GREAT BASIC PHONE SET
I purchased this phone set to replace a Panasonic KXTGA950B set. The Panasonic was a total bust. I left a 1 star review for it on the product page because it didn’t work. This one was $50 less and it works beautifully. Clear instructions, ease of use, static free sound on both headsets and speaker phone, great range and sufficient features for a technically challenged person like me.It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles the Panasonic had, no link to cell or bluetooth feature, but if you want a basic, clear sounding 2 line phone with intercom, speaker phone, hold button, ample storage in the directory and a place to plug in a headset this is a winner. Instructions are clear and easy to follow and, unlike the Panasonic, these phones actually work. The Panasonic had a larger screen but that’s about the only good difference in these 2 phones. This was my 3rd set of Panasonics, the first two lasted about 3 years each, then they would simply fade away and new batteries didn’t help. Hopefully this set of AT&T will last a bit longer.

Good quality phone
I had an AT&T phone before but it did not have a headphone jack. I looked at a lot of phones but most had horrible reviews. It is very difficult to find a phone with good reviews that has a phone jack. This AT&T phone has good reviews and a phone jack. I did not need a 2-line phone as I only use one line. This phone meet all of my other requirements so I bought it. I am happy to have this phone it works very well and the sound quality if great. I think the design of the of the software to control handling of messages and the call log (reviewing and deleting) could be better. It is usable but it takes a little longer than it did with my old AT&T phone.

Good wireless system for home of small business
The system was very easy to install. Sound and coverage are quite good. An especially nice feature is the contact list is maintained on the base, so no updating each unit. One negative feature: picking up the mobile units from their base does not pick up a call; one must push a line button. Conversely, when a call is over, putting it back on the base does not disconnect; one must push another button. But this is a small complaint.

Excellent, easily customizable phone system for 2-line house with small home business
I waited a month before reviewing this item, because it annoys me when people post a review three hours after opening the box. We have two phone lines – one for my home business and the other for the family. This unit was very easy to set up, and it took me less than 20 minutes to set up the base and synch all the portables. I am no electronics expert, and if it takes you much longer than that (other reviews) – it’s not the product’s fault; you’re just not paying attention to the clear step-by-step instructions. There’s a simple sequence that must be followed, so, just – – follow it. Choosing different ring tones was also easy, as was having two different settings for the answering machine. I want the unit to pick up calls to the family after 3 rings, but not pick up at all for my business calls, which I prefer to handle through my cable company so I can easily access my business calls when away from the office (there’s a simple button on the base for each line to turn answering on/off). That’s just how I like it, the point is that it’s easily customizable to your preference. Call quality is just fine on both regular mode and speaker mode, and I get full coverage throughout the whole house from the base downstairs. Caller ID on all portables is very useful. Does not synch with my cell phone, but I really didn’t need or want that feature especially at significant added cost. I always have my cell phone with me anyway for texts, quick email or news updates, so why have a portable phone that syncs for calls only? For me, that wouldn’t allow me to put my cell phone by the front door so why bother? Bottom line, both my wife and I are very satisfied with this system for our family’s needs as well as those of my small home business.

Do not buy
I have spent 3 hours trying to get the handset to connect to the base. No luck. It is a laborious process because you have to unplug the handset base and then unplug the battery (very difficult) and try again after each failed attempt. Also these are very cheaply built. The buttons have to pushed really hard to register a number. And the overall handset design is bad–the difficult of plugging and unplugging the battery is one of many examples of this. Finally, you can’t plug a headset into the base. You have to put it in a handset, which makes for bad quality calls and puts you at risk of losing a call because the battery runs down. This is only really good for a small business that is running some kind of consumer fraud–you won’t get any customers pestering you about the money you stole.I’m a tech writer, by the way, so my opinion isn’t the result of not being able to figure out how to plug in a phone.

I got my money’s worth, but there is room for improvement.
The sound/voice fidelity is o.k., but not great, and because the system has so many functions it is not very intuitive. You have to read the manual. As user manuals go, it’s not bad. It just that I hate having to read an electronics user manual. And while I am being picky, it seemed to me that the battery installation was a bit awkward. It could have been better engineered. On the plus side, the bundle does work and does everything is says it will. If anything, there is too much functionality. Also, the price is very attractive, Bottom line, I believe I got my money’s worth, but there is room for improvement.
