purchased the AT&T TL86109 DECT 6.0 2-line phone after researching the systems available. I work in the software industry remote from our headquarters and spend four or more hours on the phone each day. I bought this phone to replace a seven year old Panasonic phone that was beginning to fail. After using this phone for a week I am very happy with my purchase. In my situation I make extensive use of the speaker phone. Many times I need to record design review sessions to facilitate note taking. So a quality speaker and microphone were major concerns. The sound quality is very good, even better than the Panasonic. The setup was easy, I plugged everything in, let it charge overnight and registered the handsets without a problem. The conference call capability was clear and easy to use. I connected my cell phone up via the Bluetooth connections and within minutes I had my contacts loaded. What sold me on this phone was that if I ever abandon my land lines I can use this phone via my cell phone. This removes the requirement to wear my cell all the time when I am home. I put a Bluetooth headset on my Christmas list.I only have three complaints: The intensity of the “Blue” light on the handsets. I had to face the phone away from the bed because it was so bright. I might take a Sharpie and blacken it out. Next, I need to update my outgoing message every week. To do that, I have to navigate through three levels of the menu, should be easier. The other is clearing line messages, When you miss a call you get a message on the display. Rather than letting you clear the message you need to clear the log make it go away. After a week of use, it has met my expectations and performed better than expected.

A very good system
We have had this system installed for a couple of months now. It was easy to set up and works very well. Voice quality is excellent and noise is negligible. Signal is good throughout our medium-sized house. Caller ID number and name works just fine on both lines. Battery life is excellent. As to some of the comments others have made:1. Yes, the blue recharging light is bright. So take the phone in your bedroom out of the recharger and lay it down for the night. No problem.2. The recorded voice message plays back rather weakly when you are recording it, but it sounds fine when you call in. Again, not a problem.3. Yes, the menu system is rather obscure and some functions that you use regularly are buried down several layers. For this reason I only gave the system four stars.4. The recharging bases are light weight, but they do their job and do not tend to fall over. No problem. In sum, we like the system and recommend it to others.

Yet another 2-line phone doesn’t cut it
Was very excited about this phone hoping I had finally found a great 2-line expandable phone. But again, after trying panasonic, vtech, I can lump this one into yet another one that doesn’t cut it. Range was decent but there was some crackling on the line. There is no headset jack in the base which is ridiculous. I’m on the phone constantly and can’t rely on a battery handset for 12 hours a day. And lastly, the neon blue “charge” light that encircles the center button is so bright, it lights up your entire room at night. Literally you could have a shadow puppet festival. A very poor design. So back it goes. Very disappointing.

Worst phone system I ever had.
1. The answering system does not work. I set up voice messaging system; yet, when the call should go to voice mail, a message states, “Sorry. You cannot leave a message for ###-###-####.” I have spent many days trying to get the answering maching to work; yet it does not work.2. There is no indicator (i.e. blinking light) to alert me for missed calls.3. Redial. When I attempt to redial a missed call, I have to manually redial the entire phone number because the 1 is not captured by the phone system. I have to write down the phone number on a piece of paper, then dial the phone number beginning with the “1”.4. The volumne on the hand sets are aweful. The sound is very low. I have to put all calls on speaker in order to hear the caller’s voice.5. No annoucement for incoming calls (i.e. caller’s name).I honestly wish I had never purchased this phone system. I am shopping, again, for another phone system: hopefully, one which actually works!!!Highly recommended you do not purchase this phone system.
